*Just to remind everybody, Caroline does not know about Tyler being Madelyn's father!*

"Good morning, Elskan." Elijah whispers, the sound of his voice sending pleasant shivers down her spine. She cuddles closer to Elijah, his arms tightening around her. He kisses the top of her head gently. "Today I am to be with Elena's Aunt Jenna. She is to show me around some of the more historical sites of Mystic Falls."

"Jenna is a very nice person... You won't hurt her will you?" She asked looking up at him. Every time Elijah stares into her beautiful eyes, he feels as if she puts him under a spell and he would have it no other way.

"You have my word, I will not harm her." Elijah reassures her. She smiles and leans up to kiss him. He smiles and meets her half way. He pushes her on her back and climbs over her, his body offering her a comforting warmth. "Will you join us?" He wonders pressing his forehead on hers.

"I would but I have to watch Madelyn and I need to talk to Caroline" Elijah nods not pressuring her to do anything.

"Do you wish for me to stay with you?" He questions a hand coming up to her face, his knuckles brushing against her skin.

"I always want you to stay with me" She pulls him closer to her, he relaxes his body on top of her. His head nuzzles into her neck. One arm wraps around his lower back while the other smooths over his hair. Elijah's heart swells at her statement. "But I can handle Caroline and you told Jenna you would go with her."

"You and Caroline will work things out" Elijah reassures her. "Caroline loves you just as much as you love her."

"I just wish things were simpler" She whispered to him. "We're my friends didn't have to worry about trusting me and I didn't have to worry about trusting them. Where I wouldn't have to worry about you."

"Why do you worry about me?" He asks raising his head to look into her eyes.

"I love my friends but they're so focused on keeping Elena safe that I worry what they'll do to you." She whispers. "It doesn't matter my connection to you, they'll do anything to keep her safe."

"You have nothing to worry about, Elskan" He reassures her. "The only thing that can hurt me is you and I know that even if they're focused on saving Elena, they won't hurt you to get to me."

"Damon is very unpredictable, Elijah" She tells him. "He's alright when Stefan has control of him but now they have a common goal, protect Elena. I don't know how far they'll go."

"Elskan, please relax" He pleads. He places his lips on hers and she instantly responds. "Nothing will happen to you, nothing will happen to Madelyn, nothing will happen to me. Caroline and you will work things out. Everything will be alright."

"I love you, Elijah" She whispers to him. He smiles and kisses her again. He rolls onto his back, pulling her with him.

"I love you so much more, Elskan" He whispers before kissing her nose. She smile widely at him.

"I should get up" Claire whispers. Elijah smirks and rolls her back over, his grip on her tightening.

"Or we can stay here forever" He grumbles in a rustic voice. Claire moans as his leaves a trail of kisses down her neck. One of his arms stay wrapped around her waist while the other slides down her body and cups under her thigh. He slides in between her legs, raising the one he grips and hooks it around his waist.

"Elijah" Claire breaths as he grinds into her hips. Her heart races in her chest, his lips kiss her speeding pulse. Elijah could feel his desire for her build. Before he could help himself, his fangs elongate an grazed against her skin causing a gasp to escape her lips. "Go ahead" She whispers to him. "I trust you."

Elijah sighs and forces his fangs to retreat. He places a soft kiss on her neck, right at her pulse. He leaves his head nuzzled in her neck for a few more moments before he leans up and places his lips on hers.

"Why didn't you drink?" Claire wonders curiously. He looks into her eyes, admiring their beauty.

"Drinking the blood of a human is different than drinking the blood of your mate" He tells her. "It'll strengthen our bond more than you can imagine. We'll become more connected. You'll have access to my thoughts, if you so wish. You'll be able to sense my emotions, if I have pain. You'll feel more drawn to me than you ever have before." He explains. "I'm not sure if you're ready for that. Not right now, with everything going on."

"I think you might be right" She whispers. He grins and kisses her forehead.

