"Something's not right" Damon says walking into the bar with Jeremy. Jeremy holds his crossbow tightly in his hands, his eyes watchful for the vampires he was supposed to kill. They both notice a trail of blood on the floor and follow it towards the back where a giant pile of corpses are. "Looks like we're gonna have to find some new vampires... What a waste." 

"What the hell happened?" Jeremy wonders lowering his bow.

"I confess" Both of them spin around, Jeremy aims his bow towards the intruder. "I did it." Kol smirks at the two of them.

"Kol?" Jeremy recognizes him from around town. He usually sees him with Claire. He remembers hearing his sister and the Salvatore's talk about how he's her 'mate', whatever that meant.

"Jeremy, good to see you, mate. Sorry about the mess. It was a little crowded when I arrived, and I prefer more intimate gatherings." Kol walks towards them more. "We three need to have a little chat" He grips the bourbon bottle and takes a sip, his eyes watching the two of them. "Care for a drink?"

"He's underage, and I don't like you, so let's just cut to it." Damon said moving closer to Kol and in front of Jeremy.

"You know, my brother bragged about his plan to complete Jeremy's hunter mark. It was easy enough to track this lot down. They were all hiding in the shadows. Now, killing young vampires is easy or old ones, or that matter."

"Why? What's it to you either way?" Damon asked frowning his eyebrows. He was under the impression that the Mikaelson's wanted Jeremy to complete his mark, what was Kol's angle?

"Because, you fools, in your zeal to find the cure, you risk waking someone very dangerous." Kol warns them.

"Oh, you must be talking about Silas" Damon smirks. Kol glares at him.

"What do you know of him?" Kol wonders.

"Nothing, don't want too, not our problem." Damon shrugs. Kol smirks sarcastically.

"Isn't it?" He tilts his head. Damon shrugs. "A few hundred years back, I came across a group that worshiped Silas. His followers told me that he would rise again, and when he did, he wold trigger the end of all time. You know, being an immortal with a family that continues to get bigger, you can see why I'm opposed to time's ending. So I murdered all of them. And now, here you are willing to risk raising him in your search for the cure. I can't exactly sit back and let that happen, can I?"

"We're not going to back off the cure cause you were told one too many scary bedtime stories, you idiot" Damon brushes him off. Kol's glare hardens and he shoves Damon.

"Jeremy, you're close friends with my Claire, you release Silas and you put her in danger. Why don't you call off this imbecilic treasure hunt?"

"I'm not calling anything off" Jeremy said strongly as he holds up the bow towards Kol. Kol presses his lips together and takes a step back.

"Well, I could kill you" Kol shrugs and Jeremy tenses. "But then, I'd have to deal with the hunter's curse. I don't particularly feel like being haunted for the next century, don't like my love would enjoy that very much." Kol snaps his fingers and points to Jeremy. "Better Idea, I'll just rip off your arms." In a heartbeat, Kol flashes towards Jeremy but Damon anticipated it and rams Kol into the wall.

"Jeremy, run!" Damon shouts. The hunter doesn't hesitate to to flee. Damon tries to leave as well but Kol pulls him back and traps him in a headlock.

"Who the hell is Professor Shane?" Claire asked frowning her eyebrows. Kol's been missing for a while. He left right after confronting a man named Atticus Shane. He was the man Rebekah had sent him to fetch. Whatever happened spooked Kol, sent him rogue.

"He's a professor at Whitmore College" Bonnie told her. Claire, Bonnie, Jamie, Elijah and Henrik were standing in Elijah's study. "He tried to get me to help him with his plans, tried to teach me something called Expression magic."

"Expression?" Henrik asked slightly alarmed. Bonnie nods. Claire glances at Henrik questionably. "Dark magic. It's extremely dangerous." Henrik explained.

"Jamie warned me and stopped me before I could get too into it" Bonnie smiles at her mate. Jamie kisses her forehead.

"Well, that's good" Claire smiles at her friend. "But how does Shane fit into all of this?"

"He's the one who organized the death of the council." Bonnie explained. Claire raises an eyebrow. "He needs sacrifices, I think, and the council was one of them."

"Sacrifices? For what?" Caroline asked. 

"Rebekah said that Shane mentioned something about Silas when she and Kol were interrogating him. Kol believes him to be real but Silas is simply a bedtime story meant to scare children." Elijah informs Claire.

"Kol spent the majority of his time with various covens of witches, tell me Elijah, who would know if Silas is real or not? Kol may act immature but he is no child, if he is scared of Silas then I believe there is something to be scared of." Claire speaks up. Elijah simply nods not able to argue with her but not completely convinced. "Either way, Kol is worried that something is out there that will endanger not only my safety but the safety of our child. That makes him extremely dangerous to those who will try to stop him from keeping me and the baby safe."

"So, Kol is out there somewhere doing God knows what to prevent us from awakening someone who may or may not be real?" Caroline asked making sure she was getting everything right.

"Shane is very manipulative and he somehow survived Kol killing him which means he has strong allies." Bonnie spoke up. "He had the council blown up and he obviously doesn't care about the death toll, that makes him just as dangerous."

"I have my money on Kol." Claire mutters. Bonnie sends her a small smile. "We need to find Kol and get him to calm down so we can plan something smart and keeps everyone alive."

"Kol is very cunning, it'll be hard to find him." Elijah warns her. Claire sighs nodding in agreement.

