INDIANA JONES
xxx. LIFE SUCKER

╚══════════════════╝

PRESENT
STORYBROOKE

DOCTOR WHALE POUNDED ON Regina Mills' front door with a large crowd standing behind him. Each person there had the same intention as the other, which was to do harm unto the Evil Queen. The woman was the reason why they were in this strange land without magic. All they wanted was to know how they would return home. They would get their answer, whether they harmed her or not.

A sickeningly sweet smile was etched onto her face as the Evil Queen pulled open her front door. "Can I help you?" Regina condescendingly asked the people of Storybrooke.

"That smirk isn't going to last forever, Regina," Doctor Whale sneered threateningly. "You took everything from us, and now—"

"What?" Regina interrupted, unimpressed. "Now you're gonna kill me?"

Doctor Whale nodded. "You need to suffer first."

Regina rolled her eyes at the man. "Listening to you has been enough suffering for all of us." She turned to the crowd. "That's right. You wanted to see your Queen? Well, my dears, here... she... is." She waved her hands, causing the group of people to jump back fearfully, waiting for magic to hit them.

When nothing happened, it didn't take them all very long to realize that Regina was powerless. Doctor Whale pushed her against the pillar on her patio, smirking as he wondered, "Now, where were we?"

"Let her go! Let her go!" Emma repeatedly shouted as she pushed through the crowd with her friends and family directly on her tail.

After pushing him off, Doctor Whale demanded, "Why should we listen to you?"

"Because I am still the Sheriff," Emma spat.

"And because she saved you! All of you!" James added in exclamation.

"And because no matter what Regina did, it does not justify this!" Snow White exclaimed. "We are not murderers here!" She glanced over at Indiana. "Not all of us are murderers!"

That caused Indiana to smack Snow's arm defensively, even though she was right. "Well, we're not from this world," Whale hissed.

"Well, you're in it now. You have been for the past 28 years, actually," Indiana sassed. She desperately wanted to choke him to death, but she didn't have the heart to do such a thing with Henry standing a foot in front of her. "We're done here, Whale."

She grabbed him and pulled him far away from Emma and Regina with James on her tail. "Yeah, well, you're not our Prince," Doctor Whale spat at James.

Prince Charming stared at him in confusion. "Who were you back in our world?"

"That's my business."

Scoffing, Indiana said, "Well, his business is making sure this town doesn't get run to the ground, so whether or not he's your prince isn't the issue. We have a whole damn lot to figure out, and this isn't the way, darling."

Snow burst forward, joining her friend's side. "And Regina's death won't provide any answers," Snow mentioned. "She needs to be locked up for her safety and more importantly, for ours."

Nodding, James and Indiana went over to take her to the police station. "That's the first time I've heard you agree with me in a long time," James admitted.

Indiana shrugged. "Don't get used to it."

After locking Regina Mills in the Sheriff's Station, Indiana Jones would be found standing on the inside of Mr. Gold's Pawnbroker. She observed all of the trinkets and baubles that belonged to the citizens of Storybrooke. Each one held personal significance, a story, including Indiana's whip.

Standing behind the counter, Mr. Gold (also known as Rumplestiltskin) was spotted pouring himself a cup of tea from a shiny kettle. "What can I do for you, ladies, gentlemen, and Indiana?" Rumplestiltskin asked.

"30 years later and you're still not funny," Indiana snapped as Emma placed her hands on the glass counter and demanded, "What you can do is tell us what you did."

"I'm sorry," Mr. Gold half-heartedly apologized. He glanced over at Snow White and Charming before looking at Indiana, who was looking around his store. Then, he shifted his gaze back to Emma. "You're gonna have to be more specific."

Charming folded his arms over his chest. "You know damn well what we're talking about," he angrily spat.

"You double-crossed Emma, you took your potion thing from her..." Indiana listed off, poking around on one side of the shop. "Oh, and you did who knows what to this damned town. And we can't forget the deal breaker. You risked Henry's life."

Mr. Gold refrained himself from rolling his eyes at the teenager. It seemed as though old habits died hard. He and Indiana still disliked each other enough to always sass the other. "Well, that is quite a litany of grievances, now isn't it?" Mr. Gold wondered in response. He made direct eye contact with the angry mother.

"Maybe I don't need answers," Emma started to say. "Maybe I just need to punch you in the face." Mr. Gold began to laugh in a sarcastic manner.

"Really, dearie? Allow me to answer your questions with some of my own, all right? Did you dear boy, Henry survive? Is the curse broken?" Mr. Gold quizzed. Emma nodded to both questions. "And let's see, uh, Ms. Swan, how long have you been searching for your parents? Seems like rather a punch in the face, I deserve a thank you."

"Hm, no, I think you still deserve a good uppercut," Indiana voiced, bending down to look at a shelf as she continued to search for something. "Let's not forget all the random shit you put me through because you wanted something like a decoration."

"How could I forget, dearie? Check the top shelf," Rumplestiltskin called out. She paused to look up there before grinned excitedly. She pulled out a box that contained two objects. "I believe I deserve a thank you, now, don't I?"

"Whatever," Indiana mumbled, happily dusting off her whip and trusty dagger that had been sitting in the box.

"Twist my words all you want," Emma challenged, crossing her arms over her chest. "What was that purple haze that you brought?"

"You know..." Rumplestiltskin trailed off. He moved his body, making a single hand gesture. "Magic." Snow asked why. "Not telling."

As the Dark One said that, a rumbling in the ground caused everyone, excluding Mr. Gold, to stumble around. Snow White reached out to her daughter, whereas Indiana threw herself at the counter, for she had been walking back to the group with her newly found weapons. The sound of car alarms proceeded to wail in the distance as Snow and Charming instantly ran to the door, looking through the windows.

