Introduction 5- Rey Fields.

Rey's P. O. V

"Okay, I'll see you in school," I said before hanging up.

Our school put forth this shitty scheme of going to a freaking different country. They expect us to win this competition with a team we have never fucking met in our entire life.

Just great.

I move towards the kitchen and scream 'hello' loudly, a little part of me expecting a hello back.

Nothing came. As usual.

My parents are so busy making a fortune for me and my sister that they forget to meet us or spend time with us. Every morning, a little part of me along with my hope dies when I don't see either of them. I don't remember the last time I met them.

I stopped calling a long time ago. I don't like calling people who make me feel like I'm annoying them. In case of my parents, it was always like that.

I see my breakfast ready on the lavish kitchen counter. My house screamed money from every corner. Expensive decor with antiques which my parents buy to show off their wealth and then dump it in our home. They probably never even see it again because they barely come home.

I look around for my housekeeper, Evelyn, who takes care of us like a mother, since my mother decided it was not her thing. I don't see her anywhere and I concluded that she will probably be with Amber, my sister.

I sit alone at the kitchen counter, still for a few minutes, trying to enjoy this silence. It's like I'm waiting for a family to magically appear and be around me, eating breakfast, together.

Pointless wishes.

I just eat my breakfast alone and move outside of my house to my car, before driving off to school.

"Sir, what you want us to do is really difficult and we really need this recommendation. Please sir, you have to find another way," Ethan requests the officials sitting in front of us, in the conference room of our school. We are trying to persuade them to change it into something which is more achievable. They make no effort to hide the fact that they are beyond annoyed with us.

"There is just one way, young man. That is that you forget this recommendation letter and forget about getting admission in a good Institute," the official put it across in strict terms, leaving no more room for argument.

Ethan gives me a defeated and hopeful look. I know he wants me to say something but I continue to be quiet.

I know, he is feeling really betrayed right now since I haven't said a single word this entire time. It's not because I'm satisfied with the decision the board has taken. It's because I can see something is fishy and I'm trying to figure it out.

These people are behaving as if they want to get rid of us. That would have been normal since they are busy and we are pestering them. But they don't only want to get this over with, they also want it to end in their favour, no matter what. That's why they are still talking to us.

They could have easily sent us away by saying that they will try their best and bullshit like that. Instead, they want us to leave and before leaving they want to make sure that we go to India. It's like their following someone's orders. Like someone has put a gun point to their head and they would be in trouble if Ethan and I don't agree to this. And I guess I know who it is.

Ethan turns around and leaves. I give them one long meaningful look before leaving behind Ethan. Luckily, while Ethan was talking to them, they were distracted enough to not notice me sticking an electronic bug under their table.

Once I'm out and their door is closed, I pull Ethan back by the collar. He turns and is about to scream. I cover his mouth with my hand before he does that. I sign to him to keep quiet and hide behind the wall of the conference room.

I remove my phone and connect to the small microphone bug to my phone.

The bug I attached under the table is a small microphone through which we will be able to hear exactly what those people are talking.

I sign Ethan to listen.

"Yes, Mr Raynott, the job is done."

"No, we will not let your son back out of this."

"Yeah, we will make sure he attempts this challenge."

"Thank you sir."

I was right. It is Ethan's father who is behind all this.

Ethan first looks flabbergasted and then his expression slowly turns to anger and disgust. He turns on his heels and takes off before I could stop him.

This guy has some serious brain issues.

I run behind him. Yeah I need to run because the guy is a fucking athlete and he has really long legs. Not than I'm not fit, it's just that I'm not as fit as him.

I don't notice his long legs but I know it because in times like this it's hard to catch up. I only notice female legs. Don't judge.

"Ethan wait!" I yell while running in the school corridors like a freaking retard.

"Not happening," he replies.

"Ethan just wait and listen. I have an idea," I scream and that's when he turns around and crosses his arm on his chest.

I smirk at him and silently pray to God that this works, because it will be our last hope.
