Epilogue

To my dearest friend,

How thrilled I was on receiving your news, I cannot convey in words written in this letter. You will have to wait for proper congratulations, till we reach my parents house come Christmas.

We are well, I thank you. The Doctor extends his happy best wishes to yourself as well as Mr. Smith.

These past months have been fantastic, the things I have seen, to numerous and fantastical almost to describe. Yet on my return I hope to be able to include you in a secret that will undoubtedly alter your life as it has done mine. It will make our correspondence so much easier, at the moment I cannot tell you more. Please be satisfied for now with the knowledge I include in this note.

You will find a letter included to my mother and father, I pray you are so kind as to hand it over without disclosing what you will already know by the end of the letter. And be so kind as to console my mother should her nerves overpower her constitution. I assure you the Doctor takes the best of care of me, he will scarcely allow me to run any more since we found out the news. My mother will probably advise me not to travel, but do not be alarmed, our conveyance will be most comfortable. Only the last part we will travel by post, as not to alarm everyone. Don't trouble your mind, you will understand soon enough.

I will bring you back a souvenir as you requested, I already have it in my possession and I am confident you will be exhilarated. My word, I wish it could be Christmas tomorrow and believe me, the Doctor would make it possible, were it not for my condition and certain insurmountable difficulties that would arise, were Christmas indeed to be tomorrow. But I fear this becomes to vague.

Forgive me for the shortness of the letter, the next one will be longer, you have my word. However adventure awaits, we are expected somewhere unpronounceable, if only you could see my attire, you will laugh to be sure.

I give you all my love, my dear Martha, and I expect a full report on all your preparations. We will attend, do not be anxious, we would not miss it for the world.

Yours affectionately,

Rose
