"Elijah, I know what you've been avoiding me... I don't even know if you're listening to these messages" Claire sighs pacing in the living room. The phone pressed to her ear. Her eyes continue to glance at the clock, the sun has long sense set. She knew it was only a matter of time before Klaus broke his curse and Elijah would kill him. "If you are listening, then please, I beg of you, do not kill him. I know you don't trust him, I don't either but I want him to live. I want to give him the chance to earn my trust. He won't harm Madelyn, he's given me his word and I know he will keep it. Please, Elijah, don't take him from me." She begs. "I love you, I love you so much, don't do this." 

Claire reluctantly hangs up the phone. Her shoulders slump when she sees Caroline has yet to contact her. She goes to call her sister when she comes barreling into the room.

"I know where it is" She says instantly.

"Do you know their plan?" Claire asks.

"They're going to let Klaus break the curse. When he's in transition Bonnie's going to bring him to the brink of death and...." Caroline hesitates.

"Elijah's going to kill him." Claire whispers. Caroline gives her a sympathetic smile. Claire slowly shakes her head.

"We have time" Claire said. "If you can get me there, I can stop Bonnie and Elijah." Claire said.

"And I'll keep Stefan and Damon away from you." Caroline said. Claire nodded. She takes a moment to turn to Madelyn. If things got out of hand, Claire could potentially get severely hurt. She doubted she would die but Stefan and Damon would be unpredictable when it comes to Elena and killed Klaus. "You're not having second thoughts are you?"

"Of course not" Claire said instantly. "I just... Wish we didn't have to do this." Claire mutters.

"Neither do I but if we're going to save Klaus, we have to go now." Claire sighs and nods. She moves away from Madelyn, knowing her mother was somewhere in the house to watch after her. Caroline holds her hand out.

"Thank you for helping me." Claire says smiling at her.

"We're sisters, you would do the same thing for me." Caroline said.

"In a heartbeat" Caroline smiles and grabs a hold of Claire. The two of them disappear, Caroline racing them through the woods. Once they arrived, Caroline stops within the trees, keeping them hidden.

Caroline keeps a tight hold on Claire, keeping them hidden within the trees. Claire frantically looks around. She sees a witch in the distance with Elena's dead body beside her. Despite everything, it hurt to see Elena like that. Claire wouldn't help but to gasp when she sees the vampire Klaus used was Elena's Aunt Jenna. She didn't want this fate for her and if she had known this was going to happen, she would have stopped Klaus. Jenna was innocent, she didn't deserve this. She then noticed the werewolf was Jules, not Tyler. She felt a small pang of disappointment at that but didn't dwell.

"No! You were dead!" Klaus screams. Claire instantly looks at him. Tears came to her eyes. She hated seeing him in so much pain. She wanted to stop it, she wanted to help. She follows his gaze and sees Bonnie.

"Wait" Caroline pleads. While Claire was looking at Bonnie, Caroline was watching Stefan and Damon. She could hear them and knew Damon was about to leave with Elena's body. It would be a lot easier to protect Claire if Damon wasn't here. She could handle Stefan confidently but both the brothers? She doubted she was that good.

"Caroline she's killing him!" Claire snapped frantically. Caroline keeps a hold of her until Damon disappears. Then she releases Claire. The younger twin dashes towards Bonnie. She tackles her to the ground breaking Bonnie's concentration.

Stefan's eyes widened and he moved to separate them. Caroline shot forward and broke Stefan's neck. She wasn't sure if Damon was completely gone so she kept her head on a swivel. 

"I'm sorry Bonnie" Claire whispers. "I can't let you kill him." Bonnie screams as Claire siphons from her.  Claire only takes enough to knock her out. She stands and moves away from Bonnie.

"Elijah's here" Claire turns her head seeing Henrik. She takes a moment to smile at him and Henrik smiles back. "Go save my brother" Henrik urges. She nods turning away from him.

