*The Next Day*

(F/n)'s POV

Today was our first expedition. I was on my horse, to the right of Eren. I saw him look to his left. "What are you looking at?" I asked him. He quickly glanced at me and looked back to his left.

I leaned forward a bit so I could see past him, two little kids were watching us in awe. I grinned a little at the sight and looked back to the front.

"Awesome! It's the Scouts!" I heard the little girl exclaim. "See that symbol? They call it the Wings Of Freedom!" The little boy replied. "So cool!" The little girl smiled.

'I remember when I was their age, always dreaming about joining the Scouts.' I was a little nervous about the expedition today. It's my first time outside of the walls!

*Flashback*

"And what do you want to do when you're older, (f/n)?" My dad asked me. "I want to join the Scout Regiment like you!" I exclaimed.

He chuckled and ruffled my hair, "You want to explore beyond the walls and slay Titans?" He asked. "Yeah!" I smiled.

*End Of Flashback*

"Hey, are you ok?" I heard Eren ask. "Huh? Oh yeah! I'm fine." I quickly answered, and he shrugged. I looked up and saw the gate slowly opening. 'This is it, (f/n). Your dreams are actually happening!'

The gates were at they're highest point, "FORWARD!" Commander Erwin shouted. I gulped, and snapped the reins on my horse. We dashed out of the gates, "IT'S OFFICIALLY BEGUN, THE 57th RECON MISSION! SCOUTS, MOVE OUT!" Commander Erwin shouted again.

It was time for us to separate, I got paired up with Armin. He seemed a little on edge, "Is something wrong?" I asked him. "N-no.." He said, but got cut off by a black smoke signal.

"An abnormal?!" Armin shouted. A few minutes passed and the Titan was taken down. "Way to go! Nicely done, Ness!" Armin exclaimed.

Armin's smile was wiped away when there was another abnormal spotted. He quickly shot a black flare. "It's moving so fast, too fast!" Armin said. "We have to keep it clear of Arlert and (l/n)!" Ness shouted.

But after he finished his sentence, he was thrown to the ground by the Titan. Killed instantly. "Armin, we have to go!" I shouted. Armin nodded and we snapped our reins to get away from the fourteen meter Titan.

"We're not dealing with an abnormal, this one's showing intelligence! Like the colossal..like Eren. It's a human being wrapped in a Titan body! But who? Why? What are we gonna do?! We're dead! We're so dead!" Armin shouted.

"What?!" I shouted back, but the Titan was right on our tail now. There was a large shadow going over us. We both looked up to see the Titan getting ready to jump on us.

My eyes widened with fear as the Titan's foot was about to crush us. "ARMIN LOOK OUT!" I shouted just as the Titan landed in front of us. From all of the pressure when it landed, it sent us flying off our horses.

I fell off backwards, landing on my side and rolling a little. After I came to a stop I felt my face, I brought my hand back down and saw blood on my fingers. 'Ugh, stupid cut.' I thought as I looked up to se if Armin was ok.

"Shit, ARMIN BEHIND YOU!" I shouted, seeing the Titan about to grab him. I gasped when I saw the Titan lift up his hood and look at his face. 'What the hell is that Titan doing?!'

It let go of Armin, and got up running away. "This doesn't make any sense, why didn't it..why didn't it kill me? It pulled back my hood..why would it need to check my face?" Armin mumbled to himself.

"Armin! (F/n)!" We both turned to see who's voice it was. "Reiner!" Armin exclaimed. "Can you ride? What the hell are you two doing, this is full blown Titan country. You can't be without horses. Climb on!" Reiner said.

He brought a spare horse, which Armin got on the back and I got on the front. "I came as fast as I could when I saw the black smoke. Nice ass for an abnormal you got to admit." Reiner smirked.

"Oh shut the fuck up Reiner!" I rolled my eyes. "It's not an abnormal, it's a person controlling a Titan body." Armin said. "Wait, what?!" Reiner raised an eyebrow.

"I'll explain in a second, we need to fire off a signal to warn the others. Come on, work you piece of garbage! It's an emergency!" Armin replied.

We heard a signal go off behind us, "Hey it's alright. Looks like Jean's got you covered." Reiner said. "Oh man, that's not good. The right wing spotters have suffered too many causalities to carry on." Reiner added.

Jean rode up to my left, "Oh hey cyclops. Thought you'd be dead by now." Jean rolled his eyes. "Ok, I think everybody needs to shut the fuck up today! Except you Armin, you're fine." I frowned.

"Yeah well apparently most of them were wiped out by a Titan ambush. I don't know how it happened, but it was bad. Said the bitches were lightning fast. The spotters didn't have time to react, whoever's left is trying to hold them off. But that means now there's no one on look out duty. Talk about a set back right? If we don't watch ourselves we're all going to get blanked out." Jean said finally letting go of the argument between us.

I stopped listening to them, they were boring me with all this 'Titan talk'. "Pull your hood all the way over so it covers you. She won't try to kill you if she can't see your face, if she's looking for someone specific she won't blow us down unless she knows for sure we're not them." Armin said.

I followed his idea, and pulled my hood up. "Good idea, as far as she knows any one of us can be Eren underneath this get up. That's actually kind of an encouraging thought. Hey you never know, maybe we'll get lucky and she'll be near-sighted." Reiner smirked.

