Tenma's POV:

I woke up from the sound of my alarm clock, I turned it off and looked at the time, it was 6:00 am. I then realized its the first day at Raimon Jr. High, I'm so excited. I got ready for school, grabbed my duel disk and deck, and put it in my bag. Before I left my room, I looked at the photo and the deck on the desk and smiled. I went to the dining room and ate my breakfast. I then went to the front yard and went to Sasuke.

"Hey Sasuke," I said, he barked in response.

"I can't wait to duel with others," I added, he barks again in response and licked me.

"OK, I'll see you later, Sasuke," I said as I got up and ran.

"Bye Aki-nee!" I said while running.

"Have a good day," She replied.

I ran quickly while I waved at some people. While I was running, I saw some kids dueling on the grounds. When I arrived I stopped in front of the gates and looked at the school.

"I can believe I'm here, Raimon Jr. High. I can't wait to join the dueling club," I said in my thoughts and went in.

I arrived very early, so I decided to look around and try to find the club, then I found it, I was happy. 

"So this is the clubroom," I said in my thoughts.

While I was looking at the clubroom, I heard a voice from behind,

"Need something?" The person asked. I got startled that I swiftly looked behind me and a woman with red glasses and blue purplish hair.

"Did I startle you, sorry about that," she said.

"It's alright," I said with a smile, "is this the clubroom for the dueling club?"

"This is the old clubroom used as a relic," she replied, "it's not being used these days."

"I see, can you please show where the clubroom is now," I said.

"Sure, this way," she replied while signaling me to follow her.

After we walked for a few minutes, we finally arrived. 

"Here it is," she said. When I saw it, I was surprised. The place looked huge.

"C-clubroom, you mean this?!" I said.

"Rather than a clubroom, it's the duel building," she replied.

"Duel building?" I said, "then this entire building is for the dueling club?!" 

"Yup, that's right," she replied.

"This is, Raimon's dueling club!" I said.

"And I'm the dueling club's counselor, Otonashi Haruna," she said as I looked back at her. "So what were you looking to do here?"

"I'm a new student who wants to join the dueling club!" I replied.

"The dueling club?" she asked, "I see."

"Yes, ma'am!" I replied, "I hope I can join!" I added as I bowed., I then straighten up myself.

"My name is Matsukaze Tenma!" I said.

Third POV:

Coach Kudou, the coach of the dueling club was talking to chairman Kinzan and Fuyukai, suddenly a man burst through the door.

"There's trouble, we need you at the ground immediately!" he said,

"What's wrong?" principal Kinzan asked,

"The dueling club, something terrible happened to the dueling club," the man replied and ran off.

Coach Kudou then followed him and left the office.

Meanwhile with Tenma and Otonashi Sensei,

"So you want to join?" Otonashi asked, "but we haven't even had the induction ceremony yet, so what brings you here so early in the morning?"

"I wanted to get here before anyone else and take out my claim to join the club!" Tenma replied, he then looks at the building, "I don't want them telling me that they're full, after all." He added as he looked back at Otonashi Sensei.

"You really like dueling," she responded.

"Yes, I love it!" he replied. He then turns to the duel building.

"I've had my mind set on joining the dueling club once I got into Jr. high school," he added. "That's why I'm really happy I got into Raimon after admiring it for so long!"

"I see then," Otonashi said, "Okay, Matsukaze Tenma-Kun, was it? Good luck!"

Tenma then turns to Otonashi and said: "Thank you!"

"You're a bit like him," Otonashi said which made Tenma confused.

"When I look at you, I end up remembering someone I knew a long time ago," she said.

"Oh, that reminds me!" Tenma said, "is it alright if I watch the dueling club practice? are they doing any morning practice?"

"Let's see..." Otonashi said as she looked at a direction, "practice should be starting on the second grounds soon."

"I want to see it! Can I go watch?" Tenma said with excitement.

Meanwhile on the training grounds,

Some of the club members were laying on the ground while a boy with short grey hair with two red locks was dueling against a boy with short spiky navy blue hair.

Ichino's LP - 1200

Tsurugi's LP - 7000

Ichino was huffing slightly and trembling a little showing that he was having a hard time standing up.