"Elijah, stop!" Claire screams. Her heart leaps into her throat seeing Elijah's hand in Klaus's chest, gripping his heart. "Please don't do this" She cries.

"I'm trying to protect you and avenge my siblings" Elijah said keeping his eyes on Klaus knowing if he looked at her he'd cave in an instant. 

"He didn't throw them in the ocean!" She shouts inching towards him. Caroline shifts on her feet anxiously. Elijah's head turns to her slightly but he keeps his eyes on his brother. "He didn't throw them in the ocean" She repeats. "And he's not going to hurt me. He can't, he's my soulmate just like you are. And he's vowed to not harm Madelyn."

"It's true" Klaus groans. Elijah looks at him more intently. "I've made her a promise, I will not break it."

"Elijah, don't" Stefan groaned slowly waking up.

"Shut up" Caroline snapped breaking his neck again. 

"Elijah, listen to me..." Claire whispers inching towards him. "Elijah, don't kill him. I don't want you to do this. Look at me" She whispers. Klaus glances at her but she keeps her gaze on Elijah. "You kill him and you hurt me." Elijah instantly looks at her.

"Do you remember the pain you felt when you almost lost me to Trevor? Or when you almost lost me when those wolves kidnapped Caroline?" Claire questions. Elijah whimpers quietly at the memories. "If you kill him it will be so much worse than those feeling combined. Don't kill him. Spare him, for me." Elijah sighs releasing his brother's heart. Once Elijah was away from him, Klaus screams.

"Klaus" She instantly does towards him but Elijah grabs her as Klaus raises his hand.

"Stay away" He cries out. Claire struggles in Elijah's grip.

"What's happening?" She cried.

"He's turning into his wolf form" Elijah tells her. Claire instantly thinks about the pain she saw Mason go through on the video. She remembers Tyler explaining it to her. Now her soulmate was going through that pain.

"Let go of me" Claire begged wanting to comfort Klaus.

"I'm not doing that" Elijah snips. 

"Get her out of here" Klaus growls, his eyes flashing gold. He growls like an animal before speeding away, not wanting Claire to see him like this.

"He'll be alright, I promise." Elijah whispers to her.

"Will you stay with him?" Claire whispers looking at Elijah. "Make sure they don't try to kill him again."

"If that's what you want" He mutters kissing her forehead.

"Are you angry with me?" Claire whispers. Elijah smiles at her and shakes his head.

"No... I expected this" Elijah mutters. "I just hope you're right about him." He mutters not wanting to even think about Klaus harming her.

"Me too" She mutters. Elijah pulls her into a gentle kiss before leaving to watch over his brother. Claire watches Elijah speed off as Caroline walks over to her.

"Well.... That was dramatic" Caroline said trying to lighten the mood. Claire smiles at her.

"I couldn't have done it without you" Claire says honestly. Caroline smiles and wraps her arm around her shoulders. "We should get going. I don't know how Klaus will react as a werewolf. I don't know if he'll attack us or not." 

"Right, good point." The twins turn towards Stefan and Bonnie. 

"Everything's going to change." Caroline mutters looking at them knowing they used to be friends but doubted that would continue.

"We'll still have each other" Claire smiles grabbing her hand. Caroline smiles and nods. Stefan groans and stands up.

"Where-Where's Klaus?" Stefan asked looking around.

"Klaus survived" Claire told him. "You should get somewhere safe, it's a full moon." Stefan clenches his jaw and looks at Bonnie. He instantly kneels beside her. "I just knocked her out, she'll be alright."

"Come on" Caroline mutters grabbing Claire before speeding away. When they arrive they see Matt sitting on the steps. "Matt? What are you doing here?"

"Well, I just got done running from my best friend who is a werewolf." Matt said standing up. "And I know you're a vampire and you're a witch." He said looking at the sisters unable to keep the secret in any longer.

"How do you know? I compelled you to forget" Caroline frowns her eyebrows.

"I was on vervain." Matt admitted. "I faked forgetting so I could spy on you." Matt told them.

"You what?" Claire snapped.

