So Many Cherry Blossoms

"Mum!" Hermione cried for what seemed like the thousandth time. She sighed and rubbed her temples.  "Please do not yell at the seamstress."

"I'm not yelling." Jean defended. "I was asking her if she had the dresses I called in earlier this week for."

"Screaming at her will not do anything," Hermione said. "My bridesmaids will be here soon. They are going to decide what the final color will be. You just go to pick the top three. And promise me, you will keep your emotions in check." They walked to the area where their group was to be fitted.

"Alright." Jean sighed. "But-"

"Promise me." Hermione interrupted sternly.

"I just-"

"Ugnh, zip!" Hermione cried making a gesture and closing her hand in her mother's direction.

"I miss Australia." Jean sighed sarcastically as she looked over the dresses on the rack.

Hermione rolled her eyes and toyed with her phone as she waited for the rest of her bridesmaids to arrive.  When she heard the sound of two familiar voices enter the shop, a grin grew on her face.

"Angie! You're impossible!" Ginny's voice cried from the entrance.  I'm asking how much it hurt. Like is it even possible for my body to handle that?"

"Oh Gin." Angelina sighed. "You'll be fine.  They give you a potion, you'll have your baby, and you'll be happy."

"Happy my ass." Ginny scoffed. "You look like shit."

"Why do you think I left the baby with George." Angelina giggled. "Besides I don't need you. I have Hermione." Walking up to Hermione Angelina wrapped her arms around Hermione and smiled.

"Hey, babe!" Ginny smiled awkwardly hugging Hermione over her bulging belly.

"Gin!" Hermione squealed. "You look like you're about to pop!"

"I don't know what you're talking about. I have about three more weeks until this little one comes tearing out of my-"

"I'm going to stop you right there." Mrs. Weasley said walking in with Fleur and Audrey.

"Luna and Hannah are just behind us, I heard Hannah say something along the lines of 'tampon' and just left them to it," Audrey added quietly to Hermione and they went to go drink champagne and sit on puffy couches.

Once everyone was sat down and ready they all turned towards Hermione expectantly who was still standing at the entrance of the room.

"Where's Ron?" Hermione asked looking at the door.

Everyone stared at her perplexed.

"Ickle Ronnikins?" Ginny questioned.

"Hermione dear," Jean said, "Ron isn't supposed to be here.

"Yeah," Luna added. "He isn't supposed to see your dress until the actual wedding."

"Oh yeah," Hermione chuckled and turned around. "I'm just so used to him and Harry being everywhere."

"Tell me about it," Mrs. Weasley giggled.

"Enough chit-chat! It's dresses time!" Ginny cried with a flare of her hand.

Out of nowhere, the seamstress reappeared dragging a rack of dresses behind her.

"We have a few colors to choose from. And I wanted you guys to be part of the decision." Hermione smiled happily clapping her hands together. as she stood in front of her friends with a huge smile on her face.

"You enjoy this too much." Angelina laughed.

"And you wonder why I asked Hermione to plan my wedding," Ginny said to Angelina, who just rolled her eyes in response.

"So could Ginny, Angie, and Audrey. Come up to the model." Hermione asked with an exciting pep in her voice.

"Sure make the pregnant lady get up." Ginny groaned playfully.

They changed into three of the same style dresses and came back out. Ginny in a teal, Angelina in blush pink, and Audrey in a dark blue. The dresses were off the shoulder that had a fold go down to their midsection then the rest of the dress fell to the floor.

(see chapter picture for reference)

"I'm partial to the blue. But that's just because it's my house colors." Luna giggled.

"No offense but, you are the only person that would ever look good in this," Ginny said holding up the side of the dress and raising her eyebrows at Hermione.

"I like the pink," Audrey said.

Murmurs of agreement filled the room.

"Aren't the flowers cherry blossoms?" Jean asked. "I think that would match wonderfully, dear."

"It would match my hair!" Ginny gasped loudly. "Sorry," she whispered once she realized how loud she was.

"Pink it is!" Fleur yelled excitedly.

"Time to find your wedding dress!" Hannah yelled excitedly.

"Okay!" Hermione giggled standing up and pulling a rack of white gowns behind her.

Walking into the booth Hermione pulled on the first dress.

It was champagne-colored with elbow-length sleeves in lace. With the same lace pattern over the rest of the silk.

