Comfort

Hanji's POV

"We have not concluded to who has committed this act of violence, but we have help coming from the highest law enforcement to solve this murder." Tears just kept dripping when I heard the news about him. If only I didn't push him away from me... he might've not been killed. Erwin... I'm so sorry... but it was in the past. Whoever killed him... whoever did that to him... I hope they would pay...

I wanted to grieve all day, but Dad wouldn't allow it. He wouldn't allow me to stay home by myself while I did nothing. Just wiping my tears, I tried to put on a straight face and forced a smile. Erwin...

"Everything's alright..." I whispered to myself and walked outside. "Everything's gonna be alright... everything's gonna be alright..." But Erwin remained on my mind. What could I say about that? Who killed him...? And why?

Arriving at school, I saw a police car out in front. Only one thought came in mind: it was about Erwin's murder. Were they gonna question everyone? If so... I'm one of the only people that they would question because I was his girlfriend. Am I gonna be suspected for murder?! No, I'm innocent. They can't do anything against me... can they?

I attended school as normal- and finally called in by the principal. Instead, it was a meeting with two officers. One of them was a woman and the other was a man. They were both standing and the principal was out of sight. The woman gently smiled towards me, greeting me with some comforting warmth.

"Ah, Ms. Zoe, am I correct?

I nod my head. "Yes, I'm Hanji Zoe. Is this... about Erwin?"

"I'm sorry for your loss, Ms. Zoe. I understand that he was your boyfriend?"

Once more, I nodded my head. "Yes, that's correct. Can you tell me what happened to him when he... when he... when he died...?"

The female officer looked to her partner- almost like she was waiting for his approval. Oddly enough, he wasn't dressed in an officer's uniform. Instead, he was wearing a black suit and a blood-red tie. He just stared off at me, almost examining me well. Did he suspect me?  "Coleman?"

He sighed heavily, waving his hand off. "I can't explain the details, Ms. Zoe. My condolences."

Tears began to pile up in my eyes... and the female officer handed me tissues. I accepted them, sighing softly. "Forgive me for not introducing myself. I'm Officer Patty Jones." Her eyes then darted to the man in the suit.

The man then sighed heavily, "I'm Special Agent Arthur Coleman with the FBI. And I'll be completely honest with you, we're going to do the best that we can to figure out who killed him. For now, we need to ask you questions to why Erwin Smith might have been killed." I simply nodded my head, willing to say anything to help catch who killed him.

Levi's POV

I never thought that there would be so much things that would've related to his death. When I saw that Hanji was taken in... I couldn't handle it- but I had to lay down and wait. I had to wait for her to heal her broken heart from that man. Once she was comfortable, I'll be able to tend to my one and only light.

I watched her return to class, and I had to go up to her. Unfortunately, it didn't stop my stammering and stuttering. I felt I wasn't good enough to be hers only. Quickly, I wanted to see my light... so I walked over to her.

"Hanji..."

She jumps as she looked up at me. Her eyes were red with crying... oh... I would wipe them away from her. "L-Levi... d-did you want something?" Hanji's voice was on the verge of cracking as she sniffs.

"I'm sorry... about Erwin..."

"I-It's fine... it's fine."

My hand was placed on her shoulder, and I pulled her close- close enough to smell her rose-scented hair. I was being engulfed by her scent... and I loved it. "You're not fine. You can talk to me about everything. You opened up to me- you took me in... now let me repay you back your kindness towards me. Talk to me..."

Hanji began to nod her head, turning towards me with a gentle smile on her face. "Well... we can talk later... if that's alright with you."

I nodded my head as well... finally being within her sights. "Yes, that's alright with me, Hanji. It's really alright with me..."

I found her after school, just being gloomy- but her light never changed. Although it was being dimly lit, she was still my one and only light. Casually, I walked up to her and had a natural smile. I saw that I was able to have natural feelings about her... she makes me so complete...

"Hanji..."

"Levi!" She smiles in relief. "You didn't leave me... you didn't leave me!" Hanji then wrapped her arms around me- and I felt so... so warm... her light- her light!

I chuckled, smelling her scent and having her near me. I felt normal... normal enough to have her here with me. "Hanji... I would never leave you... not ever. I'll be here for you. Now... tell me everything... for I am always here..."
