After the death of his owner his aggression took over, the anger, disappointment, and grief he felt overpowered all other senses. Making him dangerous and hard to control, he rarely walked with his head or tail lowered, and pulls his lips back and into a growl or snarl at every given opportunity. It makes him a feared dog by many, and respected by others...

He's always had a hard time trusting others, and is therefor very suspicious and distrustful. Unfortunately, it is a great flaw, preventing him from reaching certain goals and establish a bond with others. Who is important, no matter how much one denies it. If you ever gain his trust, see it as a great honour, and don't show him it was a mistake

Even though most of his personality is rash and aggressive, he is very merciful. He may fight, come out as one who'd kill without blinking. However, that is not true. He won't let blood spill unless necessary, nor won't he ever kill for fun. He has spared many enemies lives, because there were no need for a kill. And this is probably one of his best sides.

Backstory:
Rex is from a family who from early times has been part of the war. Working with partners as messengers, bomb dogs, drug dogs, and used for attacks. Rex was one of them, which resulted in his bad hearing. Not many years ago his owner died during combat, Rex grieved deeply and experienced a terrible amount of guilt. As he thought it his fault that his owner had died, if only he'd been able to detect the bomb and the threat hiding inside the buildings in the seemingly abandoned building....