"Not gonna lie, the way you clung to Eren like a security blanket all the time used to creep me out. But I always knew you were brilliant." Jean said, pulling his hood up. "Ok..? Thank you. Not exactly sure how to take that, but thanks." Armin replied.

We all rode closer to the female Titan, she seemed to be running a little slower than before. Jean jumped off his horse, shooting his 3DMG at her ankle.

She knocked off his anchor from her ankle. The last thing I saw was her arm swinging towards us, and Armin screaming.

3rd Person POV

The female Titan slapped (f/n) and Armin's horse, sending them off on to the ground. Armin's 3DMG fell off of him while he rolled in the grass. (F/n) rolled as well, face down in the grass.

"Armin, (f/n)!" Jean shouted, as he shot his anchor towards the female Titan's back. Jean's plan backfired as the female Titan almost grabbed him but stopped.

Reiner was heading for her nape now. But before he could get to her neck, she grabbed him in mid-air. She put her thumb over his head, pressing against it until his head would pop.

Then out of nowhere, Reiner escapes her grasp. He used his 3DMG and got back on the ground, running towards Armin. He scooped Armin up and started running away. "Wait, Reiner! What about (f/n)?!" Armin shouted.

Reiner quickly turned his head, scanning the area for her. Finally he saw her, face first in the grass not moving. "She's dead Armin, we need to get out of here!" Reiner shouted.

"Reiner, I'm pretty sure dead people don't move!" Jean called out to him, from the distance. Reiner looked over his shoulder and saw (f/n) sitting up.

Once she was standing up, she started running back towards them. "You trying to get rid of me?" She asked as soon as she caught up with Reiner.

"No, I thought you were dead!" He shouted. "I can't die that easily, and I never will die that easily." (F/n) replied. "Whatever, but your face got pretty fucked up." Reiner rolled his eyes.

"Can't be as fucked up as Jean's." She shrugged. "HEY!" Jean shouted, offended.

(F/n)'s POV

Jean was standing on a rock, whistling for his horse. Reiner was fixing up Armin's head, while I sat on the grass on lookout.

"One of us is going to have to stay here, we need to figure out who." I heard Reiner say. It caught everyone's attention, and we all looked at him confused.

"Wait a sec, I mean shouldn't we at least fire off a smoke signal first? If everyone kept going straight; row four squad three has got to be in close proximity to us by now." Armin spoke up.

Jean shot a purple smoke flare, "Well that's the emergency signal, but who knows. I doubt anyone's going to see it and think; hey somebody must need an extra horse." Jean said walking away.

"Armin, we only wait three minutes. If no one shows we have to decide who stays." Reiner said. "It should be me. But if I'm going to be left out here in the open, I need you to relay a message. If possible give it only to commander Erwin." Armin said.

I looked at him in shock and disbelief, 'Why would Armin want to stay out here?! He wouldn't even survive ten minutes! Er-no offense Armin. But it should be me.'

"Hang on, Armin. Looks like you'll be able to tell him yourself. Somebody answered the call! Hell yes, they've got two horses in tow!" Jean exclaimed, looking to see who was coming.

"Whoa, that's...it's Krista!" Jean added. "Hey guys, you alright?" She asked, riding towards us. "Well damn, that's my little run away! Ha ha, easy fudge ball! It's ok I forgive you." Jean chuckled.

"Poor thing, he ran to me like the devil was on his tail. So did you guys find a Titan? Oh no, Armin your head! You've been hurt." Krista said. "It's nothing, I promise." Armin replied. "I'm impressed someone actually answered our distress signal." Said Reiner.

"Well I wasn't far away so, that and I found the horse." Krista smiled. "A lot of people wouldn't have risked the trip over here. You're as noble as the steeds you tame. We're all on your debt." Reiner smiled back.

"It was nothing, I'm just...I'm just glad you're all ok. What would we do without you?" Krista started to cry a bit. I looked over and noticed all of the boys staring at Krista.

"Oi, stop staring! You three look like a bunch of assholes!" I shouted, Jean and Reiner both looked at me with a glare. Armin looked down at the ground, "Sorry." He quietly said.

Armin and I shared a horse again, since we were still one short. We saw green smoke as we were trying to get back into formation. Armin shot a green flare as well.

*Somewhere outside the walls*

3rd Person POV

"Smoke signals, green, Oluo pass it on." Levi commanded. "With pleasure, sir." Oluo replied, he got out his flare gun and shot a green signal into the sky.

"Reporting, sir! An oral message; it appears the right wing spotters have been wiped out! The early warning network is comprised. One of you will need to relay the message down the line!" A cadet told Levi.

"You heard the man, Petra. Go on!" Levi commanded Petra. "Sir!" She replied, riding off to pass the message. 'The right wing? That's where Armin and (f/n)'s positioned! Still, they were in the out outliers. Them and the others were more toward the center. Surely the Titans haven't made it that far in.' Eren thought.

"Black smoke?!" Eren questioned, as he saw three black smoke signals. "An abnormal!" He added. "Eren, fire the signal!" Levi ordered. "Yes sir!" Eren replied, shooting a signal.

Still not much of Mr. Clean though sorry..BUT DON'T HURT MEH!

I'll try to add a little more of Senpai in the next chapter or the one after that. Whenever this expedition ends!

I also wanted to tell you guys that I have a lot of things planned for this book! *smiles evilly, and rubs hands together*
