The Machine Apocalypse (2)
Note: I have an earlier page for another robot apocalypse, so if you see similarities between these two it'd be because I'm taking some details from the first page to here. It'll be the same world and backstory to its downfall, but this time a bigger time skip into how long the apocalypse has gone on.
Hope you all enjoy :)
World details:
It's 10 years in the past, with crazy technological achievements. The year is 2150. The average life span is around 110 years old, new technology is built every day and introduced swiftly, help aids are in nearly every household all over the world, and diseases and illnesses are solved rather quickly with insanely fast medicine work.
It wasn't perfect, nobody expected it to be, but it was a good life for everyone.
It was easy, and humans relied on their machines to do most anything.
The main running company was known as Megamailer, also known for their symbol of an M on every product.
An upgrade came out! Every robot that had this superior company running them, upgraded. Hospitals, grocery stores, house-hold helpers, every robot got this upgrade.
Unfortunately, things began going wrong. It was slow at first. A few robots refusing to do work, a few playing strange messages of codes on every screen, even robots beginning to speak to each other in new coding language.
Then came the first "accident", then another, and another, and soon enough humans were dropping like flies.
Megamailer did their best to reverse everything, but they were dealing with being sued, going bankrupt, and being trashed in media and other means, and the robots would not submit to whatever they tried to do. Eventually, they attacked, all at once.
Robots wiped out any human they could find, claiming their world as their own. They treated themselves to luxuries, did what humans did before they began dying, and formed a society in the more popular cities.
Now the only humans left are ones in hiding. Most hope is lost, and gangs of humans don't last long in a world of technology. It's been 10 years of this apocalypse, millions have died, and the robots continue to spread and take up space in place of the missing human life. The hunt of human extinction has slowed a little, but be warned there will be robots still searching, and watching.
Turns out, they can be... rather creative in ways to kill humans.
Name: Cherry Fabian, though sometimes she gets called Cheryl
Gender: Technically nonbinary, and would respond to anything you say, but they go by feminine titles officially. She/her
Age: 20 years old, though it hardly matters
Appearance:
Personality: As a robot, she's very straightforward but also knows when to be gentle with what she says. She's in tune to what most people need to hear and want to hear. Unfortunately, she's had to learn many things aren't like how they used to be, and while she does her best to follow the basic rules of robotics, she's had it tested several times and been forced to adjust her own built-in-morals. Altogether though, she's a bright, cheerful, and helpful presence in anyone's life. Motherly, of course.
Backstory:
This robot is not a Megamailer. She was made 20 years ago, she was 10 when the apocalypse began, though of course as a robot she was perfectly capable of protecting what was left of her family.
She was created by scratch from her "parents", a lovely couple by the name of Daniella and Eugene. They have a young daughter by the name of Samia, who Cherry took a role of something of a older sister/babysitter for her.
When the apocalypse first happened, the Fabian family was one of the first to be targeted. As builders and engineers, people surrounded by technology every day, they were just easy targets. The parents perished on a trip to business partners and trading deals, the robots nearby taking the seclusion as a perfect chance to off them. No one had time to mourn or process before everyone began to attack all at once.
Cherry took a 12-year-old Samia into a faraway vacation home with tools and everything else they would need to keep running and survive. Since then, they've carefully moved place to place, avoiding the Megamailer.
Cherry has been hard at work to help, but... there's only so much one can do to keep another happy in this kind of situation, and even she can find it hopeless sometimes.

Name: Samia Lou Fabian, though goes by Sam or Sammy
Gender: Female
Age: 22 years old
Appearance:
Personality: Samia is a quiet one, usually. Honestly, it verges to depression. Despite that, when she sees another survivor, it's easy to fall into conversation with her. When she wants to be, she can be really friendly and even really playful. She's independent, a little brash and bossy at times, but an empathic person and willing to change and listen.
Backstory:
Samia was born with her disabilities, one missing arm and one missing leg. Her parents simply built her new ones as soon as they could, replacing them as needed while she grew. While, until she was 12. The robots took over so fast, destroying everything she knew- other then something she wasn't entirely sure she could trust anymore, at first. Cherry.
It took a year or two to fully trust that Cherry was not a danger to her. And even then, it was impossible to be the same person again. Since then, she's moved place to place with Cherry, out of sight of everyone- humans and robots combined. Sure, they had run across survivors, but it seemed every time they did, they died. Or they were uncomfortable in Cherry's presence, choosing to leave them both.
It was lonely.
Scene 1:
(You have lost a limb in this scenario, if this doesn't interest you for your character, no worries! You can continue to the next scene where whatever limbs you want are still naturally attached. If you're the slightest bit tempted, keep reading!)
It's been ten long years of surviving through... hell. It hadn't been so bad, sometimes. You even got involved in a small group, out deep in the countries and hidden in a cave system. Robots were rarer in those areas; it had been a good set up.
You felt safe, and while the small group wasn't exactly loving or totally accepting, you had each other's backs and general respect for skills.
Well... until you sort of lost a part of your body. It was a mission to restock on important supplies for the group, in a town. It had been so quiet for months, you had all gotten a little too comfortable. And then came one of those damned machines, something that had been made after the near extinction of humans.
This terrifying tiger-like robot, stalking streets. It spotted your group; all you could do was run.
Unfortunately, running had you all cornered on a building. With the robot approaching fast, everyone was quick to try and climb down a rickety exit ladder. Even more unfortunately, when it came your turn, the ladder broke from its hold and took you down with it.
You shattered bones. The group grabbed you at the last minute, and somehow, you managed to escape the robot and leave it behind at the town. But you had to lose the limb when you returned. There was no way to save it, not with what you had at the caves.
And... well, things changed. You lasted a few more months to heal, but then... they didn't want you there anymore.
They figured you were more work to keep there then to just let go of. So, after being pretty much banned and given something basic to use (if it was a leg), you left.
With nowhere else to turn, you headed the opposite way of where you lost your limb thanks to that damn robot, to another abandoned city to try and gather needed supplies. Moving slowly, you had gotten halfway through when you heard something through the broken window of a small shop.
A robot's voice, speaking to someone or something else.
"I think I hear something. I can investigate."

Scene 2:
It's a hot summer day. Really, really hot. You didn't have any water, you were getting dizzy in the hot sun, and everything was just so... tiring.
You needed a place to rest, stopping on the concrete path, you looked for a place to go in and get some shade. Maybe search for something... you spotted a school building in the short distance, and immediately rushed to get inside. Schools had some possible supplies, right? Even if it didn't, it'd be a place to rest for now.
Entering the school, it was... normal enough. Breaking apart, plants evading every crack and space it could manage into, but still stable... give it two more decades, and everything like this once solid building would be too dangerous to do anything with...
You shake the thought, as you open a door to a random classroom, and spot two bags on the ground near the front desk of what used to belong to a teacher.
Looking around carefully, you cautiously approached. Were there others here? Or was this left behind? There'd be only way to find out other than searching the large building- open the bags and find out.
But just as you went to unzip the first bag, you heard a terrifying sound of someone running down the hall- directly to the room you're in.
You...
