"Finn" Sage whispered standing at the opposite end of the hallway. Finn's head snapped towards her. She smiles and flashes in front of him. The instant she's close enough Finn wraps a hand around her throat and slams her into the school lockers. She gasps and claws at his wrist.

"You allied yourself with the man who kidnapped my mate." He growled tightening his grip on her. "Why?" He couldn't fathom why Sage is still in Mystic Falls. He told her to leave, he told her he didn't want to be with her, yet here she is.

"I wanted to show you that you're making a mistake" She struggled to tell him. Finn frowns his eyebrows. "With Claire."

"I spared you because of our history together. But now not only have you aided in the kidnapping of my mate but you've harmed her as well."

Sage wanted to talk to him. She wanted to get him to see things from her side. She spent over 900 years waiting for him and now all of the sudden he doesn't want her? She didn't want to give up that easily. She knows who Finn is, she knows everything about him. What did this 18 year old have that she didn't?

"I didn't want to do this but you've hurt my mate and I can't allow you to live." Sage's eyes widened. Finn ripped her daylight ring off and tossed her through the window and out into the sun. She screamed as her body crumbles to the ground.

"Finn." He turns his head seeing Elijah walking towards him hastily. "We're leaving." He told him.

"What about Alaric?" Finn questioned following him towards the exit of the school.

"He's too strong to kill. However, Klaus has found a loophole." Elijah informs him.

"And Claire?" Finn asked.

"Already home with Kol." Elijah assures. Finn nods and the two brothers speed back to the mansion.

Similar to the first life threatening situation Claire went through, Claire's motherly instincts and protectiveness skyrocketed. The instant Kol got her home, she went straight to Madelyn and hasn't left her side since. Kol and Henrik, of course, refused to leave his mates side.

They knew Claire isn't as ok as she says she is. They can feel her fear but she's trying to push it away. All she wants to do is forget about the day and have fun with her baby. However, she found that very hard since three of her mates are still at the high school with Alaric.

Only when they returned, unharmed, did she fully relax. However, she knew Alaric is still out there and the sun won't be up long. Klaus assures her that Alaric won't be a problem for much longer.

"What is Elena doing here?" Claire asks holding Madelyn on her hip. Elijah had tried to take her only to stop at the fierce warning look Claire gave him.

"She is the key to stopping Alaric" Klaus informs her. "Our dear mother tied his life to hers so if she dies so does Alaric. So, I plan on draining her of her blood which will eventually kill her. I'll have blood for my hybrids and Alaric will be dead." Klaus shrugs. "Simple enough." He smirks.

"Is that alright, Elskan?" Elijah asked seeing the troubled look on Claire's face. Claire held no respect for Elena. She didn't like her anymore. However, she wasn't as quick to choose death like her mates, unless it's Tyler Lockwood. She may hate Elena but she didn't want her to die. There were other ways to get back at Elena for all she's done, ways that didn't end in death. Mystery and pain, yes, but not death.

"Sweetheart, this is the only way to get rid of Alaric. As long as Alaric is around we are all in danger." Klaus explains. Claire gives him a small smile.

"I know" She gives him a gentle smile. "I just don't want to be here to see it." She mutters.

"Then why don't we go into the living room?" Henrik suggests instantly. Claire nods giving a knocked out Elena, who is tied to a chair and about to be sucked off of all blood, one last look before going into the living room.

"Elskan, there's something we have to talk about." Elijah says sitting beside her. Claire bounces Madelyn on her leg. Madelyn smiles and giggles making Claire's spirits lift slightly.

"What is it?" Claire asks dividing her attention between him and Madelyn.

"Klaus was going to talk to you about this but with Alaric being a very real threat, I believe we need to discuss things now." He says. Claire nods shifting towards him more. He places a document on the table.

"What is this?" She asks looking at it.

"It's the deed to the mansion. We want it in your name. This way no vampires are able to get in without your specific invitation." Elijah explains. "This means not only are you safer but so is Madelyn." He adds hoping that if he mentioned Madelyn being safer she wouldn't try to argue.

"All I have to do is sign?" Claire asks. Elijah nods. "Alright" Elijah relaxes slightly. He leans over and kisses her forehead. He then stands up and leaves along with his vampire brothers.

Henrik shifts closer to Claire watching as she signed the document. Once she was done she stood up and walked over to the door. Finn tried to enter but couldn't letting them know for sure the mansion is in her name.

While Claire is usually in a playful mood, today isn't one of those days. She honestly just wanted today to be over. So, she simply invited them in without any teasing.

"Would you like to take a bath, Angel?" Henrik asks standing beside her. Claire thought about it, her eyes glancing at Madelyn.

"I can take her for a little bit." Elijah volunteers. Claire glances at him, her grip on Madelyn tightening. She trusts Elijah, she trusts him with both her life and Madelyn's but after today's events Claire didn't want to part with her.

"I think I'll just relax in the living room." Claire gives them smile before walking into the other room.

"She just needs some time." Elijah assures his brothers. "She just went through a very traumatic event, it's a wonder she's taking it so well."

"She's burying her feelings" Kol muttered concerned. "She's trying to ignore what happened."

"We can't force her to react a certain way, all we can do is be there." Henrik spoke up. After he said his piece he walked past his brothers and to his mate.

Claire's sitting on the floor with her knees to her chest watching Madelyn play with her toys intensely. Henrik sighs through his nose and approaches her slowly. She doesn't acknowledge him. He sits behind her and pulls her into his chest, his legs resting on either side of her.

She leans against his chest relaxing more in his embrace. He smiles feeling the tension leaving her body. He rests his chin on her shoulder watching Madelyn as well.

