"Okay, your mission supplies are packed, the schematics have been uploaded into Chase's chips
, and your transport is on the way. Did I forget anything?" Mr. Davenport asked as I walked in to see Adam, Bree and Chase in their mission suits as I was still in my pajamas. I looked at them with confusion.

"Nope. We will just wing this entire missions be hope whatever it is we are trying to stop doesn't blow up in our faces." Bree commented as Davenport snapped his fingers.

"All right. A particle collider is a three-mile long underground facility where scientists--"

"Race subatomic particles at each other at light speed for energy experiments." Chase said cutting of Davenport as the two of them grinned. "So cool." I finished as, they did finger wiggles.

"There is a particle collider in Berkeley that is accelerating out of control, and your mission is to shut it down." Davenport informed as we all nodded. Leo walked in, typing away at the cyber desk.

"Okay. We have to act quickly. The scientists that operate the facility--" Davenport walked behind the desk, pushing Leo out of the way. "'scuuuuse me—have already evacuated the control center, and if we don't shut it down in time, it will create a massive black hole that will implode the entire planet." He continued as my eyes widened.

"Today?! No, that's not gonna work. Today is Shelly Evans' birthday, and her mom makes the best cupcakes!" Leo argued as we all gave him a "are you serious?" Look. "I'm just sayin'. That woman doesn't skimp on the sprinkles." He crossed his arms as I hummed a nod.

"Don't worry, Leo, you will get your cupcakes. Adam, Bree and Chase have all the training they need to shut the collider down." Davenport said as he finally notified my presence.

"Wait, you guys are going on a mission? Why wasn't I told?!" I said as I went to go to my capsule, Davenport stopping me.

"I didn't tel you because you aren't ready for this mission yet." He replied with a sad look as I scoffed.

"What? Of course I am! I've been training every day for months! I skipped school to go on missions! I have never made a mistake on any of them- Mr. Davenport I can do this." I persuaded as he shook his head.

"I'm sorry Vanessa but this mission... it's too dangerous for you. You aren't ready." He said as I backed away, going over to the cyber desk to look at my file and prove to him I was ready.

"Look at this. I almost died saving people from a volcano! Bree could have easily used her super speed to save them, but I did instead! Mr. Davenport I'm trendy for this!" I continued as he gave me an unsure look.

"Come on, Mr. Davenport. Dottie has proven herself so many times she is capable for this kind of mission." Chase said as I nodded.

"... ugh, fine. Why do you have to not back down all the time?" Davenport caved with a frown as I went to go to my capsule, stopping when I heard yelling and a Blinding light.

"No, no, no!!! Aaaah!" The man yelled as everyone else did, me jumping into Chase's arms as Davenport jumped into Adam's.

"No body panic! It's probably just the cable guy." Davenport said as the man took off his glasses.

"Come on, Big D, I just came from seven years in the future. Your time machine actually worked! It's me! Leo!" The man said as Chase and I shared a shocked look.

"Whoa! The cable guy's got the same name as you!" Adam said as he dropped Davenport, Chase gently setting me down.

"Wait. If you're really me, then you'd know the handshake I came up with in case I ever became a spy." Leo said as the supposed future Leo confirmed it with the handshake.

After a few moments, Future Leo hugged Adam, Bree and Chase tightly, going over to hug me even tighter. The noise he let out almost sounded like he was crying but quickly composed himself.

Bree tried to get Future Leo to take her to 2025, but apparently he only had enough fuel to take him here and back. Bummers

Davenport's phone buzzed. "Oh. The collider mission. You guys have to get ready. Head to the equipment room and gear up." He ordered as I got in my capsule, waving goodbye to future Leo as I ran out after Adam, Bree and Chase

Adam then ran back in, but o my to grab the pudding he wouldn't eat. The pudding he's had for the last several months.

I threw my duffel bag on the lab floor in an upset episode. "I can't believe this! Davenport doesn't trust us to go on this mission." I said and leaned on the cyber desk, crossing my arms. Davenport had just walked out, the river he was building smoking as Leo and Future Leo gave us apologetic looks.

"And he's sending a rover that he hasn't even built yet!" Chase argued as I groaned.

"He thinks this mission is too big for us." Bree sighed as Leo did.

"It's not that he thinks it's too big--" Leo said before Future Leo stopped him.

"Leo we promised."

"I guess Davenport just lost confidence in us." Bree continued.

"Or he lost confidence in you two." Chase said, gesturing to Adam and Bree as my eyes widened.

"What is that supposed to mean? You and Vanessa are always bossing us around!" Bree snapped

"Because we know what we are doing!" I cut in as Chase nodded.

"I'm the one always carrying you three. You're the weak links!" Adam argued as I gasped.

"You can't even spell weak link!" I spat as Adam glared at me.

"Can to!" Adam responded as I scoffed

"You're brain dead!" Chase and I yelled in unison. We all continued arguing before Leo cut in.

"Guys! Enough! Future me came back here to warn Davenport not to let you go on the mission because... you don't come back from it." He said as Future Leo 'gaah'd'."

"Gah! I never listen to myself!" He said as the four of us just looked at one another.

"Wow... I guess that means we're not invincible.." Bree said as I only nodded.

"It all makes sense now. This is why Mr. Davenport forbade us to go." Chase spoke up as I looked up at Future Leo, now realizing why that hug felt like it was foreign to him.

Because he hasn't hugged me in 7 years.

I forced my tears back as I put the final dot to my note to Leo. Adam, Bree and Chase were already waiting outside. I looked back to the living room I grew to love, before sticking the note to the wall and leaving this home. Possibly forever.

Leo's POV

I let my future self pick out my outfit for my date with Janelle, allowing him to fix the cuff's as well before realizing he was being too harsh with it.

