The Cursed Princess

Name: Natra Maria Quentin, though in the privacy of her family, she is called Rose

Gender: Female

Age: 17, almost 18

Appearance:

Personality: Natra is a bit reserved and shy. While she is generally happy, her life has been heavily controlled, and in privacy she can be found in seemingly deep thought. She loves feeling tastes of freedom, spending her time with nature in the gardens and surrounded by flowers she loves. With people around her she is always smiling, and tries to be social, but still ends up awkward sometimes. Shes an incredibly bright girl though, with many ideas and a love for her work, wanting more than anything to just help her kingdom and make big changes for the better. Has a habit of brushing off intense situations though, as she never wants to get too upset.

Backstory:

It all begins a long time ago with a queen, a king, a mistress, and a witch.

There was a beautiful party, where all likes of people were invited to dance and meet with the kingdom's ruler- The queen.

She had imagined the night to be boring and pass by slowly, until a man stepped up throughout the night. The queen was fascinated by the young man, and some say it was fate, as she fell in love with him fast and hard.
The young man became king, marrying into the line, and gave the kingdom several heirs to the throne through the many years. It seemed to be a fairy tale, with a nicely wrapped ending...

Until the king began sneaking around. Coming home late, becoming less responsive to his wife, and slowly falling from her loving grasps.

Confused and hurt by the sudden distance, the queen searched for answers, where she eventually discovered the king had found a mistress and was engaging out of marriage. When confronted, he admitted to loving the new woman, having fallen out of love with the queen.

Furious, the queen sought out a witch to punish her unfaithful husband. A curse that bound your emotions to the one you love.

The cursed would feel joy, sadness, anger, lust, and embarrassment all the same as they had before- except now the other partner could feel its pain physically. Anger made the partners skin burn, jealousy made their heart throb, and deep sadness, sadness was the worst. It clenched your throat, made your head pound and weigh, and a sickening sensation ran through the body- enough to make anyone drop. There were good parts- such as less negative emotions. Happiness made the other party feel gentle warmth, a calm sensation through the body, a wonderful feeling when it passed through.

The queen took joy in watching her husband's mistress suffer from his unfaithfulness. With each moment she was in pain at his hands, the more the king worried and became more and more distraught, making each night's pain for the woman worse and worse.
Until the queen finally had the mistress killed, and the king was removed from the castle to live his life out knowing his loves last moments were in misery.

Little did the queen know she had cursed her entire family in the search of revenge. A generational curse, as they say. Her grandchildren inherited the curse, as did theirs, and so on- until nearby kingdoms realized that the royal family was now tainted and unsafe to mingle with every other generation.
After all, to have the cursed royal fall in love with you was to ask for a lifetime of possible pain by their side.

But of course, life still finds a way, and Natra is now the next generation to be born with the curse. By now they've prepared, teaching the heirs to keep bad emotions to themselves and out of mind, to appear more appealing to possible suitors. Happiness is now a requirement, as Natra is told.
Natra has been encouraged to keep a smile on her face, speak carefully and thoughtfully, never raise your voice, don't frown often or, even better, at all, keep calm in every situation, but most of all- Do not fall in love easily.

Scene 1:

You are a prince/princess/royal heir!

You know the Quentin family... fairly well. You know the Queen and King, to be exact. Your family has been allied with the Quentin's for as long as you can remember, so to be invited over to their lands and castle for feasts and celebrations, rather boring meetings, was a common thing you experienced.

Oddly enough, you were always to come with, but when the Quentin's came to you, they did not come with their only heir- Natra. In fact, you've never been really allowed to meet in private, or for long. When you did see her, she was often by herself surrounded by work, or sitting in the garden like a silent thoughtful statue. You couldn't help but feel some pity, assuming that the girl was probably kept away from everyone like this, almost like a locked princess in a story.

Of course, you were aware of the curse, so you guess you couldn't blame anyone for that behavior.

Except today was different! Your family will be staying at the castle for quite some time discussing something, and you've been told that you will likely spend some time with Natra.

So, when you had arrived at the castle, leaving your parents to catch up with whatever meeting they needed to, you fell in pace easily with the castle hallways, remembering them easily from the years of visitation, and turned to the library where Natra was already seated at a desk with several books and papers around her.

She glanced up, down, and then quickly back up again, "Oh- You're early!" She stood, pushing the chair back, and promptly knocked over the books stacked by her side. She gave a quick apologetic smile, bending down to pick up the mess, "Good to see you, as always."

Scene 2:

(Can be anyone in this scene!)

There's a beautiful dance at the Quentin castle!

It was a special occasion, something that hardly ever happened every other generation, and you intended to make the best of the night!

Arriving at the magnificently decorated and lit up ballroom, you could see even though it was a large room, it was rather crowded by women and men dressed to their best selves.

The start of the party was amazing, with plenty of snacks and drinks, and the sight of the royalty at the front of the room enjoying the music, including the princess who sat in her chair silently with a well-practiced smile.

It wasn't until the middle of the night, after a few drinks and quite a few dances, that you noticed the princess had left her throne- and then immediately stepped in front of said princess way as she stepped on the floor.

She gave another smile, "Enjoying the party?"

You...
