INDIANA JONES
lvi. ONE-HANDED ALCOHOLIC

╚══════════════════╝

PRESENT
NEVERLAND

SCAVENGING AROUND THE CAVE that teenaged Baelfire lived in for an unidentifiable number of days was a strange experience for Indiana Jones. While Indiana was out making life-long memories all those years ago, her childhood best friend was holed up in a cave for who knows how long. It made her feel guilty.

The ragtag team of misfits started to grow rather hopeless. The only possibly helpful things they could gather were some puzzling scribbles, a cut up coconut, and tally marks that were drawn for each day Baelfire was trapped on the island. As Indiana traced her fingers on the wall where the tally marks were, she frowned. Did Baelfire know she was on the island at the same time as him? If he did, why didn't he make himself known to her?

It didn't take the group too long to realize that Peter was doing the same thing he did to Henry to Baelfire. He was in the works of making Henry lose faith. Peter wanted Henry to lose hope in his loved ones coming to rescue him so that he could do whatever it was that he wanted with Henry and his heart. Unfortunately, Peter Pan's plans were heavily concealed with riddles and sketchy moves.

Indiana only knew this was her boyfriend's plan because he did the same thing to her. He got the Shadow to pose as Frankie to make her feel guilty so that she would open up to him. See, Indiana could have saved him that day all those years ago, but she didn't, and now, the memory of the Lost Boy constantly came back to haunt her. Now, guilt was all she felt.

Guilt seemed to be a reoccurring sensation for Indiana Jones, and she couldn't pinpoint the reason why. Indiana hadn't felt like this until recently. Now, it felt like the girl's world was collapsing all around her.

While Snow White, Emma, and Indiana got to work at a trap to capture a Lost Boy, David and Killian left to retrieve something. The pirate and the prince had explained that Killian and Indiana's deceased brother, Liam, had a satchel up on Deadman's Peak that he left before his death. In it was a sextant that they could use to decode Baelfire's star map that was created from the cut up coconut.

Indiana was experiencing some serious déjà vu as she worked on the trap with Regina chewing their ears off. Nonetheless, they got it done and managed to capture a Lost Boy. Snow pointed an arrow at the boy while Emma gripped her dagger. "What are you doing?" the Lost Boy demanded. "Are you trying to start a war with Pan?"

"Pan started the war when he kidnapped my son," Emma defensively hissed. The Lost Boy stared at her, unimpressed, before his gaze shifted over to Indiana. Then, his eyes widened.

"You... You're Indiana Jones!" the boy realized in awe. He suddenly grew rather offended and angry. "W-Why are you with these imbeciles? I thought you were on Pan's side!"

Indiana narrowed her ocean-colored eyes at the boy. "Yeah, well, right now, my boyfriend's being a complete idiot," Indiana discretely explained. She noticed the fresh cut on his cheek, but didn't proceed to ask him what happened. For all she knew, it had to do something with the Lost Boys screwing around. "But just because Peter isn't my favorite person in the world right now doesn't mean you're our enemy."

The Lost Boy stood up slowly as Regina summoned a chocolate bar to appear in her hand. "What is that?" the boy questioned.

"Chocolate," Regina sweetly informed him. "I thought you might like the taste of something sweet."

"We don't want to hurt you," Indiana calmly told him while inching forward. "We just need you to deliver a message to Henry."

"Why should I help you?" the Lost Boy wondered.

"Because you had a home and a family and you stopped believing you could get back to them," Emma instantly answered. "Now, we're here. We can help—not just Henry, but all of you. We can get you home."

Then, Regina offered the boy the candy bar. He hesitantly took it from here before inhaling its sweet scent deeply. Regina smiled while he chuckled before turning and chucking it behind him. "Don't you get it? I'm here because I don't want to go home," the Lost Boy stated seriously. "None of us do."

"Pan's a monster," Emma reminded him. "Look what he did to you." She used her blade to point out the cut that sliced across his cheek.

"Oh, Pan didn't do that," the boy stated with a dark chuckle. "Henry did."

After some time of interrogating the Lost Boy, the group of girls knew that they weren't getting anywhere. The Lost Boy wasn't telling them anything useful and he was far from willing to help them. "It's too late!" the unnamed Lost Boy shouted at Emma Swan as she pinned him up against a tree. "Henry is a Lost Boy now! Your boy is one of the most vicious recruits we have had in ages!"