"Let me know how things go with Caroline but I must get going" He says reluctantly climbing off the bed. She pouts and turns on her side to watch him. He goes over to Madelyn and smiles at her.

"I'll see you tonight?" Claire wonders. His head turns to her.

"Nothing will stop me" He reassures. She smiles at him and beacons him to come back to her. He grins and does as told. He bends down and kisses her again. "I love you" he mutters against her lips.

"I love you more" She whispers her reply. He smiles and runs his hand over her hair.

"So beautiful" He mutters before disappearing. She smiles laying on her back and touches her lips lightly. She lay there, imaging him still with her. She's brought from her thoughts when Madelyn cries out.

"I hear you, Madelyn, I'm coming" Claire said climbing out of the bed. Once Madelyn was taken care of, Claire brought her into the main room. "Where are you going?" Claire asked seeing Caroline getting ready to leave.

"Bonnie asked for my help with something" Caroline said avoiding eye contact.

"With what?" Claire asked but Caroline hesitates to answer. "Am I really that untrustworthy that you can't even look at me when we talk?" Caroline sighs and looks over at Claire. The mother sets Madelyn down in her playpen.

"I do trust you" Caroline said walking over to her.

"Don't lie to me" Claire said. "You've never been good at it." Caroline sighs. "What have you been keeping from me Caroline? Does this have to do with Elijah?" The look on Caroline's face confirms her suspicions. "What were you doing with that boy yesterday? Claire questions.

"We were asking him about the sacrifice, about Klaus" Caroline tells her.

"What did you find out?" She asked curiously. Caroline presses her lips together with much hesitation. "Caroline, you're my twin sister" Claire said walking up to her. "I will always choose you. Maybe not before Madelyn but if it was between you and Elijah, I choose you." Caroline smiles at her. "Please, trust me... What did you find out?"

"Elijah wants to kill Klaus." Caroline told her. Claire controls her feelings. She nods to Caroline already knowing this, her heart beating painfully in her chest like every other time she thought about Klaus being killed. "And the way he's doing it is.... He wants to go through with the sacrifice, he's going to let Elena die."

"No" Claire shakes her head walking away from Caroline. "Elijah would have told me if he was planning on doing that"

"Would he?" Caroline asked raising her eyebrows. "It's obvious Elijah cares for you-"

"He loves me" Claire tried not to snap. "And I love him. He wouldn't keep something like this from me" She shakes her head.

"He would if he was worried he would lose you over it" Caroline tried to explain. "We didn't tell you because we were worried you would tip Elijah off and he would retaliate." Caroline said.

"If you wanted to know something, you should have come to me. I would have asked Elijah, it would have saved you from sneaking around." Claire told her.

"What if he didn't tell you the truth?" Caroline asked.

"He would never lie to me" Claire growled.

"Claire, you've barely known him for two weeks." Caroline deadpans. "How can you confess your love for him? How can you trust him so much? He's trying to kill Elena!"

"No, he's not!" She snapped. "How do you know that that boy you questioned wasn't lying?" Claire asked crossing her arms.

"Because Bonnie did a spell. He couldn't lie" Caroline snipped. "I'm telling you the truth, Elijah is going to let Elena die. So, who doesn't trust who now?" Claire sighed sitting on the couch putting her head in her hands. Caroline's body visibly relaxes as she suddenly feels guilty for being so rude.

"I don't know how to explain it, Caroline" Claire whispers softly. "I just.. I know Elijah would never lie to me, nor would he keep something like this from me. I trust you both but I think there's more to this than what that boy told you. Elijah doesn't tell anybody everything, even I have to ask for specific details sometimes. I have to trust that he has a plan that will get Elena out of this alive" Claire told her.

"How can Elena live if she goes through this sacrifice like Elijah wants her too?" Caroline asks.

"I don't know" Claire shrugs. "But I can't just assume the worst, I have to give him the benefit of the doubt." Claire told her as Caroline sat beside her. "Don't think the worst of him before you get to know him. He would never do anything that would hurt me or make me upset."

