🚨Freeze!🚨

"A hero? Nah, I'm far from it. I'm just doing my part for the community. Heros are things of fairy tales and myths, and heroic acts are just things regular people should do anyways, but are too scared to do. I've just got the nuts to do 'em."

"Freeze, scumbag!"

Name: Nick McCourtney

Age: 22

Looks: Nick always has this sharp look on his face, and a gaze that can pierce straight into your soul. It's captivating, yet at the same time, intimidating. He's clean-shaven and has messy black hair, along with dark brown sharp eyes. He typically wears a standard-issue SFPD uniform and a black vest over it, and wears a pair of shades that he's emotionally attached to for some odd reason. He's always got a cigarette in his mouth, something he finds calming in his line of work.

Personality: On the job, Nick is very serious, taking nothing lightly except for maybe the occasional joke someone will make during a traffic stop. He's hard-headed and extremely brave, usually the first one to suggest tackling a situation head-on, always finding himself called out to shootouts and robberies almost daily. He's essentially a one-man squadron and he's well-aware of it, having been commended several times and rapidly on his way to promotion. However, outside of the job, all the stress kicks his ass and he has several unhealthy habits because of it. He constantly gets fucked up, either at home or at a bar, and has an unhealthy nicotine addiction that he can't kick. He can be a bit depressing at times, usually very negative about everything when he's off the clock, but it's due to general unsatisfaction with his life. Despite being as well-known as he is, there isn't truly anybody who has his back, and it hurts sometimes. Maybe one day, that'll change.

Occupation: A star officer with the SFPD.

Family/Friends: Hailey McCourtney, mother, alive and well at 46.

Brandon McCourtney, father, 50, detective for the SFPD.

Talents: Nick is very intuitive and level-headed when it counts, able to control his emotions, very good at negotiating with criminals, a great shot, fantastic in pursuits- essentially just a very talented officer. Outside of work, he's not good at much except drinking and maybe writing, occasionally pouring his stress and anger into short stories about his life into a journal simply labeled "Me."

Dislikes: Getting shown up, small-time police work, sometimes his job, and being sober at home.

Likes: Drinking, adrenaline-inducing action, writing, and serving the community.

Backstory: Nick was born to Hailey and Brandon in San Francisco, looking up to his father ever since he was young. He was always raised to be a prodigy- to be the next one up in a long line of a law enforcement-driven family. His father was an officer just like him when he was in his 20s, and ever since he was little Nick always wanted to be just like him, having seen him climb the ranks and become one of the most successful peacekeepers in SFPD history. In high school, Nick took law enforcement classes and aced them no problem, joining the academy fresh out of high school. Six months later, he was on the force, but had bit off more than he could chew, at least initially. In his first year of service, he'd been hospitalized in a shootout and considered calling it quits, opting instead to channel his stress through alcohol and nicotine abuse, managing his life like that instead of breaking the family tradition. His grandfather, great-grandfather, and so on and so forth were all officers, and that wasn't change. For the sake of the family, Nick would keep serving the community. He became well-known at 21 after both taking down a couple of bank robbers holding hostages at a large bank single-handedly, and running into a burning apartment to save a woman trapped in her burning room, somehow scaling his way down the 3-story building to safety within the same week. Nick was seen as a hero, but declined an award, wanting to just do his job and stay under the radar. Unfortunately for him, he was locally famous now, and he hated it... But at least his dad was proud, if that meant anything. To this day, Nick continues serving San Francisco, and doesn't intend on departing anytime soon.