Indiana ran forward as Emma used her hand and wrapped it around the Lost Boy's neck. She pulled her off of him, practically throwing her far away from the boy. "Don't you dare put your hands on him ever again!" Indiana angrily scolded. "Whether you like it or not, the Lost Boys were the only family I've ever really had, so I'd really appreciate it if you didn't try to kill them every 10 seconds."

"Move aside," Regina stated in demand.

Indiana stared at her unsurely. "Why?"

"So I can rip his heart out!" Regina exclaimed. "Then he'll do exactly what we want!"

"Maybe you like having that scar on your face," Indiana began. "Maybe you'd like another! We can find another way to get to Henry!"

"Really?" Regina sarcastically questioned. She turned to the blonde. "And what do you think, Emma?"

Emma fell silent. "I think... we need to talk to Henry," Emma admitted. Then, she suddenly ran forward and grabbed Indiana, holding her back. Snow White was frozen in her place, unsure of what to do as Indiana fought against Emma's hold. "Do it, Regina!"

"Let me go!" Indiana shouted, squirming around rapidly. "Emma Swan, I swear to the bloody devil, if you don't let me go, I will skin your goddamn body with a rusty saw!"

Indiana suddenly stopped fidgeting and flinched as she heard the Lost Boy shout in pain due to the fact that Regina had torn his heart out.

Indiana Jones anxiously gnawed at the inside of her cheek as she stared down at the beating heart in her hands. Of all the things Indiana had ever done, she never had the privilege to hold someone's beating heart. It made her feel—you guessed it—guilty once again. The thought alone that Indiana could simply squeeze the heart and kill him made her feel sick, which was rather ironic.

The Princess of Neverland stood on one side of Emma Swan, who impatiently held the mirror that had been snapped in half by Regina. The Lost Boy from before held the other half. Not only would they be able to speak to Henry, but they would also be able to see him.

Regina walked over to the other side of Emma. The mirror in the Savior's hands rose and surely enough, they could see him. "Henry, can you hear me?" Emma questioned.

"Mom?" Henry asked in surprise. The fairytale characters smiled in relief, seeing as he was safe.

"I'm here, too, Henry!" Snow White exclaimed from Regina's side.

"No... this is a trick," Henry opinionated. Peter Pan had pulled him too far in to not believing he would be saved.

"No! No, this is not a trick," Emma immediately responded. "Henry, I promise you this is real. Kid, it's Operation Cobra Rescue. It's us."

Indiana furrowed her eyebrows together. "Who the hell decided on that codename?" Indiana wondered.

"Y-You're here?" the boy questioned, waiting for reassurance and ignoring his Nanny's sarcasm.

"Yes! We're coming to get you," Emma assured her son. Henry looked over to the side, stating that someone was coming to him. He added that it was Pan and that he needed to go.

"Henry, I know I've told you all these stories from my times in Neverland, but whatever you do... don't trust Peter," Indiana warned. "We love you!"

With that, Henry nodded and threw the mirror on the ground. It shattered, cutting off any possible communication between them. After that was over with, the quartet of women decided to walk back to their camp and wait for Prince Charming and Captain Hook.

"Do you guys think Henry's okay?" Snow wondered.

"He'll be fine," Emma said, mostly trying to assure herself.

"And just how do you know that?" Regina snapped.

"Because he's our son and he's a survivor, and now he has something to survive for," Emma easily answered, not looking back to look at the Evil Queen. "He knows we're coming and Indiana warned him and we're not gonna let him down."

"I'm sorry I doubted you," Indiana suddenly blurted out, rather out of character. Indiana Jones rarely apologized. Emma stopped and turned around. "I just... I don't want anyone to get hurt. I just want Henry to come back to us safe and sound."

"She didn't hurt anyone. I did," Regina pointed out, walking over to Indiana's side with her hands on her hips. "That's what I'm here for... one happy family."

A crunching sound that came from the trees caused the girls to reflexively pull out their weapons. Indiana gripped her whip tightly while Regina summoned a fireball. Emma and Snow White pointed their weapons at the trees, but everyone was relieved to see Charming pop out. "You can stand down. It's us," the man assured. Everyone lowered their weapons. Hook went walking out behind him.