"I don't like it, "Hermione said wrinkling her nose as she walked out.

"It looks itchy," Hannah remarked.

"It is!" Hermione sighed loudly.

"Next!" Audrey said dismissively as she waved her hand dramatically.

The next dress had two small sleeves just below her shoulders. With tiny lace flowers and jewels sewed on. The mermaid skirts shooshed against the ground. And defined Hermione's curves.

"It's much better than the first." Hermione smiled optimistically.

"But can you walk?" Luna asked.

"No!" Hermione whined as she made her voice wobble.

"Next!" Luna and Hannah said in unison.

The third dress had a sweetheart neckline with no sleeves. There was a lace design on the top that melted into the flowing ballroom skirt.

"Damn!" Ginny hooted when Hermione walked back out.

"Look at you!" Mrs. Weasley called happily.

"You're so beautiful." Jean sighed.

"Can we just take a second and admire her boobs!" Audrey said bluntly.

The entire room dissolved into laughter.

Hermione laughed and crossed her arms over her chest. "So I take that as a yes?"

"Yes!" They all screamed back before breaking down in giggles

Once they all had their measurements taken and dresses ready to pick up three days later they left in a happy gaggle of girls to go eat lunch.

{}{}{}{}{}{}{}

"Hermione? What are you doing?" Ron sighed walking out from the living room of their new flat.

"I'm leaning," Hermione said simply with half of her body hidden behind a wall. "This is where I lean."

"Your dress is over there isn't it?" Ron sighed raising his eyebrows at her.

"Yes! And you can't see it because we are getting married today. I shouldn't even be here. I'm running late." Hermione snapped playfully.

"Should I close my eyes?" Ron asked sarcastically.

"That would be great!"

"Oh, okay," Ron said slowly placing his hands over his eyes.

"Love you, bye." Hermione pecked him on the lips before she left with only an echoing pop to tell she was ever in the kitchen at all.

Grabbing his own bag of things Ron apparated to his parent's house to help set up the stuff for the wedding and then get ready with the rest of his groomsmen. While Hermione and the bridesmaids destroy Harry's house.

Upon walking in Harry was investigating his tie. "Remind me why they're pink." He said, not looking up.

"Because Hermione said so," Ron answered.

"Well, not complaining to her them to her. I intend to keep my life. She also left very specific instructions for how to set up the backyard. They're on the table." Harry said putting his tie down and rolling up his sleeves.

"Brillant," Ron mumbled picking up the two paged list of instructions and drawing of how the tent and ceremony areas were to be set up. "What would I do without her?"

"Die," Harry replied bluntly.

"Thanks, mate," Ron said with a sarcastic twinge in his voice, as they walked outside.

"Anytime," Harry said clapping Ron's shoulder.

"I haven't been to this dress for two weeks and I forgot how hot I was," Audrey said as she scanned herself in the mirror.

"Dresses are in the baby's room," Ginny announced as most of them were still in their bathrobes. Except for Audrey.

"Ginny!" Hermione shrieked from the bathroom counter she was sitting on. "I need you to do my makeup, please."

"Well get down from there and I will." Ginny sighed walking and placing her hands on her hips sassily.

She gave Hermione basic contour. With a light brown eyeshadow to make her eyes stand out. Light pink blush and a shiny gloss that matched the dresses. Admiring her face in the mirror Hermione sighed gratefully.

"You truly are the greatest person alive," Hermione said giving Ginny a tight squeeze.

"Not for long," Ginny said with malice in her voice. "My pregnant self can't curl my hair. So you will be so kind as to do it for me."

"Only because I love you," Hermione said begrudgingly.

All the bridesmaid's hair was styled into a teased ponytail with thick curls cascading down gracefully. Then small wisps of baby hairs curled to help frame their faces. Hermione's hair was the same except there was a braid wrapped around the base of her ponytail.

"We look fabulous!" Hannah sang.

"Not quite," Angelina said. "Someone still needs to put on her dress." All heads turned towards Hermione.

"I'm going, I'm going." She sighed grabbing the white cover bag and shutting the door to Ginny's closet.

Once out she was met with multiple wolf whistles.

"Ladies!" Fleur shouted over all of them. "We have to go!"

"Oh fuck!" Ginny yelped checking the time.

"Alright everybody," Hermione said as they gathered into a circle. "Find someone to hold."

Away they went.

