||Personality Attributes||

|Shy|
Ethan is easily flustered and pretty shy. Despite his good-looking appearance all the attention he gained for it, and the many girls that swarmed after him he is a very shy type of guy. New people often make him nervous, and compliments will make him wave them off with a laugh. He doesn't feel like he deserves such things, and simply likes it better when being with those he already knows. The shyness has been there from he was a young kid, always hiding behind someone when facing new people and situations, shy smiles, avoiding eye contact and a general discomfort in his posture is not rare to see out in public or at parties.
|Careful|
He is very careful and gentle with everything he does and those he cares for. He handles everything as if it is made of glass, making him a trustworthy and comfortable character to be with. Someone might see it as a negative trait, but being as gentle and careful as he is, it seldom happens that he causes or get into trouble. His nature makes him subconsciously avoid situations that might hurt himself or others, both physically and mentally. It also makes him extremely peaceful, to the point where one might even question his existence.
|Grieving|
The day he returned to you, you knew something was wrong, and so did everyone around him. When entering a room, he brings a certain sorrow with him, the constant tiredness in his eyes, whimpers in his sleep and slow movements. They are all filled with a type of sadness, one that is impossible to describe and actually point out, but that can be quite overwhelming once its seen. Many people have left him for this, he says its just too little sleep and inner peace, but the way he gaze over the city in the evenings and the never ending search for stars in the dark reveals the lie in his words.

Scenario||
Ethan could be a handful too times. You met long ago, in kindergarten. Guess it was meant to be, a friendly relationship turned closer and stronger for each passing year until eventually, teenage love sparked the fireworks between the two of you. There was no one else, nothing that could come between the two of you, and as you grew, so did the love you shared with one another. Goofy laughs, long evenings, endless time of love, smiles, secrets and comfort. Love. A wonderful thing, but always too good to be true. His father moved cross country, following wherever the Air Force stationed him, and with a home-mother he moved with his family. You made the promise to see each other as quickly as time allowed for it, as quickly as one of you had saved up money, and if not then, then after you were done with education. The money you two worked so hard for never paid off, the tickets always a bit too expensive, and the thought about your future sabotaging your visits. You kept contact for quite long, skyping every single day. Sending letters, messages, gifts, however, the contact between the two of you were suddenly cut short.
You heard rumours from friends, the name of your childhood friend and teenage love always seemed to come up when you entered the room. One way or the other, these people knew Ethan. Weird, considering his shy personality, but also reassuring, even though most of the rumours you heard worried you sick. It was never good news, always a tone of sorrow, guilt, disaster. You tried contacting him, but too no use, it was as if he had disappeared from this world, yet you kept on hearing about him, even seeing pictures. Why he wouldn't contact you when he seemed so... free? You weren't sure, but something had to be wrong.
Soon enough university pulled you out of your worries and into the stress of adult life, however you could never seem to find a new person to love. The few dates you went on ended in disaster, and the guys that seemed interested in you were jerks, nothing worth spending time and energy on. Fortunately, your life would not be filled with endless, reckless lovers. For one day he showed up at your door. It was the day after you 27th birthday, the doorbell had rung, and when you opened, there he stood, a tired smile, seeming at least a decade older than what he should look like at this age. "Happy birthday," his voice had grown darker since you last talked, a darker tone that you honestly liked, "I really tried to make it, but the train wasn't on my side," he continued, reaching you a bouquet of equally tired flowers at him. But it didn't matter, all you cared about was that he had finally returned.
Four years have passed since then, and you are back to be a couple, the time spent apart almost forgotten, for you picked up where you left off. As deeply in love, as happy in each other's presence and with few troubles. You know something happened to him the years spent apart, certain personality changes, the less bubbly tone in him, the never-ending tiredness in his eyes being among them, but the most outstanding part being the scars over his shoulder and back. You asked him once, it would be the only time you saw him angry. Therefor, you decided not to ask anymore, something had happened, but if he wasn't ready to open up about it you would not push his limits.
Back to the present you're sitting in your living room, the two of you having lived together for almost three years now. Ethan had just returned from some grocery shopping, taken some time to ask about the day and care for you before he decided to make dinner. It was nice to not always be the one in the kitchen, and making food always seemed to help him out mentally. Taking a small break from your work you sat back and listened to the sounds from the kitchen, the soft sizzling of frying vegetables, his dark voice in a soft hum. It was a welcoming sound, a calming one. However, it was all interrupted by a sudden curse. He never cursed, so this worried you. Jumping to your feet you were quick to the kitchen, seeing him stand with the back towards you and hand under running water. The knife by the cutting board covered in a thin streak of blood and small spots across the floor gave away what had happened. A cut in the hand as he worked on the avocado. With careful strides you moved to his side, gently letting your hand move over his shoulder, "You okay honey?" you asked, his head lifted in your direction, a small smile, "Yeah, just a light cut," but you knew something was wrong. For his hands were shaking, and eyes lost of all life force, maybe something had happened at work?
Now it is up to you, would you once againconfront him about his past? Or rather tend to his wounded hand to steer awayfrom a possible fight
