026. WWE Raw's Netflix Era
Chapter Twenty-Six, WWE Raw's Netflix Era
Inari sat ringside beside her son, Leo, watching with a mix of pride and excitement as WWE Raw's Netflix era kicked off in spectacular fashion. The arena was alive with energy, but for Inari, the night would be defined by more than just the action in the ring—it would be a celebration of her family's strength and the undeniable bond between them.
From the very beginning, the night felt historic. The show opened with a stunning video package, setting the stage for what was to come. The message from Paul Levesquewas brief but meaningful, hinting at the transformative future of WWE under Netflix's watchful eye.
But it was Dwayne—who captured the crowd's attention, stepping into the ring amidst roaring applause.
Dwayne opened the show with his signature charisma, addressing the audience and Netflix executives with a mixture of humor and gratitude. He made sure to acknowledge the debut of WWE Raw's Netflix era and even brought up the massive global success of "Squid Game," alluding to how the streaming platform's reach was opening up new avenues for wrestling.
He also took a moment to thank Cody Rhodes, nodding to the younger star for helping to carry WWE on his back. His speech was both heartfelt and strategic, paying homage to both the past and future of the company. As Dwayne acknowledged his cousin, Joe, who would be stepping into the ring later that night, Inari felt a surge of pride—this was the moment she had been waiting for.
The opening match was one for the history books, an all-out brawl between Joe and Sefa in a brutal "Tribal Combat" match, with the ula fala—an ancient symbol of leadership in their family—on the line. The match was as chaotic as anyone could have predicted. With no disqualifications, Joe and Sefa utilized everything from chairs to ring steps, commentary desks, and even tables to gain the upper hand. But it wasn't just the two men involved in the combat; the Bloodline, Sefa's supporters, played their part in throwing curveballs at Joe throughout the contest.
Inari's eyes were locked on her husband as the chaos unfolded. Her heart raced as Sefa, flanked by his Bloodline and Kevin Owens, tried to take down Joe. Yet, it was Joe's supporters who proved to be the decisive factor.
Jon, Rami, and Cody Rhodes came to Joe's aid, evening the odds and allowing Joe to secure the victory.
When Joe finally stood victorious, Dwayne entered the ring, presenting Joe with the ula fala in a moment that seemed to pause time. Inari's heart swelled as she saw her husband lift the sacred symbol of leadership.
She couldn't hold back the tears as Joe raised his eyes to the sky, silently honoring his father with a whispered "I love you." Inari knew in that moment that this victory was not just for Joe—it was for his family, for his legacy.
Leo, who had been watching intently from the ringside seats, turned to his mother. "Let's get backstage, so we can cheer him up," Leo told his mom.
They made it backstage just as Joe was about to enter his private locker room. "You did good, Dad," he said, offering his own form of praise. Inari smiled at her son's sincerity, feeling a deep sense of connection to both her husband and their son.
"You think so?" Joe asked, a hint of self-doubt creeping into his voice, even after the win. But Leo was quick to reassure him.
"Grade: A," Leo said, his tone light but confident.
Inari chimed in with a playful tone. "Babe, it was a great match, you and the guys always put on a damn good show for these ungrateful fools." It was a comment that earned a laugh from the group, including Jon, who had just entered the room with his fellow family members.
"Where's my incubator carrying my Godbabies?" Trinity asked, walking into the locker room, her arms outstretched as if she were searching for Inari's growing belly.
The two women shared a laugh, the playful atmosphere in the room a stark contrast to the intensity of the match they had just witnessed.
Inari rolled her eyes with a mock pout. "I knew I should have waited until after I had the babies to tell you were the Godmother because you keep acting up, Trin," she joked, her tone laced with affectionate teasing.
Jon chuckled in the background. "She's just excited," he said with a shrug.
Trinity, always a woman of action, quickly turned her focus to Inari's belly. "Are my babies safe in there? Do you need anything?"
"They are fine, kicking up a storm though," Inari answered, though she winced slightly as one of the twins kicked particularly hard. Carrying twins was no small feat, especially when they were as active as hers.
Trinity's hand rested lightly on Inari's belly, a calm expression on her face. But just as she spoke, Inari felt another kick. "Ouch!" Trinity exclaimed, pulling her hand away in surprise.
Leo shook his head, an amused smirk on his face. "You should see the bruise they leave behind after they finish kicking," he said, his voice filled with mild disbelief. He had seen his mother go through the trials of pregnancy before, but it never ceased to amaze him just how much force those little feet could exert.