Once all the girls were tucked into Ginny's childhood bedroom Luna and Ginny looked out at the garden where everyone was getting seated.

"Hermione," Ginny questioned. "You invited some muggles, right?"

"Yes." Hermione nodded.

"So what about all the magic?" Luna asked.

"Oh!" Hermione smiled. "I put a forgetfulness potion in the water they'll be served during the reception. So any muggle guest will forget all the magic elements of this wedding. So you needn't worry."

"And what about the ministry?" Audrey asked raising her eyebrows.

"Well," Hermione scratched her neck sheepishly. "Harry, Ron, and I might have snuck into a certain department and pulled some certain strings so no Aurors would show up at my wedding."

Ginny beamed with pride. "That's how you know you were destined to be a Weasley." She gave Hermione a big hug.

They all nodded in understanding before Mrs. Weasley came knocking on the door. "Hermione dear, your father is up here, the rest of you get out here. It's time!"

They all filed out and down the stairs. Leaving Hermione at the top to stand with her father.

"Help me with my veil?" She asked holding it up.

"Of course darling." They pinned it in so the lace fell over her hair and rested gracefully on her back.

Below Charlie had Teddy and Fred Jr. In a wooden wagon holding the rings and Victore trailing behind them with a basket of cherry blossom petals. Then Hannah and Neville. Luna and Rolf. Angelina and George. Percy and Audrey. Bill and Fleur. Harry and Ginny, then Hermione and her father.

The white tent had Cherry blossoms wrapped around the outside and hanging from any available place. White bunting with flowers stuck inside it on the arch at the altar. The chairs were a light brown stain and Ron stood at the altar with a white rose in his lapel and his blush pink tie.

The rest of the bridesmaids held cherry blossoms and white rosed bouquets. The procession started and in slow practiced steps, they all walked down the aisle and split and the end. Until everyone stood for the bride. Hermione Granger.

Once at the front she looked at Ron with a huge smile on her face.

"Hi." She mouthed.

"Hey." He mouthed back.

"Dearly beloved." The pastor started raising his arms. "We are gathered here today to celebrate the marriage of Ronald Billus Weasley and Hermione Jean Granger." The pastor started as everyone sat and watched the long-coming love become sealed. "This is a scared right. An ancient right, as Hermione and Ron, prepare to join their two lives, into one. It is important to understand that everyone present has played a part in bringing these two together. In shaping their lives, in one place or another. And all of you will continue to play a vital role in their future. And thus, we are not only here to witness their vows to each other but to bestow upon them our blessing. And now the couple will read their vows."

The focus turned to Ron who almost reached in his pocket for his vows but changed his mind. "All my life. I've just been another Weasley. Red hair and freckles. If it wasn't for this woman here in front of me-"

Harry coughed loudly behind Ron.

"And Harry standing behind me." Rom continued smoothly and the audience laughed. "I probably would just be, another Weasley. But not to you. Not to Hermione. For almost twelve years I have known this amazing girl. And even if it took me six years to realize my feeling for her, here we are. On this day I am no longer Ron Weasley some thick-skulled kid. I'm now Ronald Weasley, the man who made the smartest decision of his life. Marrying Hermione Granger. Because I become accountable to her. To our marriage, to all the possibilities our marriage has to offer. And together, with you, no matter what happens, I'll be ready. Because I'll have you right there next to me. I'll be ready for anything. For everything. To take on life, to take on love. With you. Today, our life together begins, And I for one can not wait."

A collective 'aw' went through the crowd as Hermione squeezed Ron's hands in hers. Tear's welled in her eyes.

"I love you." She whispered to him before clearing her throat and began reading off her own vows.

"You never know the biggest day of your life is the biggest until it's over. I've had my fair share of big days. I've been attacked by a troll. I thought nothing could top that. I was chased by criminals through the Ministry of Magic. I work there now. I was part of the biggest war of the century, I was part of the winning side. But none of that, none at all, can top today. Because I've been waiting for today for seven years. The moment I attacked you with tiny yellow birds, I know, that today is what I wanted. It took me five years before that, to realize that I wanted today at all. But I'm so grateful today, is now. Granted most of the time we spent together was me correcting your awful," Hermione let out a shudder, mostly for effect, but not all the way, some of the shame was real.