"This is all for the cure" Henrik reminded them. "Rebekah and Elena are not going to stop trying to get it just because Kol is nervous."

"Kol isn't nervous he's scared" Claire corrects Henrik. "If he goes against Rebekah, it's going to get very dangerous very quickly." Claire mutters. The last thing Claire wanted to do was start a civil war within the Mikaelson family.

"We can try and do a locator spell, see if we can't find Kol that way." Henrik said motioning to Bonnie. They didn't think they would be able to find Kol that way, they knew Kol is smart enough to evade such spells.

"Let me know what you find" Claire pleads. Henrik kisses the top of her head.

"We'll find him, don't worry." He mutters before leaving with Bonnie and Jamie.

"Can you talk to Rebekah? Get her to back off just until we can figure out what the hell is going on." Claire says looking at Elijah.

"Leave my sister to me" Elijah says grabbing Claire's hand and kisses her knuckles. Claire smiles at him watching as he leaves.

"Klaus wants you, he's downstairs" Caroline speaks up.

"What now?" Claire groans going to the door. Caroline speeds in front of her.

"Deep breaths" Caroline smiles. Claire gives her a look but Caroline just mirrors it. Giving in, Claire takes some deep breaths. "We're going to figure this out." 

"I just want Kol back" Claire whispers. Caroline hugs her sister.

"I know and we'll get him back" Caroline assures her. They slowly pull away and Claire walks out of the room. She jogs down the steps seeing Klaus standing by the door. She then notices Elena standing outside, unable to come in without an invitation. "Elena?"

"We need to talk" She said. "Can you invite me in?"

"I don't think so" Claire crosses her arms standing just inside and out of Elena's grasp. "What do you want?"

"Kol's killed the vampires that were made for Jeremy. He also has Damon as a hostage" Elena informed them.

"So we'll make new vampires" Klaus said shrugging.

"How many humans, humans with their own lives, are going to have to suffer for a simple cure?" Claire asked looking at Klaus. Klaus may only see humans are a means to an end but Claire sees them as what they are, people with lives and families.

"We can't just leave Damon with Kol, Kol will kill him." Elena said slightly panicked. Claire couldn't help but to laugh.

"So, here you are, asking me to save the love of your life" Claire continues to laugh. "Where were you when I needed help getting Elijah from the Salvatore's?" 

"That was different" Elena pointed out.

"You're right, my apologies, that was different" Elena relaxes slightly. "That time you had my soulmate as a hostage and this time it's only the current Salvatore your fucking." Claire shrugs. Elena glares at her. "Elena, I don't care what happens to Damon and I don't care if Jeremy finishes his tattoo."

"Claire, wait" Elena said quickly when she noticed Claire was about to close the door. "I'm begging you, please help me."

Claire debates it. If she helps Elena she could help herself. By finding Damon and getting him away from Kol, she'd find Kol. She'd be able to bring him home and get everyone to calm down so they could figure out what to do next. At the moment, there were too many rogue elements. 

Rebekah was working on finding the cure and stopping Kol on her own. Kol is planning on taking everyone on in order to prevent Silas from returning. Klaus wants to stop Kol, find the cure so he can use it on Elena and prevent it from being used on himself or his brothers. Shane is out there plotting who knows what.

If Claire could bring Kol in then she could convince him to give her some time to figure everything out. Maybe there was a way to get the cure without waking Silas. If only she could get people to work together instead of going off on their own then maybe everyone would get out of this in one piece.

"Klaus, try and call Kol... He's ignoring my calls." Claire says. Klaus watches her cautiously. He could see the stress taking it's toll on Claire. The separation between her and Kol wasn't helping.

"Thank you" Elena said as Klaus walked away.

"I'm not doing it for you" Claire said before closing the door. She then walks into the room Klaus is in.

"Little brother, I head you're causing quite a bit of trouble." Klaus says once Kol answers. Claire feels a pang of hurt that Kol wouldn't answer her calls but answers his brothers.

"Oh, you know me, Nik" Kol smirks in reply. 

"I do know you which is why I shouldn't be surprised" Klaus rolls his eyes. "Those vampires were for my hunter."

"I'll make some more" Kol shrugs. "There's no shortage of people" Klaus glances at Claire.

"Where are you?" He asked.

"Having a drink with a friend" Kol answers. Klaus knew Kol was doing something to Damon.

"Yes, well, you've had your fun. Now let him go and come home. Claire's one step from blowing a gasket and if your wise you'll come home and maybe she'll spare you of her wrath." Klaus smirks at Claire who simply smiles back at him.

Kol looks at Damon and doesn't reply to his brother right away. Claire consumes his thoughts, more than she already does. He misses her and can feel her worry, her stress. He wished she would calm down and let him handle this, he knew what he was doing.

"I'm doing this for her" Kol tells him.

"She doesn't want you to do this" Klaus tells him. "She wants you to leave the Gilbert boy alone and come home. We can figure everything out and make a plan when you get here."

Kol didn't trust Klaus. He knew his brothers, like Rebekah, didn't believe in Silas. He figured they would have convinced her that Silas isn't real by now. He needed to do this, he needed to keep her safe.

"I won't touch him. You have my word" Kol tells Klaus. "Give Claire my love" Kol hangs up.

"He's not going to stop" Claire whispers. "You Mikaelson's have your loopholes" Klaus moves towards her but she simply walks out of the room.
