Dear Heart

Prologue

The worst is made out of bad. But bad comes when good is neglected. All good is abandoned in the hills.

That now the hills scorched with the passion to split, for long they had been clasped together but the burden of the human feud was enough to let go of every forbearance.

'Breath in, Breath out.'

Keshika clenched the hand of her last hope when all had been wiped away, just like people perished in the flood.

With a desire to see the world from a height she had come here. Here great minds found thoughts to change the world, but now this world has changed this place.

Mother has waited for an eternity to give them child-like sleep.

They had inflicted a lot of pain on her. Burned her with the rage of carbon, Flood her with possibility.

Her only children weren't human, so the bird who wailed gazing at leaves was rescinded and left with no home. Every tear was discerned by her, now she was ready to slash into two, to provide a varied world to her children.

'Okay?'

She nodded.

His eyes looked for fear in them, a shock could do worse harm. It wasn't something new for him, months he had spent here. Beholding numerous memories concealed in here, without the last goodbye.

A young lady passed a subtle smile. Scars here wouldn't be substantial but would leave traumas that many times took a lifetime to heal, drawing the patches on the heart.

The medical team checked the wounds, nothing to be worried about. Maybe that scar on the heart would be restrained for long.

'Here is an emergency.'

He rushed back holding a child. The medical team tried to take him but he wouldn't leave his finger. There were faint tears on his cheeks and words on his lips. 'Maa'

The lines of tension ran through his forehead. His rough finger held the delicate hands of the child. Someday he was just like him but life had changed him. Now the roughness and scars spoke of that pain which wouldn't be conveyed.

In this valley, he had seen many losing their beloved without a meeting. Now this child lost his parents at an age where he had felt their love but never relation.

Warming his cold finger he tried to provide a little heat. The worry has hazed all his emotions.

Could anyone besides a mother be this worried for life? She thought.

She noticed the stars on his uniform. Captain.  For the child to be treated well he sat down to put him on his lap. Now she saw his name Viaansh. Captain Viaansh.

'Miss?'

A person for the team called her.

'Keshika.'

'Here you can make a call.'

Hastily taking the phone for him she unconsciously repeated the number before her finger typed, missing a digit. She typed again.

'Yes maa, I am safe. Just brought to a safe place. Don't worry. I am doing fine. I don't have any injuries. Hello— I will get back. Many people are waiting.'

She returned the phone and looked to thank him but found him gone. Duty never stops. Just task changes. He was required as hope for those left with nothing.

But that face, that feeling she could never forget. It was something in his face that she couldn't disregard.

Days passed and she got back but that face would make its place in unfamiliar dreams, left incomplete.

That day it was news that captured the attention of her friend.

'You are on the T.V.'

It was from the hills. But what hooked her eyes was Captain Viaansh saving her. They were the same eyes whose depth she yearned to behold. Before her thoughts would come to cease the news moved towards another story.

She browsed to find the news on the internet. The clip only had his face for a second. The features of his face were indistinct but that face was etched on her heart. That was enough to make her sense of all emotions.

'Looking at yourself?'

'Maybe. I am finding out how you desire to know someone when no words have been exchanged. And it feels like you have always been together.'

'Sorry?'

'Who is this stranger?'

'No one. Just wanted to know.'

She sighed she couldn't and she wanted to talk about it. 'Eyes have such a depth that sometimes you see what faces don't exhibit. Now I want to see myself in them.'

'It's okay. It appears like an infatuation. It happens. You would forget.'

Would she?

No words were exchanged. Her heart was plunging for someone who was just doing his duty. It was forbidden. Something her heart would never approve of but she was lost to infer.

She was aiming to complete what was abandoned incomplete.