"Essays, those things were terrible.  But I did them for you nonetheless. In my twelve years of knowing you a lot has happened. We saved the world. We got jobs. We paid bills. How come no one warned us about that?" Hermione asked turning towards the crowd. "But right here, right now, is the best thing to happen to us yet. But, before anything else happens, I would like to take a moment, to remember the fallen. For those who fought, and lost, those who without them Ron and I might not be standing here today." Turning towards the pastor she looked him in the eye. "Now, I need you to marry us because I can not stand another second being here and not being a Weasley."

The pastor smiled. "One moment and I can do just that. May I please have the rings?"

Teddy once again stepped forward proudly bearing two golden bands on a soft pink pillow.

Ron took the ring in his hand and Hermiones left in his other.

"Now," The pastor said. "Repeat after me. I Ronald Weasley."

"I Ronald Weasley." Ron echoed

"Take you, Hermione Granger." The pastor continued.

"Take you, Hermione Granger."

"To have an to hold, from this day forward."

"To have and to hold from this day forward." Ron's eyes crinkled as he smiled at Hermione who was glowing with anticipation.

"For better or for worse. For richer or poorer. In sickness and health."

"For better or for worse. For richer or poorer. In sickness and health." Ron repeated back, each breath in his chest bringing him higher into bliss.

"To love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part."

"To love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part," Ron said sliding the ring onto Hermione's finger.

"Now Ms. Granger, repeat after me." The pastor said turning towards Hermione as she took Ron's ring in her hand. "I Hermione Granger."

"I, Hermione," Hermione said back, nodding at every syllable.

"Take you, Ronald Weasley." The pastor continued.

"Take you, Ronald Weasley."

"To have an to hold, from this day forward."

"To have and to hold from this day forward." Hermione's breath left her chest as every second brought her closer to the man she loved, forever.

"For better or for worse. For richer or poorer. In sickness and health."

"For better or for worse. For richer or poorer. In sickness and health." Hermione echoed back, the smile on her face growing even wider.

"To love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part."

"To love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part," Pushing the ring on his finger Hermione leaned in to kiss Ron but the pastor coughed stopping them.

"Not quite yet." He whispered. "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you Husband and Wife."

"Now?" Ron asked as they both looked towards him.

"Now." The pastor confirmed.

Taking each other in their arms the couple melted into a kiss that was burning with love and passion, it was deep and delicate. In their own world, Ron and Hermione made a gentle dance upon the altar the two shared much more than a kiss. They talked through touching lips and there was a desire that wasn't there before. And they loved it.

Before the eyes of the guests, chairs whizzed around and tables popped up from the ground. Golden platters and glass champagne flutes appered on the table. Petals from the centerpieces flew up in the air catching in people's hair as a wooden dance floor appeared.

People filled their plates with the mountains of food provided. Wine and champagne were poured from expensive bottles. Ron and Hermione walked around talking to all the attendants. The sun began to set as Ron and Hermione finally made it back to their table.

"Oh for the love of Merlin, I'm starving!" Hermione gasped as she sat down next to Ginny. Grabbing Ginny's plate Hermione started taking oversized bites of the lasagna and stuffing them into her mouth.

"I was going to eat that," Ginny said as she watched Hermione down her food. "And what would happen if you spilled this on your dress?"

"Magic," Hermione replied pulling her wand out from one of the many folds of her skirt.

"Well, if you're eating I guess now is as good a time as ever to make my speech," Ginny smirked pushing out her chair and standing. She gently tapped her spoon against her glass which was filled with water.

Holding her stomach for a second Ginny cleared her throat and smiled widely. "No one told me how hard it was going to be to write my vows. That stressed me out. But writing this speech, it almost killed me. Because I have no idea how to top the wonderful Hermione Grang-"

"Weasley." Ron and Hermione corrected in sync.

"Let's just say writing this gave me a run for my money." Ginny continued. "Ron and Hermione are a miracle. Because I have no idea what she sees in my brother." The crowd 'ooh' ed and Harry snorted into his glass. "But, it's also because I never thought two people could love each other more than these two do. Hermione and Ron are made for each other. They are night and day. White and black. They work to get in harmony even though it makes no sense. And I wish them a lifetime of happiness. And just because you're married, don't think you've gotten rid of me. But Ron," Ginny said turning towards him. "She's your problem now." Sitting back down she left the guests laughing.

Sitting in her seat for a moment Ginny took the plate back from Hermione and finished the breadstick and salad Hermione hadn't touched yet.

