"Connor's gone." Claire says over the phone to Klaus who is currently in Italy digging up a sword that can translate the mark on Connor's arm.

"What? What do you mean gone?" Klaus growled. Claire closes her eyes as she envisions the scene she walked in on. 

She had just put Madelyn to bed when she heard noises coming from the room where Connor was being held. She hesitated to walk in and when she did Connor was gone and there was a headless body on the ground.

"What happened, love?" He asked in a more gentle tone. He could feel her unease, her fear.

"He killed Nate" Claire told him. "The hybrid you sent to watch over him... Took his head." She whispers sitting down at the kitchen table. Henrik walks over to her and gives her some hot chocolate. She smiles at him. He returns it before sitting beside her, grabbing her hand.

"Are you alright?" He asks her.

"I'm fine" She reassures him. "Elijah and Finn are out looking for him. Kol has damn near every hybrid watching Madelyn. Henrik's with me, Kol's in the next room." She tells him.

"Please stay with one of my brothers until we get Connor back." Klaus pleads hoping she wouldn't argue with him on this.

"Ok" She nods. Henrik smiles and leans over kissing the side of her head. She moves her chair closer to him and lays her head on his shoulder.

"If he has the hybrids head-"

"Nate" Claire tells him. The hybrid was a person, someone who gave his loyalty to Klaus, albeit he didn't have a choice but still. "His name was Nate."

"If he has Nate's head then he has access to werewolf venom. My blood is the only thing that can heal werewolf venom." Claire sighs closing her eyes again. "I won't be back until tomorrow, you should warn Caroline to be careful."

"I will" Claire nods. "I love you."

"I love you more, be careful, I'll be home as soon as I can." Claire smiles. They said their goodbyes before hanging up. Kol enters the kitchen.

"There's no way Connor is going to be able to get to Madelyn." Kol assures her. He walks over and sits beside her. She looks at him, her head still laying on Henrik's shoulder.

"Any word from Elijah or Finn?" Henrik asked. Kol shakes his head reaching for Claire's hand. She gives it to him.

"I have to talk to Caroline" Claire said sitting up. 

"I already did" Kol told her. Claire gives him a curious look. "What? You think Nik is the only smart one in the family?" Kol gives her a cheeky smile. "Hybrid head, werewolf venom, Nik's cure blood and baby vampire twin sister."

"Thank you" He nods giving her a quick kiss.

"Claire?" Caroline asks coming into the house. Claire stands up and walks to her sister, Henrik and Kol in tow. Claire ignores Tyler, who's standing beside Caroline.

"Caroline, what's wrong?" Claire asked.

"It's Connor." 

"What about him?"

"He has Jeremy, Matt and April Young." 

"Why does he want them?"

"Well, Jeremy is a potential member of the Five." Kol pipes up. "Connor might want Jeremy do do something and are using Matt and April against him."

"Where?" Claire asked looking at her sister.

"The Grill. We have to help them."

"Caroline, he has werewolf venom." Claire reminds her. "I don't want you anywhere near the Grill. If Jeremy is involved then so is Elena, Damon and Stefan."

"April has nothing to do with any of this, she keeps getting pulled in, same goes for Matt. We owe it to them to get them out of trouble."

"I'll have some hybrids check it out. I'll call Elijah and Finn and let them know what's happening. They'll get Matt, April and Jeremy out of there and get Connor back but I don't want you anywhere near the Grill. I'd feel a lot better if you stayed here until we get Connor back and destroy the werewolf venom." Claire bargains.

"Tyler stays with me." Caroline adds. Claire clenches her jaw but gives in. She nods.

"Tyler can stay in the living room, if he leaves the living room I'll snap his neck and throw him in the cells." Claire threatens before walking away from them. She pulls out her phone and calls Elijah.

"Hello, Elskan." He greets. She smiles slightly.

"Hello, Elijah" She smiles dragging out his name. He groans slightly missing her presences. He's been away from her for too long, both him and Finn. "I know where Connor is, he's at the Grill. He has werewolf venom and three hostages"

"And I'm assuming you wish for these hostages to remain alive?" Elijah questions.

"I'd like that very much." She replies to him.

"Then consider it done, my love." Elijah says. Claire's heart swells and she grins. "We'll be home soon."

"I love you both and be careful." Elijah assures her they'll be fine before they hung up. Once Claire puts the phone down she looks out the window. She hugs herself as she tries to process everything that's been going on.

"Thank you for letting Tyler stay" Caroline said coming into the room Claire's in.

"If it's to keep you safe, I'll endure it." Claire said not looking at her.

"Why are you trying to capture Connor?" Caroline asked. Claire's mind raced to Klaus and why he's in Italy.

"Connor is apart of a special type of vampire hunters" Claire explains to her. "If he dies by the hand of a vampire, that vampire will be haunted to the point of suicide." She says looking at Caroline. "That's why we're capturing and not killing." Claire told her. Caroline nods accepting her answer not knowing there was something more. "What do you think of me becoming a vampire?" Claire asked looking at her.