"It was your mom's idea" Matt confessed.

"Of course it was" Claire grumbles.

"Wait, our mom knows?!" Caroline panicked. "You told her."

"What did she say?" Claire wonders.

"Your mom hates vampires. She grew up hating vampires. She'll probably always hate vampires." Matt said. Caroline looked wounded and Claire grabs her hand giving it a squeeze.

"Well, what about you?" Caroline asked.

"What about me?" Matt asked.

"Where does this leave us?" Caroline asked nervously.

"You know, these last few days with you have been so great... and fun." Matt said. Caroline smiles but Claire gets a bad feeling in her stomach. "And I thought I might be able to get past this whole vampire thing." Matt said.

"But you can" Caroline said letting go of Claire, inching towards Matt.

"I don't... I don't know if I can, Caroline." Matt sighs. "I get it. This is your life no. You know what my life is, Care? My life is an absentee mom. And a bunch of bills to pay, and school, and a job, and it.. and it sucks sometimes but it's my life. And.. I think I just want to live without all of this." Matt said gently. Caroline presses her lips together and nods.

"I think you should go" Claire mutters. Matt presses his lips together and nods. He walks past them and into his truck. "Come on" Claire mutters pulling Caroline into the house.

"I think I'm just gonna... go to bed" Caroline muttered walking away from her sister. Claire sighs watching her leave. Claire walks into her room an changes into something more comfortable before going to her sisters room.

"Twin night? Plus Madelyn" Claire said smiling at her daughters crib in the corner of the room.

"I'm not in the mood" Caroline muttered climbing into bed. Claire smiles and climbs in beside her.

"I'm not going anywhere, Care-bear" Claire said. Caroline looks at Claire and smiles. Though tears quickly come to her eyes and soon she's crying. Claire sighs and hugs her sister tightly. "We're going to be ok, Care-bear" She whispers.

"I hate that this is our life now" Caroline whimpers. "We're losing our friends. Mom hates me."

"We'll gain more friends" Claire tells her. "And the friends we make will be better ones. Ones that won't force us to take sides. And mom... We'll convince her that you're still you and not some no-humanity vampire. We'll make it work, I promise" Claire reassures.

For the next couple days, Claire and Caroline avoided their mother like the plague. They avoided everybody. Claire stayed with Caroline knowing she needed support right now. Caroline was clinging to any piece of humanity she could have, which at the moment, is only Claire and Madelyn.

While Claire was looking after her sister, Elijah looks after his brother. Klaus went rabid throughout the town. He killed day and night. Though Elijah did notice that when Klaus went to lay down for sleep, he always choose an area less than a mile from Claire's home.

"You've been busy" Elijah says when Klaus finally shifts back into his human form. Elijah throws him some clothes as Klaus sits up, a grin on his face.

"That was amazing" Klaus comments. He glances at his brother. "How long has it been?"

"Almost two days. Full moon came and went. You remained a wolf." Elijah explains.

"I can change at will, then" Klaus nods standing up, shrugging on some pants. "It's good to know. I remember every single kill." He tells his brother feeling almost giddy.

"Yes, I've been cleaning up your little mess along the way." Elijah said grumpily. He would have rather stayed with Claire than look after his brother but this is what she wanted, though that didn't mean he had to be happy about it.

"Just like old times, brother" Klaus smirks.

"You've had your fun, now tell me what you've done with our siblings" Elijah demands getting closer to him.

"Don't worry, brother, they're not in the ocean. I promised the beautiful Claire that I would undagger them before the year ends" Klaus assures his brother. Elijah grips his brothers arm.

"If you do not keep your word to her, I will find a way to kill you." Elijah growls. "If you hurt her or Madelyn-"

"I wouldn't dream of harming her" Klaus growls angry his brother would think he'd hurt his own mate. "Or Madelyn" He adds.

"Good because the only reason you're alive is because of her, remember that" Elijah said dropping his hand.