"I attack your life points directly with Pitch-Dark Dragon Knight!" Tsurugi said, his monster then dashed towards Ichino and then the knight on the dragon slashed him with a sword. As the attack hit him, it felt a little real that he yelped.

His life points were reduced to zero and he fell to the ground. A manager ran to Ichino to check on him and help him get up.

"Ichino-Kun, are you alright?!" she asked.

"Yeah, I'm alright," he said and he tried to get up, but flinched slightly cause he was hurt.

Tenma and Otonashi Sensei arrived at the grounds.

"Here we are-" Otonashi said and stopped in shock in the sight.

"What's wrong?" Tenma asked and looked at what she was looking at, he was shocked.

"What's going on?" he said

When coach Kudou arrived and was shocked.

"What happened here?" coach Kudou asked as he ran to the grounds.

"heh, I took out Raimon's dueling club," Tsurugi said.

"Who are you and tell me what your class is?"

"Well, what do you know, since it's my first day here," Tsurugi replied.

"Alright, first year, what's your name?" coach Kudou asked.

"Heh, Tsurugi Kyousuke, so you must be coach Kudou," he responded.

"Kudou-san," Otonashi said as she ran to him with Tenma following from behind her.

"What do you think you doing, starting a fight here?" she said facing Tsurugi.

"Fight? heh, do I do any fighting here?" he said with looking over to Ichino.

"He didn't use his fists, while we were dueling his monster's attacks felt a little real," he said.

They were all shocked by what he said.

"He took us on one bye one and he beat us," one of the members said.

Tenma's POV

"No way," Otonashi Sensei said in shock.

"Anyways, from now on, the club is disbanding" a boy with short spiky navy blue hair said.

"Disbanding?!" I said in shock.

"You can't do that," Otonashi sensei said.

"Yes, I can,"  he said

"Do you have a grudge against dueling?" Otonashi sensei asked in anger.

"A grudge, heh," he replied.

"A grudge against dueling?" I said in my thoughts.

"Things like dueling is useless," he said as he summons a dark dragon," and a waste of time!" he added as the dragon roared. we backed away for a bit.

"Wait," I said, the others then looked at me.

"Dueling is... Dueling isn't a waste of time, dueling isn't a waste of time, and it is needed," I said without thinking.

"What?" he said.

"Uh, I-I," I said hesitating,

"Who are you?" he asked.

"I-I'm Matsukaze Tenma and I will be joining the dueling club today," I said. He laughed slightly and said,

"Too bad for you, as of right now, it's gone. Go join another club."

"No way, I won't let it get disband," I said.

"Can't let it? I see. Then show me what you know about your dueling," he said as his monster whips it's tail towards me that I yelped slightly, it sent me back and I fell, Otonashi sensei went to help me.

"Tenma-Kun are you alright?" she said, she then faced towards him and said, "what do you think you're doing?!"

"It ticks me off... When newbies like you talk about dueling like they know everything about it," he replied as his monster returned back into a card. I got stood back up and said,

"I do know, what dueling is like."

"Well then, if you are asking for a duel, well you can't if you don't have a deck and a duel disk," he said as he smirked.

"I do have one," I said as I reached into my bag and grabbed my duel disk with the deck already set, "right here," I added as I pulled it out. I saw some of the others surprised expression.

"Heh, looks like you got yourself a duel. Let's make a deal if you win the club won't be disbanded, but if you lose it'll be disbanded forever," he said as he smirked.

"Duel?" I asked.

"What's wrong? are you gonna take back your words?" he asked.

"No, I will duel" I replied

"Tenma-Kun!" Otonashi said to Tenma.

"Bring it on," Tsurugi said with a grin.

"Kudou, stop this please," Otonashi said while looking at the coach I'm guessing "Kudou?"

"If I reduce your life points to zero, I win?" I said.

"Heh, your right, but that won't be easy," he replied.

Suddenly, I heard two men walking behind me, I looked and saw them.

"Chairman Kinzan, Fuyukai-san, please stop this right now," Otonashi said.

"No, I will allow this duel," Kinzan-san said.

he then looks to me and asked, "what is your name?"

"I'm Matsukaze Tenma, sir," I replied.

"Matsukaze-Kun, the faith of the dueling club is in your hands now," he said, I was surprised by what he said. "Deal with it," he added as he smirked, I was then shocked.

