Amber's P. O. V

The bright rays falling and burning my skin on the face, wake me up.

Why is it so hot early in the morning today?

Why has no one come to wake me up still?

That's when I sit up slightly.

"Good morning," Krisanne's happy voice reaches me and I smile.

"Good morning," I say before rubbing my eyes.

"I woke up early?" I ask, hoping I'd get to laze around in bed for a little more time.

"Um-if 12 pm is early than yeah, you're early today," she says seriously but I don't fail to catch the slight sarcasm in it.

"What?! Its 12? Why didn't you wake me up? Don't I have to go somewhere today?" I ask her slightly shocked and she chuckles.

"No, today you enjoy you're day because you're the only one who has nothing to do," she says and I smile before stretching my hands and legs.

Wow. I like this very much.

That's when I hear her chuckle.

I frown before asking."What happen, what's so funny?"

She clears her throat."It's just that you and Vihaan are so similar as far as sleeping is concerned. I remember the goofy and happy smile he always has on his face the moment he comes to know that we don't have an early morning lecture or he doesn't have school next day at all. For him, it means sleeping and that's happiness for him," she explains and I smile.

"Yeah, sleep is happiness. An escape from reality," I agree sitting up straighter and just staring ahead."What are the others doing?" I ask and hear her turning a page.

"Ayana and Vihaan have gone to college to handle matters, Ethan had gone for swimming in the morning and now he's sleeping and resting for his evening swimming session. You're brother is sitting in the other room and researching on the topics I gave him. He's understanding everything for tomorrow," she explains and I nod.

"So what do I do today?" I ask and I can imagine her shrugging.

"Do whatever you want to do," she says and I sigh before thinking.

What is it that I can do?

"I really don't know what to do ya Krisanne. What do you guys do around here when you'll are bored?" I say and she about to start off when the bell rings.

"I'll just be back," she says and I move the covers off myself.

"I'm coming too," I say and I hear the door click open. I walk towards it to find it left open. I grope in the air for the door knob till I find it and I pull the door close behind me.

I hear sounds of three girls talking outside when I'm nearing the hall. I find myself wanting to reach there faster, my legs on the floor and hands on the wall moving faster in response.

Finally my hand reaches the cavity in the wall and as soon as I move towards the cavity, I hear the cheery voice from yesterday.

"Amber! Hi!" Amna exclaims and I smile hesitantly.

"Hey," I say softly and move further into the hall, taking smaller cautious steps since there's no wall to guide me.

"Hi," there's another unknown voice in the hall and I furrow my brows, trying to recognise the voice before giving up."Hey," I say nervously.

"Amber, I'm guessing you have met Amna and the other one is Delnaz. They're both on the academic team with me," Krisanne introduces and I smile.

"Oh-okay. Nice to meet you guys," I say and Krisanne follows.

"Okay Amber, they're here to work with me and you're brother. Want to sit through it with us?" she asks me and I shrug.

"It's not like I have anything better to do."

I wish I had something better to do.

I had sat with Krisanne, Delnaz, Amna and my brother for hours together while they studied. Almost all morning and afternoon, I sat there, just listening to their nerdy talks.

I did learn alot about the country I'm currently in, but then I didn't want to simply because it's holiday time. Another time, I would have probably taken notes.

Ethan woke up but since Ayana had not returned, he went to sleep again.

The two girls just left and I'm still sitting there, on the couch, doing absolutely nothing.

"Amber, are you okay?" Krisanne's concerned voice calls out and I snap out of my trance.

"Huh?" I ask, slightly taken aback.

"I asked, are you okay? You look like you're about to bawl your eyes out and cry," she says and I shake my head before straightening my lost look.

I smiled at her."Yeah, I'm okay."

She doesn't reply for a few moments and I could feel the hesitance in her voice when she did."You're bored, aren't you?" she asks and my smile drops.

I sigh before rubbing the back of my neck and nodding.

Just then the bell rings.

"I'll go get that," Krisanne says and I mentally pray it's not other two members of any other team.

"Oh my god, I'm so tired, I need to sleep," Vihaan's grumpy voice walks in followed shortly by Ayana's irritated one.

"Yeah, tired of sitting right?"

"Guys, calm down. Take a deep breath," Krisanne yells, efficiently shutting them up before continuing,"Vihaan, do one thing, you entertain Amber, she's bored. Ayana, Ethan woke up once already and he wants you to wake him up in case there's practice."

There's silence for a few moments before-

"Oh fuck, I completely forgot! Ethan!" Ayana says and I hear her voice walking away.

"Irresponsible and lazy people I tell you," Vihaan says and I jump up because his voice comes from near me and I didn't even realise when that happened.

"I heard that. I'll deal with you later, you better be ready," Ayana yells and I chuckle.

I could almost feel Vihaan roll his eyes.

"Vihaan, how about you take Amber to the terrace? Its windy and there's a garden too," Krisanne says and my face pales but I don't let it show.

"Yeah, okay," Vihaan says in a bored tone before I hear the sound of a chair scraping backwards.

"Vihaan, if you're tired, it's fine you know," I say and there's silence for a few moments before Vihaan speaks up.

"No no Amber, it's fine. I'll take you," he says and I put up a fake smile before getting up.

We walk to the door and stand outside, waiting for the elevator. The elevator door pings and I hear them open before I raise my hand in the air to touch the wall. Once I find the wall, I walk to its side, into the elevator.

"Vihaan?"

"Yeah, I'm right here," he says and we both stand in the elevator in silence while it takes us to the terrace.

I fiddle with my fingers discreetly, trying to get my anxiety in control.

"You're alright na?" Vihaan asks me from beside me and I jerk my head in the direction of the voice. I straighten my expression before smiling and nodding.

He leaves it to that and there's silence in the lift once again.

It last for a couple of minutes because next thing I know is the ping sound comes again and I hear the elevator door open.

I could feel the cool breeze from outside even on the inside and I take a deep breath, but my legs were not moving.

"Amber? You sure you want to come?" a slightly worried Vihaan asks me and I look at him before nodding. This time I couldn't bring myself to smile though.

I walk two steps ahead and a cool breeze blows past me, making my hair fly. I could feel it spread onto my skin, giving me goose bumps. My t-shirt flew too, rising a little so I could feel the air directly on my skin on the lower back.

I walk ahead but with very tiny and hesitant steps, almost forgetting the boy beside me.

"So you're scared of heights."

A/N- I hope you guys enjoy this. I would have updated yesterday itself but my WiFi decided it's a good time to break down.

Also, I have gotten a little busy so the updates are going to be slow. Even though I want to finish this book at least before my college starts so...