"Then I shall thank her personally" Klaus smirks. Elijah growls and Klaus rolls his eyes. "Oh relax Elijah, trust me" He grins. 

"You know when you slept, you slept less than a mile from her" He said. Klaus smiles and takes in a breath.

"I can smell her from here" Klaus tells him. "I will keep my promise to her, Elijah. She's my mate too" He says. Elijah sighs knowing he would have to get used to sharing her, he didn't want too but knew he didn't have a choice.

"She has a way to bring Henrik back." Elijah said. Klaus tenses immensely. His mind instantly goes to the night his little brother was killed. "She sees him from the Other Side. Their souls are connected. He's a grown man now."

"He was human, he should have found peace." Klaus said looking at Elijah.

"He tapped into his magic, he just didn't tell anybody." Elijah tells him. "I spoke to him, Claire was able to show me. It takes a lot out of her."

"She's an exquisite creature" Klaus comments smirking. Elijah smiles and nods.

"And just so you know, brother" Elijah says regaining his attention. "My bond with her is complete. She can feel anything that happens to me, so I suggest you restrain yourself from ever daggering me again."

"Dagger you? My own brother?" Klaus smirks patting his back. "Wouldn't dream of it." Elijah rolls his eyes. "Now if you'll excuse me, I wish to see our mate." He said walking through the woods and towards the neighborhood. Elijah watches Klaus before disappearing. As much as he wanted to see Claire, he would give them their time alone knowing Klaus wasn't going to stick around.

Klaus reaches the neighborhood. He takes in another breath, following Claire's scent. He walks up to the house and knocks on the door. Caroline opens the door.

"Hello, love" Klaus greets. "Mind letting me in?" Caroline doesn't say anything because Claire appears behind her and invites him him.

"I'll come back later" Caroline said.

"Caroline"Claire sighs following her sister outside.

"I'm fine" Caroline reassures. "I just.. need some time" Claire nods watching her sister leave.

"Rough day, sweetheart?" Klaus questions. She turns to him. A smile appears on her lips.

"Glad to see you're still alive." Claire smiles at him.

"Glad that your glad that I'm alive" Klaus comments. Claire grins and reenters the house.

"How do you feel? Now that the curse is broken?" Claire asks.

"Complete" He asks grinning. "Stronger than I've ever been, unstoppable."

"Happy?" She asks him. He tilts his head slightly. "Are you happy?"

"Of course I am." He nods. Claire smiles.

"Good" She rocks on her feet awkwardly. "When are you leaving?" She asked looking at him.

"Tonight" He tells her. She nods looking down at her shoes. She didn't want him to leave but she wouldn't force him to stay. Klaus inches towards her. "The offer to come with me still stands." He whispers. She looks at him, extremely tempted to go with him.

"You know I can't" She whispers. Klaus sighs nodding. He cups the side of her face gently. She rubs her head into his hand.

"I won't be gone long" He promises.

"I'll be here"

They look into each others eyes. Claire silently begging him not to go. He presses her forehead on hers. She closes her eyes, enjoying the closeness of his body.

"Please open your eyes" He whispers. "I want to see them, their beautiful" Claire complies. "Perfect" He mutters.

"You should go.. I'm sure you have to prepare to leave" She whispers. She wanted to stay with Klaus, she never wanted him to leave. But he is leaving and she knew the longer her stayed with her, the harder it would be to let him go.

"I will" He tells her. "After this" He mutters before pressing his lips on hers. Claire instantly grabs his shirt pulling him to her. He pulls her hips against his, completely dominating the kiss.

Claire felt like it was perfect. As if his lips were molded to compliment hers. It was passionate and demanding, hungry for more. It was like Klaus was trying to prove to Claire how powerful he is, how strong and dominating he is.

Claire didn't care about his power, all she wanted was him. He didn't understand that though. He didn't understand how she could want him without the power, the strength. He felt like he had to prove himself and the way he was going to do it was build his hybrid army.

"I had to do that" Klaus mutters against her lips. "Even if it was just once."