"Huh, Fuyukai say something to him," she said. I saw him whisper something but I'm not sure what. After they were done, the chairman said.

"I will allow this duel."

"Heh, well then it's settled, you verses me, get ready," the boy said.

After we went to our positions, I put on my duel disk and it activates, it shuffles my deck and I drew five cards.

Tenma's LP: 8000

Tsurugi's LP: 8000

"Let's duel!" we both shouted and it started.

"I'll go first, I summon Dark Blade," he said as he placed the card on his duel disk, it then appears on the field, " I place a card facedown and end my turn."

"Alright then, I draw!" I replied as I drew a card.

I looked at my hand to see what I have.

Tenma's hand - Armed Dragon LV3, another Armed dragon LV3, Big Wind Dragon, Call of The Haunted, Armed Dragon LV5, and Dragon's bead.

"I summon Armed Dragon LV3," I shouted as I placed the card on my duel disk, it then appears on the field.

"I set two cards facedown and end my turn," I said as I put the trap card on the slot.

"Well then, my turn, I draw!" he said as he drew a card, he smirked and said, "I summon Armageddon Knight and activate his skill, I send a monster from my deck to my graveyard."

"Time to battle, I attack your Armed Dragon with Dark Blade!" he shouted, then Dark Blade went to my monster and slashed it, it dealt battle damage to me, I flinched slightly.

Tenma's LP: 7400

Tsurugi's LP: 8000

"I then attack your life points directly with Armageddon Knight!" he added. His monster then dashed towards me and slashed. I slightly yelped.

Tenma's LP: 6000

Tsurugi's LP: 8000

"I activate my trap card Call of the Haunted, to bring back my Armed Dragon LV3," I said and my trap card activated. My armed dragon level three then appears on the field.

"I place a face down and end my turn, your move," he said with a smirk.

"Alright, I draw!" I said as I drew a card and I got Blustering Winds.

Tenma's Hand - Armed Dragon LV3, Big Wind Dragon, Armed Dragon LV5, and Blustering Winds.

Standby Phase:

"I send my Armed Dragon LV to the graveyard to special summon Armed Dragon LV5!" I shouted and sent my monster to the graveyard, I then placed my Armed Dragon LV5 card on my duel disk to summon it on the field.

Main Phase:

"I activate my monster's effect, by sending a monster from my hand to the graveyard I can destroy one of your monsters that have fewer attack points than my monster, and I destroy your Dark blade," I said as my Armed Dragon LV5 charged.

"Not so fast, I activate my face down, Dark Illusion, to negate your monster's effect and destroy it," he said.

"I'm not sure about that, I activate my other facedown, Dragon bead. I Discard a card from my hand and negate your trap, that way my monster's effect continues and I can use this trap card once per turn," I said.

Chain 1.

Dark Illusion got negated and Armed Dragon LV5's ability destroys Dark Blade.

"I then activate a spell card, Blustering Winds, which gives my monster 1000 attack and defense points until my next standby phase," I said.

Armed Dragon LV5: 3400 ATK     2700 DEF

"Time to battle, I attack Armageddon Knight with my Armed Dragon LV5!" I added and my monster charges towards Armageddon Knight and punches it. It gets destroyed and dealt battle damage to him. I saw him flinch.

Tenma's LP - 6000

Tsurugi's LP - 6000

"I then activate my monsters' effect. During the End Phase of a turn that my monster destroyed your monster, as a result of battle. I can send this to the graveyard to special summon Armed Dragon LV7 from my hand or deck." I said. Armed Dragon LV5 disappeared and I drew Armed Dragon LV7 from my deck and I placed it on my duel disk. It then appeared on the field and roared.

"I end my turn," I added.

"Not bad, my turn, I draw!" he said as he drew a card, I then saw him smile.

"I activate my face down, call of the haunted, your not the only one with it," he said, "I then bring back Dark Knight from the graveyard." Dark Knight suddenly appears to the field.

"I then summon Pitch-Dark Dragon to the field," he added and placed the card on his duel disk. Suddenly Pitch-Dark Dragon appeared.

"I then use Polymerization and use Dark Knight and Pitch-Black Dragon to Fusion summon, Pitch-Dark Dragon Knight!" he shouted as I saw his two monsters combine, suddenly a flash of black light appeared.

I closed my eyes when I open them I was shocked by the monster. His monster roared at me.