Joe, ever the protective husband, looked over at Inari. "You have bruises?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.
Inari groaned but waved off the worry. "It's nothing to worry about," she said dismissively, though it was clear to Joe that she wasn't being entirely truthful.
Joe, however, was not easily placated. "Why didn't you tell me?" he asked, lifting her shirt gently to reveal a light red bruise forming where the babies had kicked her.
Inari sighed, knowing there was no escaping Joe's concern. "What would you be able to do about it?" she asked, though she knew the real answer—it wasn't about what Joe could do. It was about him being there for her, something she knew he would always do without question.
Jon, ever the source of light-hearted jokes, piped up from the back of the room. "Not you being Bella from Twilight," he quipped, causing everyone in the room to burst into laughter. The joke, while silly, lightened the mood and reminded everyone of how much they cherished each other.
The moment was interrupted by a knock on the door. Joshua entered, his usual charisma filling the room as he greeted everyone with a smile. His presence was soon followed by Nicole, who Inari hadn't seen in quite some time. Nicole had been through a lot lately, particularly after her divorce from Artem, but she seemed to be in good spirits as she hugged Inari tightly.
"I missed you," Inari said, pulling away from the hug. "You look good."
Nicole smiled warmly. "I feel good, I'm glad to be here. You did amazing, Joe and Josh, I know you're going to kill it tonight."
The conversation quickly shifted to lighthearted jokes, with everyone offering praise and making sure to lift each other's spirits. After a few minutes, everyone made their way to do their respective duties or in search of food in catering, leaving Inari and Joe alone in the locker room once more.
As the evening wore on, Inari couldn't help but feel the weight of the night's events. Joe had just fought through a chaotic match to claim victory, and yet here he was, focused entirely on her. It was in moments like these that she realized how lucky she was.
"You should have told me about the bruises," Joe said softly as he massaged Inari's feet, a rare moment of vulnerability for the man who was known for his tough exterior.
"I know, I'm sorry," Inari replied, her voice tinged with guilt. "But I didn't want you worrying about it."
Joe sighed, a deep breath that seemed to carry all the weight of their shared life. "That's my job, Inari. I'm your husband. I'm supposed to know about everything that's going on with you."
Inari nodded, understanding the deeper sentiment behind his words. "Okay," she said, accepting his care with open arms.
The couple then took a moment to call their nanny and check in on their children before settling in to watch Joshua's match against Drew on the monitor.
Joshua's entrance was nothing short of spectacular. With Travis Scott by his side, the duo walked down the Intuitive Dome steps, engaging the crowd with high energy and excitement. The new official song for Monday Night Raw blared through the arena, and Joshua fed off the crowd's hype, feeding his own adrenaline as he took on Drew.
The match was a back-and-forth affair, with Drew initially taking control. However, Joshua was not to be underestimated. After a Future Shock DDT, Drew looked poised to finish the match, but Joshua kicked out, turning the tide in his favor. He hit a spear for a close two-count, only for Drew to come back with a Claymore—yet, it wasn't enough to secure the win.
In a surprising turn, Joshua collapsed before Drew could land another Claymore, only to suckered Drew into a crucifix pin and steal the victory.
The crowd erupted in cheers as Joshua's hand was raised, but the night wasn't over yet.
Hulk Hogan came out to greet the audience, though the reception wasn't as warm as he might have expected. The crowd's booing was unmistakable, and it was clear that Hogan's appearance wouldn't be the triumphant moment he had hoped for.
The show closed with the long-awaited confrontation between Phil and Colby, two men whose issues had been building for months. Their match was less about wrestling technique and more about a brutal, no-holds-barred fight. Strikes were exchanged in brutal fashion, with both men throwing caution to the wind. Phil narrowly escaped with the win, but it was evident that his problems with Colby were far from over.
As the show concluded, Paul Heyman appeared backstage to usher Joe off to the press conference. Inari watched from the locker room monitor, amused as Joe, clearly uninterested in the questions being asked, barely offered more than the bare minimum in his responses. She chuckled at his unintentional humor, knowing his thoughts were already with her.
When Joe finally returned to the locker room, they made their way out of the arena, heading toward Joe's tour bus. The family was tired but happy, and the connection they shared was noticeable.
"Y'all hungry?" Joshua asked, a smile on his face as he walked alongside his family.
"Waffle House!" Sefa and Jon exclaimed in unison, their voices filled with anticipation.
It had been a night of chaos, triumph, and unforgettable memories—but for Inari and her family, it was just another day in their extraordinary lives.
