11. Like a perfect couple in a perfect atmosphere

"Courage does not always roar. Sometimes is a quiet voice at the end of the day, saying we will try again tomorrow"

Moscow, Russia.

"Back to the capital city, finally!," Akane exclaimed in joy.

"Yes, and this place is so beautiful," Agnes said smiling and looking around.

They were in a place called the "Red Square" now. It was huge venue, with buildings towering above their heads. There were people all around, walking with cups of hot coffees, in their winter attires. Most of the buildings there had pointed tops, and were beautiful in colour- red, yellowish white, blue. The sky above was a mixture of sea blue, majestic white and cherry red. To the north of the square were the Kremlin Towers, and to the south, the doomed Saint Basil's Cathedral.

"The red square is the official residence of the Russian president," the guide informed. "All the buildings here, actually, are significant in their own way.."

They nodded, looking around.  The guide told them about how the Red Square separated the Kremlin from the main cathedral.

"I know the Russian president," Agnes smiled.

"Really?," Takumi asked.

"Mhm. I went to him with dad once for some deal I guess"

"Wow"

"And you what? I'll go meet him now too," she said, walking towards the Kremlin.

"Whoa, whoa, slow Ms. Fotaine," Jason said, holding her hand. She turned.

"You cannot meet him. He's the president. They were going to throw you out at the entry. It always better to avoid embarrassment,", Jason shook his head.

She eyed him. His black shirt with a impressively straight collar, his dark blue jeans, his dark brown eyes , his soft hair, his perfectly straight shoulders. Why am I drooling?

"Doesn't matter, Mr. Lecturer. I'm going anyway"

"You can't! There'll be a commotion there"

She shrugged. "My father owns the Fotaine industries. It's all over the world! Even the president uses it's products," she waved her hand dismissively  and walked forward.

There was no way to stop her now. Because it's Agnes Fotaine. And when she decides something, she gets it done.

"Jason, I know what you can do," Takumi whispered to him. Akane eyed him quizzically. Takumi whispered something into Jason's ear. He shook his head. Takumi nodded.

"Go, Jason"

Akane knew his brother was up to some mischief. Jason suddenly smiled. He went towards Agnes.

And then, the whole of the Russian crowd was forced to look at the both of them. Because then, Jason picked her up in his arms. She was baffled and looked at him with her eyes dilated.

Akane and Takumi were smiling. And as Jason walked through the Red Square, with Agnes in his arms, it looked like a movie. A movie in which he was the perfect hero and she is perfect woman, like perfect couple, in a perfect atmosphere.

"Because I love you more than there are stars in the sky and fish in the sea," Jason said, reading the last quote of Agnes' book. He scanned the page for one last time before closing it and eventually looked at her.

Agnes' eyes looked nervous, as if waiting for the results after an examination.

"Agnes, you can breathe now," he laughed.

She realised she had been holding her breath for a long time. She let out. "So?"

"It was beautiful, as usual," he said. "I don't know how you do this"

"Writing is my passion. And it wasn't that good," she said, modesty dripping from each of her words.

"Oh it was. You know it," he said. Then he dug his hand in his coat's pocket and gave her a white flower.

"Thank you,"she said, accepting it and smiling.

"The protagonist was you, wasn't she? She had most of your qualities,"he said, confidently.

Agnes grinned. "She could me. And then again, maybe not. Perhaps she was me as a whole. I told you, Mr. Marbles, writers are deceptive"

And with that, she went for the bus.

"This looks like a flame.. A burning flame on bonfire reaching into the sky," Agnes said. "And it's beautiful"

"Yes. Saint Basil's Cathedral is officially known as the Cathedral of the Intercession of the most holy Theotokos on the Moat," the guide said.

"Firstly, I don't even know what that means. And secondly, it would take me centuries to learn that name," Takumi whispered. They laughed.

"It was built from 1556-1561 on orders from Ivan the Terrible," the guide continued.

Saint Basil's cathedral was mind-boggling. It was very beautiful and one would keep looking at the serenity of the place. It contained nine churches on the same foundation. Hence, it is occasionally used for periodic services by the Russian Orthodox church.

Most of the interiors of the component churches of the cathedral were painted brick red with white seams limned to resemble the mortar. The primary entrance to the church ensemble was the west church.

"This entrance is dedicated to the entry of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. The west church can also be seen as a symbol triumphal entry of Ivan the Terrible in Kazan," the guide said again.

Each of the churches were dedicated to something or someone. Agnes, Jason, Takumi and Akane looked around with keen interest.

"This is so interesting,"Agnes said.

"Yes," he replied.

She felt the walls of the museum, the faint picture of mother Mary and Jesus and the other beautiful paintings. It was just as beautiful outside, as inside. Human can sure do wonders.

In the evening, Jason and Agnes sat down at the pavement in Red Square.

"You know, Jason, my mom was elder to my dad," Agnes said, biting into her dark chocolate.

"Really?"

"Yeah. She died when she was fourty-five. When I was young, she used to tell me the stories of how dad and she met"

"Wow"

"Yes," she smiled. "And it used to be beautiful. As a child, I never liked fairy tales. All I liked was mom telling me her stories, because those were my fairy tales"

Jason looked at her, smiling. Her eyes, adorned with double layered eyelashes looked up into the sky.

"Hey miss Fotaine?"

"Yessum?"

"I like what your father created"

"What? The Fotaine industries? Everyone likes it," she laughed.

He shook his head and pointed at her beautiful face. "I like you the best, Cherry. I like you the best"

That night Agnes went into her room with Jason who was helping her to keep her brought stuff. The flower Jason had given her had withered.

"But I had kept in a vase full of water,"she said, annoyed.

He whispered into her ear. "Maybe, Cherry. This little fellow , fell for you"