"Its time to battle, I attack your Armed Dragon LV7 with Pitch-Dark Dragon Knight," he said. His monster then charged towards mine and the knight on his dragon slashed it. I flinched slightly.

Tenma's LP: 5800

Tsurugi's LP: 6400

"I end my turn," he said.

"Alright, I draw!" I said as I drew and I got Call of the Haunted.

Tenma's Hand - Call of The Haunted.

"I set a card and end my turn," I said as I placed my trap card in the slot.

"Well then, draw!" he said.

"I enter the battle phase, I attack you're life point's directly!" he said, his monster then charged towards me and the knight slashed me. I slightly screamed and almost lost my balance.

Tenma's LP: 2800

Tsurugi's LP: 6400

I struggled to stay put but I can't give up.

"I end my turn," he said while grinning.

"If I don't get something to help me, I'm a goner," I said in my thoughts, I closed my eyes, I then drew a card. I looked and saw what I got, I got Drowning Mirror Force.

"I set a card face down and end my turn," I said.

"Heh, time to end this. I draw," he said, "I activate the field spell, Mystic Plasma Zone, It increases all dark monster's attack by 500 but decreases the defense by 400," he added as the field suddenly changed. "We'll now battle, I attack your life points directly."

Pitch-Dark Dragon Knight:  3500 ATK     0 DEF

I smirked and said,

"Not today, I activate my trap card, Drowning Mirror Force."

Suddenly, a shield appeared around me. His monster hit it and it disappeared, it then went back to his deck.

"What just happened?" I heard someone asked.

"Drowning Mirror Force destroys all your attack positioned monster when you declare a direct attack, leaving you with no monsters on the field," I replied.

"I end my turn," he said.

"Here it goes, I draw!" I said as I drew a card, I got Influence Dragon, Tuner monster.

"I activate a second Call Of The Haunted on my field to bring back Armed Dragon LV5," I said as my monster appears on the field, "I then summon Influence Dragon to the field," I added and placed the card on my duel disk, it then appears on the field.

"I then tune my Armed Dragon LV5 with Influence Dragon to synchro summon, Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon!" I said as my monsters disappear and my synchro monster appears. It then roared.

Meanwhile, almost everyone watching on the bench was surprised by the dragon.

"I enter the battle phase, I attack you directly with Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon," I said as my dragon breath white fire from its mouth. He screamed slightly.

Tenma's LP: 2800

Tsurugi's LP: 3400

"I end my turn," I said.

"Very well, I draw!" he said.

"I set a monster and end my turn," he added.

"My turn, I draw!" I said and I got Delta Flyer.

"I summon Delta Flyer to my field," I said as I placed the card on my duel disk. It appears on the field.

"Let's battle, I attack your defense positioned card with Delta Flyer," I said as my Delta Flyer charges towards his face-down monster. I revealed the monster which it's the defense is 100 DEF lower than mine, but since his field spell decreases the defense of his dark monsters by 400, it's the defense is 1000. The monster is called Familiar Knight. My monster destroys it.

"I then attack your life points directly with Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon," I said, my monster the breath white fire from its mouth.

Tenma's LP: 2800

Tsurugi's LP: 400

"I end my turn," I added.

"I draw!" he said.

"I activate a spell from my hand, dark core. I discard a card from my hand to banish your synchro monster," he said. Suddenly my monster disappeared.

"I end my turn," he said.

"Very well then, my turn, I draw," I said and I drew Divine Wind of Mist Valley.

"I activate the field spell, Divine Wind Of Mist Valley!" I said as I placed the card on the field spell slot. The field then changed to half to half of the two field spells.

"I then change my Delta Flyer in defense position," I said and changed the position of my monster.

"I end my turn, " I said as I got ready for what's next.

"My turn, I draw!" He said as he draw a card

"I then summon Dark Crusader to the field and cause of my field spell, it gains 500 attack points," he added as he placed the card to his duel disk. It appears on the field.

Dark Crusader:  2100 ATK      0 DEF

"We'll now battle, I attack your Delta Flyer with Dark Crusader!" he said as Dark Crusader charges and slashes it.

Tenma's LP: 2800

Tsurugi's LP: 400

"I end my turn," he said.

"Here I go, I draw!" I said and I got Max Warrior.

