BACKSTORY: Her parents are Andrew and Rebecca Barton. Andrew Barton was Clint Barton's younger brother, which makes Clint Astrid's uncle. Andrew Barton was, like his brother, good with bows and arrows. Rebecca Barton had abilities of Power Mimicry. Astrid inherited those powers as well as her father's talent with bows and arrows. Andrew, Rebecca and Astrid loved each other very much. But at the age of 10, both her parents sacrificed their lives to infiltrate a HYDRA base which led Astrid to be adopted by Clint and Laura Barton. After Clint discovered Astrid's Power Mimicry and talent of marksmanship and fighting at the age of 11, he introduced her to the Avengers and has trained with the Avengers ever since. Because of her training, she developed a strong bond with Steve. She wasn't a victim of the Decimation.