"I know" Caroline sighed. "I hear his declarations of love nightly. Mr. Perfect can be suffocatingly romantic" She rolls her eyes and Claire laughs. "I'm sorry for sneaking around" Caroline said smiling at her. "I do trust you, you're my twin sister. There's no one more important to me... besides maybe Madelyn." The sisters smile and hug each other. "Just for the record, I'll always choose you" She whispers. Claire smiles and tightens her grip on Caroline.

"BTBFF?" Claire whispers pulling away. She holds up her pinkie and Caroline smiles. Caroline links their pinkies and press their foreheads together.

"BTBFF" Caroline mutters quietly.

"I love you, Caroline" Claire whispers. The sisters hug each other again.

"I love you, too" Caroline mutters. "Probably not the best time to ask... but about that unlimited credit card Elijah offered..." Claire laughs pulling away. Caroline smirked. "I could really use new shoes." Claire nudges her sister teasingly.

"I'll see what I can do." Caroline grins happily. "So, is there anything else I should know about? Anything you guys have been keeping from me?" Claire asked.

"I don't even know. Damon and Stefan don't really disclose information to us, strictly need to know basis" Caroline rolls her eyes. Claire sighs and slouches on the couch. "Do you really love, Elijah?" Caroline asks.

"With all my heart" Claire said looking at her. "It's different than what I had with Tyler. My relationship with Tyler was like child's play compared to this." Claire muttered. Caroline smiled at Claire.

"I'm happy for you" Caroline said nudging her. Claire smiled sheepishly. "Don't you have to go see Bonnie?"

"I'd rather stay with you" Caroline said getting comfortable on the couch. "I'm so glad we talked about this, I hate sneaking around." Caroline said relaxing.

"Me too. Get comfortable, we'll watch some movies. I'm going to call Elijah, let him know everything's ok and we'll have a twin day." Caroline grinned and nodded. Claire stood up and walked to the kitchen pulling out her phone.

"Hello, my beautiful Elskan" Elijah greets. Claire instantly grins from ear to ear.

"Hello, Elijah" She greets the happiness she's feeling shows through her voice.

"I assume you have good news" He said picking up on her tone.

"Caroline and I talked and everything is good again." Claire nods.

"Just like I said" Elijah said politely telling her 'I-told-you-so'. Claire grins nodding.

"Elijah, when are you coming home?" She asks turning serious. 

"The Salvatore's have invited me over, I shall see you afterwards." Elijah said.

"They're having you over? Are you sure you should go?" Claire asked worriedly.

"I will be fine, Elskan" He reassures softly. "And I will see you tonight."

"Please, be careful, Elijah. I don't trust them, not with you, especially Damon." Claire told him. Elijah smiles liking the idea of her concerned about him, though he knew it wasn't necessary.

"I don't trust the either. I will be fine." He tells her yet again. "Have fun with Madelyn and Caroline, relax and enjoy your day. I will see you tonight."

"Alright, I love you" Claire said smiling.

"I love you more, Elskan" He replies before hanging up. Claire sighs lowering the phone.

"You two need an adult date" Caroline said. Claire spins around to look at her. "Nice night of romance with some rated R action afterwards" Caroline smirked. Claire rolls her eyes.

"A date would be nice, the rater R action will probably have to wait." Claire said walking out of the kitchen.

"Why?" Caroline asks.

"Because you sleep in the bedroom across from mine and my daughter sleeps in a crib right next to my bed." Claire tells her obviously. Caroline slowly nods seeing the dilemma.

"So, why don't you two go on a nice date and a hotel afterwards?" Caroline asks. "I'll watch Madelyn."

"That sounds... so nice" Claire mutters the two of them falling on the couch. "I'll set something up and let you know" Caroline nodded smiling at her.

"So, what movie should we watch?" Caroline asked.

"Legally Blonde?" Claire suggests. Caroline instantly smiles and nods in agreement.