Klaus returns to check on Elena. Elijah goes to make Claire and Madelyn some food, though he doubted Claire would eat much to his dismay. Kol sat near Claire on the floor. He continued to give her sideways glances while playing with Madelyn. Finn opted for the chair slightly behind Claire.

While the majority of Finn's attention is on Claire, a small part of his mind reviews Sage's death. He didn't regret killing her. She hurt and kidnapped Claire, he'd do it again in a heartbeat. However, he still cared for her, no matter how little he did. He spent a god portion of his life with her and now she's gone. He wished things had ended differently but he spared her once only for her to do what she did to Claire, he wouldn't risk sparing her again.

"She should be walking soon" Henrik mutters to Claire. Claire instantly lights up more. It's not a large change in her mood but it's noticeable and in the right direction.

"She's stood up a couple of times but never takes the first step." Claire tells him.

"Soon she'll be running all over the house." Kol says hoping for a smile. Claire gives him one making him feel accomplished.

"Claire!" Claire's head snaps to the door hearing her sisters voice. She instantly stands up and answers it, Henrik right behind her and Kol slightly in the background.

"Come in" Claire invites.

"They gave you the mansion" Caroline mutters in amazement. Claire nods. "I hear you have Elena here and you're planning on killing her?"

"I'm not doing anything to Elena, I'm simply ignoring her." Claire said.

"Elena and Alaric are tied together. Elena dies, so does Alaric" Henrik explained.

"Since when are you ok with people dying?" Caroline asked looking at Claire. "Look, Bonnie came to me today. She has a way of getting Alaric without killing Elena. I know you don't like her, I don't either, but that doesn't mean she has to die."

"If Elena dies, Alaric dies" Kol stepped in. "We know that for sure. What we don't know is if Bonnie will succeed. He's already kidnapped not only you but our beloved mate and I'd rather not give him a second chance." Kol shrugs.

"Caroline, Alaric is going to come of all of us in a matter out hours. Once that sun sets, this house is the only place we'll be safe because he can't get in. I'm choosing your life and the lives of my mates and their sister over her life. You don't have to like my decision or what we're doing. I don't like it either but I don't see another choice. I'm not risking our lives for her." Claire said sternly.

"What the hell?" Claire turns her head seeing Stefan and Damon standing in the doorway.

"Like my new house, Pencil Dick?" Claire asked as Henrik pulled her into his possessive arms. Kol growls walking up to stand beside Claire.

"They just gave you the mansion?" Damon asked raising an eyebrow.

"I'm lucky like that" Claire shrugs smirking at him.

"Please tell me Elena isn't in there." Stefan said looking at Claire. Her face falls slightly.

"I'm sorry... I truly am." Claire told them.

"Don't do this, Shortcake" Damon pleads. "Bonnie has another way to get rid of Alaric."

"She helps me once at the dance and you think I suddenly trust her with the lives of my mates?" Claire asks tilting her head. "I don't think so."

"Claire, please-" Kol shuts the door.

"Are you hungry, darling?" He asks walking in front of her ignoring the pounding on the door. He caresses her face gently.

"Not really" Claire mutters.

"Try to eat something, Angel." Henrik pleads slightly.

"I'm going to go check on Madelyn." Claire says walking out of Henrik's arms. The two brothers sigh as they watch her leave. Caroline frowns at her sister. She understood what her sister was going through and unlike herself, Claire wasn't getting over it as quickly.

"She'll be alright" Henrik assures Caroline.

"I know she will." Caroline nods. "She's the strongest person I know." The brothers both nod to that statement. While Kol and Henrik go into the living room, Caroline goes to where they're holding Elena.

"Caroline" Klaus smiles at her. He glances at Elena once more before walking to stand beside her. "How are you?" He asks sincerely.

"Better than Claire" Caroline tells him. Caroline couldn't explain it but she didn't dwell on what happened today. She's pissed at Alaric for what happened but it didn't affect her the same way it did her sister. To Caroline it's just a terrible event that happened in the past that made her current self more observant, more cautious, more protective of her sister.

"I'm glad you're here" Klaus mutters. "We can do everything we can for her but she needs you."

"And here I thought you were glad to see me because of my sparkling personality" Caroline teases lightly. Klaus smirk and releases a small laugh. "There was a time when I would do anything for her" Caroline whispers looking at Elena.

"And what happened?" Klaus asks skeptical.

"She went against my sister." Caroline answers simply. Klaus continues to look at her. He likes Caroline but doesn't know if she'd try something, like free Elena. However, the older Forbes sister simply gave Klaus a friendly back on the back before heading to the main room to play with Madelyn and help lift Claire's spirits.

Klaus turns his attention to Elena. She has lost consciousness by now. He could hear her steady heart beat slow more and more as the seconds passed. He felt anxious. He knew the sooner she died, the better. However, he needed her blood.

It felt like days before Elena's heart finally stopped beating. Klaus smirked as the nurse he had compelled took the needle out of her vein. He then tells the nurse to take the bags of blood away, somewhere safe. He then picks Elena up and practically tosses her out of the front door for the Salvatore brothers.

Damon and Stefan stared at Elena, not comprehending what had happened. Both of them felt completely heart broken, shattered. Hesitantly, Stefan picks her up, Damon being too terrified to touch her. They race back to their house where Elena awakes with a gasp a few hours later.

*Ok for this to make sense you need to know a few things. 1. Elena goes to the hospital and gets Damon's blood after this episode but I'm changing it so she got it before so that's why she came back. 2. Klaus doesn't get desiccated and 'die'. 3. You're welcome for sparing Claire of that heartbreak.
