"What a terrible creature, torturing such a poor, innocent youth," I heard a woman's voice said.

I looked around and saw a woman. She had deer antlers and a deer tail.

"Ah, do not be afraid, young one," The woman said with a reassuring smile.

~Present~

Tenma's POV:

I had a better look when she came to the light. She has short dark green hair and wore a green sweater with the sleeves rolled up over an orange shirt and a long white skirt with a green horizontal line.

"Greetings, I am Aki, caretaker of the Kogarashi Manor. I pass by here every day to see if anyone has fallen down. You are the first human to come here in a long time," She said with a smile.

I tried to stand up but my whole body ached.

"Don't move, you'll only get hurt," Aki said and went to me, "Here, let me heal you."

I saw her hand glow green and placed her hand on my head. I saw a green aura surround me and then after a couple of minutes, it disappeared and my body didn't ache anymore. I looked at my hand and my wound was gone. After all those times that I was mistreated on the surface, this was the second time someone ever treated me nicely, including the one that saved me.

"How are you feeling now young one?" Aki asked.

I then hugged her and said, "I am fine now, thank you miss Aki."

She hugged me back and said, "Y-your welcome, also you don't have to call me miss."

After a while, we separated from the hug. She then got up and lent me a hand.

"Come young one, I will bring to the manor," She said with a smile.

I took her hand and stood up. I followed her while looking at my surroundings, there were so many trees and flowers. When we arrived, I was amazed by the outside of the manor. It had Sakura trees around it and it was very large. She brought me inside and it has a very large space. She then brought me to a room and we both stood in front of the door.

"This is your room now, make yourself at home while I prepare something," Aki said with a smile.

She then left me alone in front of the door to my room. I opened the door and went into my room. It was a good size, the bed was very comfy, the wardrobe was full of clothes, it has its own bathroom, a computer, a shelf with books and other things. I changed my clothes, but I was shocked to see all my wounds have healed, although some of the scars were still kinda visible. I wore a teal and white striped shirt and gray pants. I laid on my bed and looked at the ceiling while thoughts came into my mind.

"Is it really alright for me to stay?" I said in my mind, "The people on the surface said that hybrids are bad, but I don't see anything bad except for Wolfy. Maybe he had a reason."

Then I heard the door open, I went into a sitting position and saw Aki standing by the door. Then a memory flashed and I remembered when I was on the surface. Every time my father comes in, he grabs me and drags me to the basement for a beating.

"Are you alright young one?" Aki asked with a worried look on her face.

"Y-yeah, I'm alright Aki," I said with a smile.

"If you say so, come young one," Aki said.

I got out of bed and went with her. As we walked to the dining room, I could already smell the food, it smelled really good. When we arrived we washed our hands and ate, the food was so delicious.

"What do you think?" Aki asked with a smile.

"It's delicious," I replied with a smile, "May I ask a question?"

"Sure, what do you want to ask?" Aki replied with a smile.

"Well, why are you treating me so nicely?" I asked, "It's not that I am thankful, it's just that, the people on the surface say that your kind is very bad. But I don't believe them, but after that encounter with Wolfy, I am unsure. Although I still believe that not everyone is bad."

"Oh, I see. Not all hybrids are mean, we are just misunderstood, that's all," Aki said with a smile, "Even if us hybrids were never treated nicely on the surface before, doesn't mean we have to do the same to humans. It's better to have peace than war after all."

"Hai," I said agreeing with her, "Also, can I call you Aki-nee?"

This caused Aki to get surprised and then she smiles.

"Sure thing," She replies with a smile.

"Also, I am wondering, why did you fall off the cliff? is it by accident?" Aki-nee asked.

 I was shocked by the sudden question, I didn't want her to know my real intention of jumping off the cliff.

"Oh, I like to explore and I ended up to the cliff, I tripped and fell in, I guess that's how I got here," I lied to her.

"That's unfortunate, but I will make sure you have a good time living here," Aki-nee said, "I never got your name, so what is your name young one?"

"I'm Matsukaze Tenma," I said with a smile.

"Well, nice to meet you, Tenma-nee," Aki-nee said with a smile.

Since that day, we spent time together and we were very happy. I wished this would never change, I consider Aki-nee as a family, she made me feel loved. She taught me new things and even introduced me to the other hybrids in the manor, they were very nice. I was allowed outside as long as she was looking after me. I felt like I belonged here, I considered this place
