The Fairy

Note: This is a bit of a role-player challenge! You have the possibility to escape the fae depending on if you can out-trick a trickster who has more powers than a human does.

You're free to do your research on what the fae can and can't do, and how you approach these tricky beings- but once your character makes their action, its permanent, and it may or may not affect your future and put you in either debt or ownership to the fae.

Either way, this is a fantasy setting, so I hope you'll have fun and get creative!
I did a lot of my own research on fair folk and how they interact/live, so I just hope everyone enjoys the page!

Name: Nautila Mosswort, but will go by the nickname Moss or Wort- as knowing a fair folks real name can be used against them

Gender: Female

Age: Hundreds of years old by now

Appearance:

Personality: Nautila is, like most of her kind, cunning and tricky. She's on the less kind side of her people and enjoys causing trouble for the fun of it. It's usually pranks, but she's not beneath causing serious harm or illness to those she feels have wronged her. As a creature vastly different from humans, she doesn't have the same understanding of love, empathy, or sadness as a human might. This doesn't mean she can't gain deeper understanding of this- but for now is lacking with these abilities. She despises liars, so she will never lie to you, though that doesn't mean she won't use wordplay or tricks to tell the truth. She's passionate, energetic, and hard working.

Backstory:

Nautila is a free spirit even by fae standards and will go months without seeing her kind while she explores and enjoys the human realm.

She's not as highly respected as the older seeming fae is, but of course is treated like an equal regardless and honors the Laws of Hospitality and never owing a debt to another creature for long. She spends her time testing the limits of her trickery, learning ins and outs of loopholes, and researching whatever information she gets her hands on.

Scene 1: (it's better if you're younger in this scene, but if you want you can still play an adult! Be warned if you do play younger, I have no interest in engaging anything romantic with our characters! It's totally up to you if your character has a good relationship or not with their parents, as that may make a big difference with how this goes)

You live in a small nice little town, a little out in the country. It's beautiful, there's plenty of nature to enjoy and it's usually quiet.

Sure, you've grown up noticing some odd things... items go missing a lot, you could swear that you saw tiny lights out of the corner of your eyes, you feel watched often, and every now and then you hear soft giggling and music drifting through the wind. It's unmistakably some kind of magical feeling in the area.

Well... today was a little more unsettling. You felt as though you had been watched all day, it was a bad feeling, like something wrong would happen. It was nighttime now, sinking into a bed and ignoring everything as best as you could.

At first, it was a nice feeling, a warm sort of tingle washed over your skin- but then your other senses came back slowly, until you noticed the familiar sensation of grass your skin, the wind blowing across your body, and peaks of sunlight through tree tops washing over your eyes. You were in the woods, and certainly not in your bed anymore. Colors seemed much brighter, almost strange on the trees around you- you knew it was the fall season, but the leaves weren't usually so colorful so soon.

A strange creature with wings stood over you, a sharp smile gracing her face.

You...

Scene 2:

You're in the woods! Maybe you live nearby, maybe you're hiking alone, maybe a dare?

Either way, you've gone... way further then you probably should have. You're admittedly a little lost, and you're struggling to find your way home as the sun is going down very soon.

At one point you find something that definitely means you're only going further into the woods and are hopelessly lost by now- a strange gate archway. There must have been an old building here that eventually fell apart, leaving only this somewhat nice piece behind.

You climb the stairs, tired by this point, and sit in the center of the gate. You just needed a break, and then you'd somehow find your way back...

It was only a minute later that you felt something warm tingle across your body, and you felt the urge to look up. When you did, your eyes met someone (something?) else's eyes.

"You must be agreeing to engage in conversation if you're sitting here on my archway." She gave a wide smile, head tilting curiously as she examined you, motioning a hand towards you as if wishing to grab something, "Can I have your name?"

You...
