Is freedom underrated?
SIX MONTHS CONCEDED
It was the evening time in Bangalore. The summer air was hot and clumsy. We were waiting at the cafe Shanaya asked us to do. We came to Bangalore since Harsha and Shanaya's engagement was scheduled. Later they both came and we had our coffee together after a long time.
"Thanks" Shanaya said looking at both us. I knew she would say that. Shreya gave a naughty smile looking at me.
"You have a right to live happily. We didn't do anything. It's your love that brought Harsha back to you." I said.
Shanaya grinned. Harsha was as usual silent.
We ended there and came out of the café. I crossed the road to get the car. Both the girls stood at the entrance of the restaurant.
"I'll also get our car." Harsha said to Shanaya and crossed the road. When he reached the car he searched his pockets for keys. But they were missing.
He turned back and found the keys in the middle of the road. He couldn't comprehend how they fell down. He reached them and about to pick them up. Then all of a sudden a truck took a U-turn and started coming towards him crossly.
He got alert and reached the opposite side. But exactly a car is ahead of him and about to hit him. Then Shanaya rushed and dragged him aside. She ran very ghastly that they both lost the balance and fell on the foot path. Shreya and I ran to them hurriedly.
"I thought you were hit. You would have died. I'm lucky. I love you. I love you." Shanaya was repeating those words and hugged him tightly. Her face became red and her small eyes were filled with tears.
Harsha kept aside the pains and was staring at her cute face.
"Ms.servai you were thinking that I would have died. But I was thinking that I had just reborn in your hands." Harsha said getting up.
Hearing him Shanaya cried along with a smile. She squeezed him cosier than before.
We both giggled watching them.
The next day, their engagement day, was may be the most special day for them. In grand and glory they both exchanged their rings. The smiles on their faces made me glad, like really glad.
The next day we took leave from Harsha and reached Hyderabad. Shreya and I had no idea of how countless times Shanaya thanked us for giving her Harsha back to her.
*
After three months I was in my cabin doing some extra work. Everyone had gone away. The twenty storey building was almost empty and I was one of rarest people there.
I opened my personal dairy. I once again read the letter she sent me and the poem I wrote for her. A drop of tear fell down.
"I remember the day when I was walking in the rain and Chaitra came running for me with an umbrella. I want her to come again for me or if possible run from as far as possible and keep her umbrella on me.
I wish I could sleep freely and Chaitra would wake me up. I again sought to run away to the restaurant she proposed me and desired to reject her again, although it was egotistic and cruel.
I want her before me, to cry, to laugh, to run, to tease and to love. I beg god to give her again. I ask him to offer her always."
I closed the book. Then I saw someone in the dark at the corner of room.
I walked near it. There were golden particles flying and Chaitra arose from them. I couldn't believe my eyes.
"I kept my promise Varun. I came for you." She said. Her voice was like echoes. I was surprised to the paramount in my life. I tried to touch her but she disappeared. I searched around but didn't find her. I laughed.
"I miss you Chaitra. Every second, you are coming into my thoughts and it was becoming hard to forget you as my heart won't stop loving you. I am and I will also keep your promises" I said. I said to me. I said as I wished that she would hear me.
I came to the reality as I saw my mobile blinking and opened it.
"I was leaving to Bangalore today. Harsha was planning a family shopping to the marriage. Miss you darling. Bye." It was a text from Shreya.
She decided to leave without me.
"Independent girls all over" I said to myself and laughed.

"The friends we mostly miss and the friends we miserably lost, permanently live in our bliss and worries. Even if we die they still lives in our death." -