"I summon Max Warrior to the field," I said as I placed the card on my duel disk.

"I enter the battle phase and attack your monster with Max Warrior and his ability activates, his attack points increase by 400," I said.

Max warrior: 2200 ATK      800 DEF

Max Warrior then slices Dark Crusader, destroying it.

Tenma's LP: 2800

Tsurugi's LP: 300

"Since my monster destroyed yours, my monster becomes a level 2 and it's original attack and defense becomes half until my next standby phase," I added, "and with that, I end my turn."

Max Warrior: 1100 ATK     400 DEF

"Very well, I draw!" he said, "I summon Dragard and it's attack points increase and defense points decrease.

Dragard: 1800 ATK     1500 DEF

"I enter battle phase to attack your Max Warrior with Dragard!" he said, his monster then dashes towards my monster and does a tail whip. I flinched slightly.

Tenma's LP: 2100

Tsurugi's LP: 300

"My turn, I draw!" I said and I got Shrink. "I set a card and end my turn."

"I think I will finish this duel, I draw!" he said as he drew a card. "I set a card face down, then go to the battle phase, Dragard end this." His monster dashes towards me ready to hit me.

"Not so fast, I activate a quick play spell on the field, Shrink. It halves the attack of your monster until the end phase.

Dragard: 900 ATK     1500 DEF

His monster whips its tail and hits me, I slightly flinched.

Tenma's LP: 1200

Tsurugi's LP: 300

"I end my turn," he said.

Dragard's attack returned to 1800.

"Alright, here it goes, draw!" I said as I drew a card from my deck. I got Golem Dragon.

"I set a monster in defense position," I said as I placed the card on my duel disk.

"I end my turn, your move," I said.

"Here it goes, draw!" he said.

"I set a monster," he said as he put the card on his duel disk.

"I enter the battle phase and attack your facedown monster," he said.

When my monster card flipped, my Golem Dragon appeared. His monster attacked it but the damage reflects and hits my opponent instead. He then flinches.

Tenma's LP: 1200

Tsurugi's LP: 100

"I end my turn," he said.

"Here it goes, I draw!" I said as I drew a card. I got Stamping Destruction, I smirked.

"It's time to end this duel," I said, "I activate a spell from my hand, Stamping Destruction. If I have a dragon monster on my field, I get to target I spell or trap on the field and destroy that card. I pick your field spell, Mystic Plasma Zone. And that's not all, if I destroy that target, I inflict 500 damage to the owner!"

The Mystic Plasma Zone card disappeared and the field turns to my field spell instead. Suddenly a dragon appeared and roared. It then hits the boy with navy blue hair. He slightly screamed.

Tenma's LP: 1200

Tsurugi's LP: 0

Third POV:

All the cards on the field disappear, the others watching were surprised by who won, It was Tenma. He was huffing slightly.

"Tenma, he reduced the life points of his opponent to zero, and since it turned to zero, Tenma won," Otonashi said happily, "The Raimon dueling club isn't disbanding."

"I get to duel here," Tenma said happily.

"Stop with the dueling," Tsurugi said as he summoned Dragard, "it pisses me off!" his dragon then started charging black fire from its mouth.

"Wait, that's not what you promised!" Otonashi said. But then the Dragard breathes fire out its mouth, aiming at Tenma. Tenma was shocked and didn't know what to do. Sure he can dodge, but the blast was very large that he won't have time.

In a distance, a boy wearing a purple and black duel disk on his arm placed a card on his duel disk.

Suddenly two cylinders appeared in front of Tenma, the first one has its opening facing the attack and one aiming at Tsurugi's monster. The fire went in the first one and shot out of the second one. The attack hit Tsurugi's monster and it disappeared along with the two cylinders. Tsurugi's monster returns to the card.

"What just happened?" one of the members asked.

"I recognize that card, it's-" Aoyama said.

"What do you think you're doing in the dueling grounds?" a boy with grayish-brown hair interrupted. They all looked at where the voice came from.

"Shindou-san," Otonashi said in a surprised tone.

"So you arrive," Tsurugi said while grinning.

"I'm the captain of the dueling club, Shindou Takuto," the boy with grayish-brown hair said.

"And these are," he added as other people wearing blue and yellow tracksuits with duel disk went beside him, "the Raimon eleven."