Prince Charming immediately went walking toward his wife and planting a passionate kiss on her lips, picking her up and spinning her around. "Uh, where's the Sextant?" Regina awkwardly asked, not wanting to hear their smooching from behind her while Indiana made a face. She stuck her finger in her mouth, pretending to gag.

Killian looked down, disappointed. "I'm afraid Pan got to it first," he briefly explained.

Snow pulled away from the kiss. "I'm not complaining, but what was—?" Charming kissing her once again interrupted her.

"Oh, bite my cunt and call me Shirley. I'm complaining," Indiana declared, rubbing the back of her head and looking away from the couple. She wondered if this was how Felix felt when he walked in on her and Peter's make out sessions all those years ago.

"What I wouldn't give for another sleeping curse," Regina mentioned. Charming finally pulled away, stating that Hook saved his life. This made Indiana raise her eyebrows. She could have sworn the two despised each other.

"You sure you wanna tell them that, mate?" the pirate queried. Snow looked from the pirate to her husband worriedly.

"On our trek, we were ambushed by Lost Boys... pinned down, outnumbered. But Hook, he risked his life to stop me from getting hit by a poisoned arrow," David explained. He walked toward the pirate. "But if it wasn't for Hook, I wouldn't be alive. Your flask, please." Killian nodded and pulled out the small bottle of Rum. "I thought he deserved a little credit."

Killian thanked the man as David took a swig of the drink. He passed it over to Snow. "To Hook," Snow cheered before drinking some. She offered it to Regina.

"I don't drink rum," Regina said with disgust in her voice.

"I don't either, but I need it," Indiana stated. "To my idiot of a brother." Before Snow could protest, the teenager took it and downed some of it. It tasted like variants of butterscotch that burned as it slid down her throat. Snow raised her eyebrows at this, but didn't say anything. Indiana passed it over to Emma.

With that, Indiana, Snow White, Prince Charming, and Regina Mills walked away to continue their journey back to the camp. When Indiana turned around to see if the Captain and the Savior were following behind, she was surprised to see them kissing not too far away. Smirking, Indiana turned back around to catch up to her group, making a mental note to talk to Emma and her brother about it later.

Captain Hook stayed back, just as Emma ordered him to. She didn't need her family and friends to question what took them so long and what they were doing together. The man sipped on his rum, thinking about the fervent kiss that he shared with the woman. That was when the sound of someone clearing his or her throat captured the pirate's attention.

He looked over to see Peter Pan staring at him. "You really should've taken my deal," Peter said. See, while Hook and David were together on the peak, Peter had offered Hook a deal. He offered that they worked together again. The only thing was that Peter needed reassurance before he let the pirate in on the juicy details of being business partners again. He needed Killian to kill David, but the pirate didn't do such a thing.

"It doesn't look like I need your help with Emma after all, mate," the pirate responded, smiling at him like a dork.

"What—you think that kiss actually meant something?" Peter wondered in surprise.

"I do," Killian answered easily. "I think it means she's finally starting to see me for the man I am."

"What? A one-handed pirate with a drinking problem?" Peter Pan queried insultingly. Killian chuckled lightly, unentertained. "I'm no grown up, but I'm pretty sure that's less than appealing."

"A Man of Honor," Hook corrected. "I'm sure that's something my baby sister wouldn't call you."

Peter ignored his comment about Indiana, walking forward as the pirate's flask clanged on the ground. "So tell me—what would a Man of Honor like yourself do with a big, fat secret?"

"Um... well, that depends what the secret is," Killian answered truthfully, not sure where Peter Pan was going with this.

"Baelfire," Peter said, standing up. "Neal... Whatever name he goes by these days. The guy Emma loves. Henry's father. Indiana's best mate."

"What of him?" Killian curiously and worriedly queried. He stood up from the fallen tree trunk he sat on. "He's dead." At least, that was what everyone thought.

"No. I'm afraid not. He's alive," Peter revealed deviously. "That's not even the best part. He's in Neverland."

"He is?"

"Oh, yes. Can you believe it? I'm sure that Emma would love to know that Henry's father is still alive," Peter continued. "But I'd hate for that to get in the way of a budding romance. So I'll leave it up to you... to tell her or not." He turned to leave, but stopped. He smirked. "Let's see what kind of man you really are."
