PREVIOUSLY IN EPILOGUE

I woke up. No. Fucking. Way. It. Was. A. Dream?!?!?!!?!?!?! I sat up and looked around. I saw the sun peeking in through my window, letting light streams of light into my room. That was almost too real to be a dream. I even saw it in different peoples points of view! Maybe it was just a vision from the future.

I am a sorcerer after all.

There is no way that entire thing was a dream. Its impossible! I went into my kitchen and warmed up a frozen meal. Was it just a dream? Was it a vision? It had to have been a vision. Now the question is, was it the present or the future, or still just a dream? The microwave beeped, signalling me that my food was done. I took my food out and began eating. I eat and think. I think about what that dream or vision was. I can't just forget about it. I try to think about other things, but my mind always wanders back to it.

I shake my head and walk outside to get the newspaper. I pick it up to look at the front page and my jaw drops. Its that girl that died in my vision! It said BREAKING NEWS as the headline, which meant that it was, in fact, some tense of vision, and that it had to have happened today. What time even is it? I run back inside. I look at the clock on my oven and it reads 1:42 pm. So most of it was in the past and that last part had been the present and/or future? I sit back down and stare at the paper. Everything I read had been what the news person said in the vision on the TV.

I was about to go online to find out more when I felt something click in my mind. I closed my eyes as a vision appeared in my brain.

It's practically mid-day. The sun is slightly to the west. A girl, kneeling alone next to a body and shaking its shoulders. I know this place. It's not too far from here. The body is of the girl that had died in my previous vision; Jean I remember. This young girl looked no older than twelve, though it was hard to tell. I watched as she passed out, police came and found the her and the body, and they took the child away, her lying motionless in their arms.

I opened my eyes, wide with a realization. If this is anything like that first vision I had seen, then that girl got Jean's powers because she touched her first. This vision was considerably shorter than my last though, and I have no idea why.

My mind was racing. So many questions were swirling into my head. Questions like: Why was my first vision so detailed, so long, and while I slept? Why was this one about the girl and Jean so short and while I was awake? I've had visions before, but none that seemed so important as these. Why are these two so important? Was something bad going to happen? Why couldn't I have a vision about that? Questions and thoughts kept rushing through my mind until I settled on one to focus on.

I have to prevent this kid from being taken away.

This most recent vision was obviously the past, or there wouldn't be newspapers out about her out now. I run into my room and enter the trap door I have underneath my bed. I speed down the spiral staircase as I enter my potion warehouse. I go to my lab and find a large book that has all my potion recipes in it. I need to find the one that, when splashed, can turn back time by sixty minutes. It may not seem like much, but it is very powerful. I find the recipe and rush to my ingredients room. When I have everything, I throw it all in a large cauldron in my "kitchen" and let it boil for three minutes. I take out a glass bottle and quickly dunk it in the pot with the scolding hot potion, and without waiting to put a cap on it or anything, I smash it on the ground next to my feet. I hear the glass shatter before I blink and am back in my bed. Only the people it is splashed on will remember anything that was reset. I sit up and remember the scenery of where I saw the child. The trail in the hills.

I rush back down to my lab, and whip up three ten-minute long invisibility potions. I drink one now, grab a bag of other potions I have pre-made, drink a speed potion, and run out of my secluded house to the trails I drive by whenever I'm on my way to town. I get to the hills see a cloud of dust form in the sky, and a loud crash sound to follow. I continue running, at a faster pace now, and make it to the top of a hill, looking down on where the crater from both of my visions had been created. I see the girl run up to the body and, like the second vision, shake it, trying to wake it up. I crouch down. I watch the girl try to stand up, but fall back to her knees. Far away, in the distance, I see police cars start to arrive. I decide to run up to the girl now. It was right on time too, because she was about to fall backwards, but I caught her before her head hit the ground. I feed her one of my invisibility potions, and give myself the other, as mine was about to run out. I carefully picked up the girl and laid her head on my shoulder. I splashed a second swiftness potion on my feet, and ran back home as the police were coming over the hill to the crater.

When I had arrived home, I lied the child on my bed. Looking at her closer, she looked about twelve or thirteen years of age. She had long, orange hair that seemed to go down about half way down her back. Her face and hands were dirty, her clothes were torn, and her hair was knotted. I'm assuming she is homeless. I go into my bathroom and wet a washcloth. I bring it back out to her and wipe her face and hands clean, then throw the dirty washcloth in the laundry bin. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle. When I made my way back to my room, the girl was sitting up, holding her head. She saw me and her breathing got audibly quicker. "It's okay, I'm only helping you." I walked up to her slowly and handed her the water bottle. She took it cautiously and took large gulps of it, not setting it down until it was empty. "What's your name, kid?" I asked her. She let go of her head and faced her body around to me.

"My name is Keeley. What's yours?"

"My name is Seto. Nice to meet you." I gave her a friendly smile, which she returned.
