You heard coughing and panicked. You were a servant of Okita Souji and you had a crush on him. A huge crush. You ran into Okita's room. He waslaying on his 'bed' coughing like mad. You rushed over. 

"Okita-san!" You shouted running over to him. 

"(L/N)-san. What are you doing here?" He asked between coughs. 

"I-I heard coughing and I got worried." You spoke as you blushed. He chuckled slightly as his coughing stopped. He noticed your red cheeks. 

"You look beautiful when you blush." He whispered in your ear. You felt your cheeks warm up more. His hand reached your cheek brushing the hair out your face. You looked down as he pulled his hand away. 

"(L/N)-san. I want to tell you something." You looked up at him with curiosity in your (E/C) eyes. "I'm in love with you. But I think I may die soon." Happiness overtook the curiosity in your eyes. You hugged him. He was surprised with your actions but he wrapped his arms around you. But the second part of his sentence hit you like a ton of bricks. You tightened you grip on him as you let the tears fall. "Why are you crying (L/N)-san?" Okita asked as he pulled away from the hug, looking in your eyes. 

"I-I don't w-want you t-to die." You sobbed. He held you close again, kissing the top of your head. 

"I don't want to die either. But I can't stop fate." You sobbed into his chest. He rubbed your back, comforting you. Your sobbing stopped. You stayed in his arms for what felt like hours. You made silly conversations. You laughed with him. When he coughed you would get him water, or whatever he needed. It started to become dark. And you knew it was time for you to leave Okita to sleep. 

"Goodbye Okita-kun." You said bowing. 

"(Y/N)?" You looked up. He never called you by your first name. "Be here by dawn. I want to spend every last day with you." You blushed and just nodded before leaving the room. You could have sworn he said "I love you." Before you left. You smiled to yourself as you walked back to the servants quarters. A small smile on your face.
