Chapter Six. Sharing And Caring.
-Dean-
The walk home to me doesn't take so long, five minutes maybe. While walking I can't help but notice that Cas seems distracted. He looks ...troubbled?
We get to my house and luckily Dad's out grocery shopping while Sam is with Gabriel, forcing him to watch Doctor Who. Mom's home but we succeed in sneaking past her without her noticing. We hide in my room. I don't really know what to do next.
"Wanna play Minecraft" (Minecraft's awesome, okay.) I ask and he nods. I give him an xbox console and turns on my tv.
-A while later because the author doesn't have any imagination-
"Cas you do know that there is a Zombie killing you right now?"
I can hear steps outside my door before it opens.
"Dean do you want any-..." My mom starts before seeing the other boy in my room. I have made the misstake of describing Cas in detail for her so of course she knows who it is. "Hi, my name is Mary, you must me Castiel." Mom gives him a bright smile. Then she gives me a quick look as if asking 'have you told him yet?'. I just avoid looking her in the eyes.
"Yes, that's me." Cas vawes awkwardly and shyly smiles back.
"I was just going to ask Dean if he wants to have any lunch. Do you want to eat here Castiel?" Cas shakes his head.
"I have to be home before lunch." I don't know why but he seems to sink into thoughts. Mom tells me that it's lunch in an hour before leaving us alone. When the door closes and I'm sure she isn't outside my room I paus the game and turns to Cas.
"Are you alright, you seem distracted?"
-Castiel-
I debate with myself for a minute whether I should tell him what's bothering me or not. I decide that I can tell him. At least parts of it. I sigh and run a hand through my hair.
"I had dreams last night..." I silently say. When I look up Dean's green eyes meets mine. He's staring at me. I think he realises that he's staring because he looks away.
"W-Who did you dream about?" He asks, not really meeting my eyes.
"Why should I tell you who my soulmate is if you won't tell me who your soulmate is?" I say but in reality I'm just scared to tell him. If I was in his dreams he would have told me, right? He should have. A voice in my head answers me that Dean might be waiting for me to tell him who my soulmate i ns.
"But it's not just that ...I can't tell my parents." I put my face in my hands. Why does my life has to be so complicated?
"Why can't you tell them?" He sounds genuinely confused.
"Because they are very, and I mean very, religious and when my brother, Lucifer, told them that he was meant to be with another boy my parents kicked him out and he was also 14 and if I tell them my soulmate is a boy they will kick me out too." I can hear that I'm rambling so I shut up.
"You dream about a boy too?" Wait, that's what he picks out from all of that?
"Yes."
"Wait. How can your parents kick you out? They can't do that? They wouldn't." Dean sounds angry.
"Yes they would and they have already trown Lucifer out so why not me?" I reply sadly and Dean doesn't seem to have a good answer becayse he stays silent. We both sit in silence until he speaks up again.
"If they find out and kicks you out you can stay here, I am sure my parents wouldn't mind." Dean un pauses the game and kills a couple of monsters before the sun rises.
"Thanks." After getting it off my chest I feel a lot better. We sit and play and talk, I occasionally steal glances of him, until I have to go home. It's something about talking to Dean, it makes the weight of my problems feel smaller from sharing them with him and I think that it must be a soulmate thing, you're soulmate never fails to make you feel better.
*insert evil laugh* I will strech out as long as possible before letting them admit it to each other. Sorrynotsorry. *smiles innocently*