"It's hard" Caroline told her. "The constant urge to kill, the need for blood." Caroline said walking closer to her sister. "The heightened emotions can be a bitch too." Claire smiles slightly. "But if you do become one, you'll have support. I'll be there for you just like you were for me. The Mikaelson's, they'll help you."

"Do you like it? Being a vampire?" She asks Caroline. Caroline thinks about it for a moment.

"I do" She nods. "I feel... stronger, less independent on people." She said. "I think you would enjoy it as well."

"The Forbes vampire twins." Claire smiles.

"Raising hell together as usual." Caroline smiles back at her. "Have you been thinking about it?"

"I have" She nods. "I talked with them a little bit about it last night."

"When do you think you would do it?" Caroline asked.

"Not for a few more years." Claire says. "How have you and Tyler been?" Claire asks.

"Good, we've been really good." Caroline nods. Claire nods as well.

"How have you really been?" Claire asked raising an eyebrow at her. Caroline sighs sitting in a chair. Claire frowns her eyebrows.

"I think he's hiding something from me." Caroline mutters. "He's been... distant." She whispers.

"What do you think it is?" Claire asks slowly.

"I don't want to think about it." Caroline whispers. "I love him, Claire... I just want things to go back to normal." She says. Claire sighs knowing what's she's talking about. She couldn't help but to get a familiar feeling in her stomach.

She thinks back to when she was with Tyler. She remembered things going great. Everything was perfect. She was very much in love. Then he started getting distant, started keeping secrets and everything else is history.

"Talk to him" Claire tells her. "Don't let him keep getting distant. Don't let him keep secrets. Keep him honest." Caroline nods slightly. "Come on, I'm hungry." She said walking towards the kitchen.

"Where's Madelyn?" Caroline asked following her sister.

"On lock down in her room." Claire said. "Once we found out Connor escaped, Kol had every available hybrid guarding her."

"Their protective of her" Caroline notes. Claire smiles.

"Yeah, she's got them all wrapped around her little fingers. I don't think theirs a thing in the world they wouldn't do for her" Claire said walking to the fridge. She scans it before grabbing her snack.

"Peanut butter and pickles?" Caroline asked.

"I can't get enough of them." Claire tells her. Caroline slowly nods watching her sister dip the pickles into the peanut butter and eat them.

"Can I ask you something?" Caroline questioned hesitantly.

"Of course, you can always ask me anything." Claire assures her. 

"Do you use protection?" She asks her. Claire tenses. The two of them look at each other.

"With Henrik" Claire tells her. She knew Henrik was the only one she needed to worry about and that's why she's cautious when she's with him. "Don't worry, I'm not pregnant" She assures her. "Just because I'm eating pickles doesn't mean I'm pregnant."

"You didn't like them before you got pregnant" Caroline pointed out.

"And now I do" Claire growled. "I still ate them even after I gave birth to Madelyn and..." Claire looks away from Caroline. Caroline sighs feeling slightly guilty for pushing.

"I'm sorry" Caroline said.

"It's fine" Claire mutters. Kol enters the kitchen and draws Claire into his arms. He didn't know what they had been talking about but he could feel her unease. 

Caroline slips out of the kitchen to return to Tyler only to find him not in the room. She searches the house but doesn't find him. She leaves the mansion looking for him.

Towards the end of the day, Finn and Elijah return home with no hunter. Claire greets them by the door not understanding what had happened. Elijah explains how Matt, Jeremy and April were alright but while everything was going down Connor had escaped. Finn and Elijah had found him but Elena had gotten to him first. Connor's dead and they knew Elena would be haunted for it.

Once they knew Connor was dead and they weren't threatened anymore, the hybrids relaxed around Madelyn. Claire stands by her crib and watches her sleep. She thinks about what Caroline said. 

Did she want more children? The thought terrified her. All she could think about is how she lost Aaron. She couldn't go through that again. Every time she thinks about the one she lost all she felt was pain, heartbreaking pain. She wasn't sure if she was ready to risk it. Besides, she's only 18. She doesn't want another kid yet, she's not ready.

"Nik's on his way back" Kol said standing in the doorway. Claire smiles lightly. Kol walks over to her and pulls her into his arms. She settles into them comfortably. "Come on" He whispers to her. "You need some rest."

"Ok" She nods letting him pull her away from Madelyn. "If Jeremy is a potential and Connor's dead..."

"Yeah" Kol nods kissing the side of her head. Claire sighs hugging him tightly.

"I don't want to stay here" Claire whispers to him. He frowns his eyebrows and looks down at her. "When I graduate... I don't want to stay in Mystic Falls."

"You won't have too" Kol assures her leading her into their room. "We can go anywhere in the world. We can go far away from here, just say the word and we'll leave."
