29. A Walk 2 Remember

Shane's POV

Its been hours since Trinity has been in surgery. I sat in her room with Bianca, my nieces' half brother, and Trinity's husband.

If you would have told me I'd fall in love and nearly lose her I wouldn't believe you.

There was obvious tension between Jon and I. Even with Trinity fighting for her life. All I wanted was for her to be healed. There was a chance that I'd lose her forever.

I couldn't be numb to the simple fact that I'm in a loveless marriage. Every moment I spend with Bunny, I realize how much I love this women. There are folks that don't approve us, but I don't  care about the naysayers.

My phone kept my attention while I waited for the operation to be over. I didn't have anything to say to her husband.

But, one thing that I couldn't stop looking at was Paul Jr. he absolutely looked like my former brother in law. He just had brown skin. My sister never loved him, and it was obvious because of all of the affairs they both embarked on.

Kiera walked through the door and immediately she asked, "Where is Trinity. Is she okay?" She looked around to see us sitting around a room with an empty bed.

"She's in surgery right now. We're still waiting for her to finish. We haven't heard anything from the doctor." Bianca stood up and hugged her friend. "But there is one interesting fact. She was pregnant."

Kiera's eyebrows rose and she looked over at me. Jon walked out of the room. I guess he didn't want to hear about her being pregnant by me. She focused her attention back on Bianca. "Wow.. I don't know what to say."

"Just don't say anything. Trinity was on her way to talk to me. Obviously about the Marty thing. I feel like this is all my fault." Tears fell from Bianca's face as she hugged her friend. It was such a somber feeling to know that we could all lose Trinity.

I couldn't help but think about the possibility of having a baby with Trinity. She would have been an amazing mother to our child.

I want to know her response to her being pregnant and not knowing it. Would she have kept the baby? There were so many questions I had.

Kiera sat next to me. "Are you okay?" She asked, and I honestly appreciated the support Trinity's friends gave me.

"No, but I will be. It was hard to see her hooked up to those machines." Before I could say another word an older couple walked into the room.

"Hi Mr. McCray.." Kiera extended her hand to the darker skin man. I'm assuming the man was Trinity's father. I never thought I'd be meeting him. He glared at him and then back at Kiera.

"Who is this white man?" Mr. McCray asked, obviously not interested in getting to know me. I didn't know how much he knew about me, if any.

"Mr. McCray. This is her former boss." Kiera said. Thankfully, she didn't introduce me as the baby's father or anything else. I don't know what she told her parents. She never brings them up, so I am not aware of what type of relationship they have.

"You're the man that ruined my daughter's marriage." He said, sternly causing everyone to turn their heads to look at us.

Great, he does know something about our affair, but I am not sure from who. Maybe Jon said something to him about us. Jon was no where to be found, so I did not get to see their interaction.

"Sir, with all due respect, this isn't the time for that. Your daughter is fighting for her life. I'm here to support Trinity." I said, still sitting in my chair. I hated confrontation, especially during a time like this. No matter how this man approached me, he is still her father. I will not disrespect this man, no matter what he says to me.

Mr. McCray walked over to me. "It's men like you that I told my daughter to stay away from." He pointed at me. " You probably thought you could buy her with fancy gifts. She's not that kind of woman."

"I agree. She's not and I've never bought her anything besides a pair of customized shoes for work. But, I don't want to argue with you. I'm just here to be there for her." I had already said too much, but I just wanted to show him that I wasn't that kind of dude. I wasn't going to throw Jon under the bus either.

I am sure they did not even know about how this all started. I am just trying my best to remain calm and respect her parents. Mrs. McCray walked over to us.

"Hi Shane, I am her mother. Please don't pay her father any mind. Thank you for being here." She said, and she hugged me. Her embrace was warm and welcoming. I couldn't believe how nice she was being to me. That's exactly what I needed in this moment.

Jon walked back into the room and her parents swarmed towards him. "Jon, are you okay? What is going with y'all getting a divorce?" Mr. McCray asked. They were familiar with him and knew him for a long time. I couldn't be jealous at the attention he received.

"Naw... I am not taking this well. But, she doesn't want me. She doesn't love me anymore." Jon broke down into tears and her parents hugged him. It was a lot of emotions going on in the room.

Dr. Rivera came into the room. Everyone stood around him waiting to hear what he had to say. "The surgery went good. We were able to stop the internal bleeding."

Everyone started praising and thanking God. I just wanted to hear what else he had to say. "Trinity did in fact lose the baby. I know that is hard to hear and from my understand no one knew about the baby."

"Baby? Nah, my daughter wasn't pregnant. There must be some mix up." Mr. McCray said, raising his voice. I honestly don't know why this man was acting this way. It was almost like he didn't really know her. Everyone knew she wanted children, but I am sure not at this time since she's focused on her career.

"Yes, she was five weeks pregnant. But, she's stable now. We're going to bring her in. Please do not overwhelm her with questions. There is some memory loss, and we're not sure how much." The doctor said.

The nurses brought Trinity back into the hospital room. Everyone was excited to see her and that she is alive. She looked confused when she looked at us though. "Mama... daddy? Who are all of these strange people in here. Why is Shane McMahon in my hospital room? Am I famous?" She looked at me confused, like she never knew me.

Her parents were over to her bedside. "Baby, you are a wrestler remember? You are married to Jonathan Fatu."

She looked even more confused. "Married?" She looked down at her hands. "I don't have a ring on my finger."

This was disheartened. She does not know who none of us are. The doctor finally spoke up. "She might never remember any of you. But, there is a slight chance that she could gain her memory back." He sighed. "I will give you a moment to be with her. I will come back." The doctor left and we all just looked at each other.

Jon walked over to Trinity's bed. "Baby, it's me Uce. Your husband, baby."

Trinity scrunched her face. "I don't know you. I never seen you a day in my life. But, no one is telling me why Shane McMahon is here. Damn, you look sexy with grey hair. You're giving me daddy vibes. You're fine Shane. If I could remember my phone number I'd give it to you." She couldn't stop looking at me. It was hard for her to look at me and not remember what we shared.

Hunter walked into the room and hugged Bianca. "You're awake Trinity."

Trinity started laughing. "Triple H? It's time to play the game!" She started singing his theme song. "Can I have your autograph? Is Stephanie coming too? Today must be my lucky day. Is this Make A wish foundation?"

"Baby, she lost her memory. She doesn't remember us but I guess she knows you and Shane because of television. Not because she's friends with us." Bianca informed Hunter.

"Whoa, girl with the ponytail you need to back up. He's married to Stephanie McMahon. Watch your hands!" She said, to Bianca.

The things she was saying were crazy. I hope that she gets her memory back. Jon walked out of the room. He couldn't handle that she didn't remember him.

"Baby, how much do you remember?" Her mother asked.

"I remember being an Orlando Magic girl, but that's it. Shit, I am supposed to be at practice."

Everyone sighed. This was going to be a lot.