Electricity seemed to crackle from the power lines as a shadowy figure flew around the dark skies of Storybrooke. That was all Snow and James could see. "That is my gift to you," Mr. Gold calmly commented. "That is going to take care of Regina."

"And to think it's not even my birthday," Indiana bitterly remarked.

With that being said, the quartet rushed out of the Pawnbroker and ran in the direction of the Sheriff's Department. Hanging out with Regina was one of the most peculiar sighs Indiana had ever seen in Storybrooke. Floating in front of Regina was the same shadowy figure. The figure wasn't what grasped Indiana's attention. It was the fact that it was literally sucking the life out of her.

James let out a battle cry as he threw one of the many chairs in the office at it. The figure screeched in response before throwing David across the room. Emma instinctively ducked under one of the closest desks while Mary Margaret and Indiana stood, unsure of what to do. The figure threw the other desk in James and Indiana's direction. Indiana dropped to the floor with a squeal as she ducked. James, on the other hand, was quick enough to jump out of the way before the object could crush the prince.

Then, the monster immediately went back to sucking the life out of Regina. Mary Margaret grabbed two objects out of a place that was unknown to Indiana. She held up a can of air freshener and a lighter. Yelling to gain its attention, she lit a small flame and used the freshener to create a makeshift flamethrower. The monster roared in pain before crashing through the window, leaving them alone.

Emma rushed forward to grab Regina, who laid on the ground while coughing. "What the hell was that thing?" Emma demanded breathlessly.

"A wraith!" Regina coughed out.

"It's a soul-sucker... a life-sucker," Indiana explained, familiar with the name of the creature. It was one of the many things Aunt Lucy used to scare Indiana into being a good child who didn't misbehave. It usually worked for a couple of days until Lucy had to switch off onto a new thing to scare her with.

"Did I—?" Snow began to wonder.

"Kill it? No. It's regenerating," explained Regina after interrupting Snow White's question. "It doesn't stop until it devours its prey... Me."

She held up her hand, revealing a strange marking. "Geez, that's depressing," Indiana couldn't help but mumble. "There has to be some way to kill it."

Emma looked over at Regina once more, agreeing with Indiana. "There's no way," Regina answered hopelessly. "You can't kill something that's already dead."

"Then we have a problem," Emma stated. Charming looked up from the ground, shaking his head.

"No... we don't. Regina does," he corrected. Regina and Snow snapped their heads in his direction.

"What?"

"David?"

"You want to let her die?" Indiana asked in surprise. "That's not very Charming-like, now, is it?"

"Why not? Then, it goes away. Then we're safe," David elaborated. "You don't even like her, Indiana!"

"That's true, but I've done enough to her already," Indiana said with a shrug. "Where do the you think that scar came from?" She motioned to the scar by her lip.

"You punched her in the face once. That's nothing compared to what she's put us all through. She's part of the reason your Wanted posters were still up after you were missing for so many decades," David continued, attempting to convince her.

"Wait, you gave her that scar?" Emma asked in amazement.

Ignoring the girl who was in awe of Indiana Jones, the brunette continued. "And what do you plan on telling Henry, huh?" Indiana snapped. "Hey kid, we sacrificed your adoptive mother like a goat to the Gods."

"That's quite the example you're setting for your daughter, Charming," Regina sarcastically stated.

"No!" David exclaimed, raising his voice. He walked forward, shoving his finger in Regina's direction. "You don't get to judge us."

"Let me ask you something. Where do you think that thing came from?" Regina asked. "Gold."

David looked over at his daughter, who said, "I made a promise to Henry. She's not dying." Regina let out a breath of relief.

"Promise or not, Henry would kill us if we hurt her," Indiana added. She looked back at Regina. "If it can't be killed, then what do you suggest? Have any bright ideas leftover after 28 years?"

Regina paused for a moment. "We'll send it somewhere it can't hurt anyone."

Indiana nodded at the sound of this, almost immediately understanding their motive. They were going to send the Wraith back to the Enchanted Forest.

"Regina..." Emma warned, hearing the Wraith hitting the locked doors. The blonde stood alongside her parents and Indiana Jones in the Town Hall. The plan was to use the Mad Hatter's hat to open up a vortex to send the Wraith back to the Enchanted Forest where it belonged.

"I'm trying," Regina responded. The lights flickered as Regina kept trying to make the hat spin. The Wraith roared, causing Indiana to clutch the broom in her hand. The brooms were being used as makeshift torches, considering the Wraith appeared to dislike fire.

"Look, I did you one by making sure Charming wouldn't kill you. Now do one for us and hurry the hell up!" Indiana barked. That was when the doors suddenly flew open. The Wraith's roars were louder, now that there wasn't a barrier blocking the sound. A gush of wind was blown at them as Regina stated that magic was different in the realm. Charming continued to jab the broom in the Wraith's direction.

Emma squatted down in attempt to help Regina out. The entire Town Hall seemed to have fire in each corner. It was all that was keeping the Wraith not very far away from Regina. She placed her hand on Regina's arm. The vortex was instantly opened.

With her back turned to the Wraith, Regina looked down at the purple vortex that spun rapidly. Seeing the chance to attack, the Wraith flew at her, but it didn't get to her because Emma pushed Regina out of the way. The Wraith went directly into the vortex. Indiana looked down, noticing a small stream of purple light flying at Emma's foot.

"Move, dammit!" Indiana shrieked, running forward.

This time, Emma was pushed out of the way. The light wrapped itself around her foot as she gripped Emma's arm. The last thing Indiana could hear was Snow and Charming's shouts.

All Indiana could think was, "This is what I get for being the hero."