"Hey! Hey. Careful. Handsome is delicate." I stopped as he nodded in agreement, picking up one of my mom's magazine's to read and plopped on the couch. "Should I really be going to a movie with Janelle considering there still might be a slight chance the earth might implode?" I asked as he looked up from the magazine.

"Well it is a pretty good movie." He answered as I turned to the door, noticing two notes on it. I picked off the orange one, realizing it was from Adam, Bree, Chase and Vanessa too quickly.

"It's a note from Adam, Bree, Chase and Vanessa. They went on the mission!" I yelled as Future me shot up from the couch.

"What's this other note?" Future me asked, taking it off the door and reading it out loud.

Dear Leo,
I know this may be the last thing you ever get from me again, and I'm sorry. But, I want to thank you. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have these amazing bionics that I could help save the world with. And I probably wouldn't have survived that accident if Adam, Bree and Chase took me to the hospital instead of the lab. You were always like a little brother to me, and I hope that Future You knows that it will be okay. You will be okay. Even if I'm not here to stop Trent from tormenting you, or stop Perry from giving you a detention, just know that I care about you. So much. I'm doing this for you.

"She's doing this for me." I said as I felt tears start to form in my eyes, but Future me was already crying, so I guess he can cry for me.

I used my Electrokinesis to fry the wires that Adam had ripped out, the four of us cheering as the collider shut down.

"You did it, Ness! You shit down the collider!" Bree said as I cheered.

"And Mr. Davenport said I couldn't do it." I praised myself as we all hugged, hearing something roll in from the hallway.

"Adam? Bree? Chase? Vanessa?!" Donald yelled from the rover as Adam chuckled.

"Dude, Mr. Davenport turned into a wheelie robot!" He said as I rolled my eyes.

"I'm monitoring you remotely via the rover, Adam. What are you guys doing there?!" He asked as I fixed my stance.

"Leo told us what happened, but you designed us to save the world, so we had to come." Adam said as on perfect cue, Leo ran in.

"LEO?!" I yelled as Future Leo showed up.

"Did you guys shut down the collider?" He asked as Chase and I nodded.

"Yeah Vanessa just did it." Chase said as I shrugged a smile.

"Then get out of there, fast!" Future Leo ordered. Present Leo started to talk, but the crumbling was too loud for any of us to hear. Before I knew it, I was being shoved to the ground, looking up in time to see Leo get crushed by the collapsing ceiling.

"NOO!" I yelled, scrambling to get up as I tried my best to remove the rubble. "LEO!" I called out, hoping I'd hear him answer back as I felt a lump in my throat begin to form, as well as tears.

Chase had to pry me off of the rubble, only for me to hide my face into his shoulder so I wouldn't cry. He looked over at Future Leo, who was still standing with us.

"Wai—Wait a second. If Leo's gone, then shouldn't you be gone too?" Chase asked as Future Leo shrugged.

"I don't know, this is all new to me." He responded as I snapped my head to the rubble.

"He's still in there! Adam dig him out!"  I demanded as Adam started tossing rubble off to the side, a sigh of relief escaping me as Leo coughed out dust.

"When I say get out, GET OUT." He snapped as I yanked him out of the rubble, pulling him into a tight hug.

"Oh I'm so glad you aren't dead." I breathed as he hugged me back. I releasing the hug before shoving his shoulder. "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?! YOU COULD HAVE DIED!" I yelled as he rubbed his shoulder, hissing in pain as Future Leo did the same.

"That probably left a bruise for a long time." Future Leo muttered.

"Thank goodness you guys are all right. What were you thinking?! Get in here!" Davenport yelled at the four of us as we all winced, going into our capsules and coMing out clean. "And you are grounded until... you become you." He finished.

"Look, Big D, I know you were worried, but it all worked out. I-- I mean we—changed the course of the mission and saved Adam, Bree Chase, and Vanessa." Future Leo said with a smile.

"I think what he's trying to say is, if they saved the world and I saved them, then I saved the world!" Leo said with a hero stance as Future Leo mimicked him.

"Still grounded. By the way, Janelle dropped by. She seemed a little upset." Davenport said as Future Leo's eyes widened before realizing he had to go home.

"Thanks for saving us, Future Leo." I smiled and hugged him.

"You're welcome. Also, you and Chase? You aren't fooling anyone." Future Leo said quiet enough so only Chase and I could hear. Our eyes widened as we looked at one another, then at Leo, who smiled and waved.

Future Leo sat down in the time machine, Present Leo walking up to him. "Stay smooth."

"Only if you do." He winked as I rolled my eyes. "Enjoy the next seven years, man. They go by in the blink of an eye." He continued. I felt a small pain in my heart, the realization that I would eventually forget about this day striking me.

Future Leo disappeared in a blinding light, Leo choking up. "Wow... I miss me already."

Chase yanked me into the janitor's closet, flicking on the lights as he held my arms tightly. "I need to tell you this now. Because yesterday showed me that our lives are short and we need to live in the moment." He said as I held back a loud laugh with a small, confused chuckle.

"Chase what are you-"

"I love you, Vanessa." He cut me off, shocking both me and my heart. Is this actually happening or am I dreaming it again?

"You— you what?" I asked, feeling like I didn't hear him right.

"I love you. And Future Leo was right, this Leo already knows we are together. He's know for weeks. Apparently there are security cameras in the equipment room." Chase said as his eyes clouded with horror, mine as well.

"So.. so you mean he's seen-"

"Everything." Chase muttered as we both shivered before I took in a breath.

"I love you too, Chase. And it's not just because you said it. I truly mean it. I love you." I smiled as he grinned, the two of us sharing a kiss as he pressed me against the wall.

And then the janitor showed up, so that was awkward.
