Chapter Sixteen: Stages
A/N:
I really don't like hate comments so if you don't like this book then just move along please, thank you.
-_-_-
I can never get the stages and mood swings when it comes to liking someone. There's the Butterflies Stage; where you feel happy and excited over everything. From the biggest to the smallest things.
"Hey, Nini!"
"My best friend!" I stood up from the makeup chair to hug Lisa, "Oh, my best friend is here for my photoshoot!"
Lisa gives me a weird look and shrugs it off, "Okay," she trailed and looked at my manager in confusion. "I texted you last night that I'd be here to eat because you said you had a waffle food truck from the company."
"Oh, Lili. I'm just so happy you're here," I giggled. I let out a happy sigh and went back to my chair to let the hairstylist finish my makeup while I scroll through my phone and see Namjoon's photos from time to time in my feed.
His face just makes my heart skip a bit and I would remember the night he kissed me.
Then there's 100 Questions Stage; the one where whatever you do and wherever you are, all you can think about is the possibilities and what if's of the situation.
"I can't believe this!" Lisa exclaims as we were watching a Kdrama in my house again, "I mean, why? Why would they do this?! Why?!"
She threw popcorn at the screen and cursed at the characters. While I was curled up on the other side of the couch wondering...
What did Namjoon exactly mean by wanting me?
How long is he willing to wait? How long will I let him wait?
Why would I let him wait?
Should I make him wait? I mean, a lady shouldn't always be easy to get, right?
What if he forgot what he said? It's been two months now, two whole months without a word or a call.
Should I call him? No, Jennie. You're the lady to be pursued here.
"Jennie Ruby Jane Kim!" Lisa yells loudly in her deep tone startling me out of my thoughts.
"Aish! What do you want?!" I answered back grumpily.
"I'm hungry, go make kimchi fried rice." She pouted and I sighed.
"My house is not a restaurant," I tell her but I get up anyway to cook for her.
"I love you!"
Then there's the I-don't-even-know-what's-going-on-anymore-so-I'm-just-going-to-wing-it Stage.
Yes, such stage exists.
It's been two months and two weeks without contact. I understand it's a busy time but this long without a message or a call, I've also forgotten what it felt like. So maybe I just like him when I see him, but for now, I'd prefer not seeing him because I'd like to sort out my feelings first.
"Yo, yo, yo!" Lisa greets as she enters my house casually.
"I think you're forgetting where you actually live, Lili." I groaned as I dropped frozen berries in my blender.
When the company each bought us our own apartments and cars, Lisa was the most ecstatic out of all of us but she also turned out to be the one that visited often.
"I'll be here quick, I have places to be. I just need that purple wig you have." She announces and walks in my bedroom like it's hers.
"What? Why?" I asked, raising my voice because of the blender.
Lisa doesn't answer until she comes out wearing my wig under a cap, "I need a disguise, I'm visiting Jungkook."
My mind immediately went to Namjoon, "In their dorm?"
"Yep," She replies, combing her hair.
"A-Are you coming alone?" I asked.
"Yeah, why?"
"I mean, it's kind of weird. Like a girl visiting a guy friend alone," Lisa rested her hand on her hip as she gives me a confused look, "It's just... are you dating? Are you lovers?"
Her face immediately shows disgust, people may not know but dating isn't really Lisa's top priority. Although, she has her flings, she just doesn't commit as much. She's the player of the group, no matter how cute and innocent she may seem.
"Should I not come then?" She asks with furrow brows.
"N-No, I never said that. All I said was don't go alone, like bring a friend." I suggested.
I may be lying to myself by saying that I only care about Lisa's reputation to those who know she's going over their dorm, I might... just might... want to see someone.
"Well, should I ask Somi-"
"Gosh! Lisa, if you insist so much, I'll go!" I cut her off and before she can even protest, I slammed the door shut and changed my clothes real quick.
I want to seem like I was forced to come, because I want to believe I was. I picked out a crop top and high-waisted jeans. I tried to do my best to do a simple and natural makeup look. Just concealer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, brows, and lip balm. Because my story will be I was forced to come at the last minute.
I walk out and Lisa was drinking my berry smoothie, her eyes widen as she looks at me up and down. "Wow, you look nice."
"Hm, thank you." I smile at her and sprayed perfume on myself.
"But we're just going to stay inside-" I shook my head and cut her off.
"Well, are you going or not?"