A few minutes later Harry clinked his spoon to his own glass as he stood to make his speech. "As much as I would like to get on with this and eat cake. I can't  because Ron made the best man speech at my wedding I have to do it for him and blah blah blah." Harry groaned as he laughed at his own joke.

"Can I just say? IT TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH!" Harry yelled leaning down so he was at eye level with Ron and Hermione. "God. Who takes twelve years to marry their soulmate? Romione better be worth the wait. I'm expecting big things from you two. BIG! Because I swear for like two years everyone knew you two were meant to be except you! Hermione, the brightest witch of our age. Can't take a hint!"

Harry was making wild gestures and pacing back a forth as he pretended to be a stand-up comedian. "Okay, I'm done being rude. I mean, Ron and Hermione are the power couple of the century. After Ginny and myself. And George and Angie. Percy and Audrey, Charlie and Dylan, Bill and Flure, Mr. Flitch and Ms. Norris, but you get the point." Harry waved a dismissive hand as he continued. "And I will leave you with a story from sixth year,"

Ron sat up straighter and looked at Harry fear growing in his eyes.

"You see," Harry continued. "It was late and Ronald here couldn't sleep. So we talked about skin."

Ron jumped and pushed Harry's shoulders down as he tried to clamp a hand over Harry's mouth.

"Hermione has nice skin," Harry yelled through Ron's fingers before giving in and sitting down.

"I'm never asking you for another favor," Ron mumbled as he straightened his suit and sat back down. "Ever."

"Hey," Ginny whispered as she leaned over to talk to the three. "I'm pregnant, and the baby is telling me, it's cake time."

"Well, if the baby says so, then I guess we have to." Ron chuckled as he and Hermione stood up to cut the cake.

As they went to cut the cake Harry and Ginny stood to the side as the crowd chanted.

"Cut the cake! Cut the cake! Cut the cake!"

How's is our baby?" Harry asked wrapping his arms around Ginny and resting them on top of her stomach. Kissing the back of her shoulder Harry smiled as Hermione smooshed a piece of cake into Ron's nose.

"Kicking like their life depends on it," Ginny answered running over her hand over her stomach.

"I told you, this one is a quidditch player." Harry laughed.

Ginny laughed a leaned her head back kissing Harry's cheek. "Shoot, the photographers here." She said breaking away. Turning her voice up she scanned the crowd. "Please enjoy the cake while we take photos and then we will get to DANCING!" She yelled and beckoned the wedding party up to the hill.

Ron and Hermione stood next to each other holding two signs that said: We're Married! The photographer snapped a few photos and wanted to move on but Ginny asked for one more. And held a sign up behind them that said: finally!

Then Harry and Ginny held a sign up that said: Not Here By Choice

Then they all took family photos. Girls, boys. They were under the stars, so the last picture was of Ron and Hermione's backs as they stared up at the sky.

"BEAUTIFUL!" Hannah yelled once they were finished.

"It's time to dance!" Luna whooped.

Heading back to the tent, people cleared off the floor as Hermione and Ron took their place in the center.

The slow sweet of "Can't Help Fallin' In Love With You" came over the speakers. Spinning in a slow sweet circle, Ron and Hermione held each other close swinging and swaying to the music. Kissing the top of her head Ron laughed to himself.

"I can't believe this is happening." He sighed sweetly. "My life is perfect."

"I love you," Hermione answered back. "For I can't help falling in love with you." Sang along with the song to him.

The moment ended much too soon and soon the guests flooded the floor ready to dance. A few songs later, Ginny found a chair on the edge of the floor and watched the guests bop and dance to the rhythm of the song. Before an all-familiar tune came over the dance floor. Before she knew Ron was standing over her with his hand held out.

"May I have this dance?" He asked.

"How many times must you do this?" She asked as they walked on the floor.

"Hey, Jude.

"As many times as I have to," Ron answered smartly.

Laughing hard Ginny let her brother spin her around the floor.

They swung all over the floor in an energetic dance-off. Then pretending to waltz and going into another spin, Ginny stopped.

"Ginny?" Ron asked.

"Ow ow ow." She muttered to herself.

"Ginny?" Ron asked touching her shoulder.

She then doubled over in pain clutching her stomach. "Something's wrong, Ron." She gasped in a pained whisper, before clutching his arm so she wouldn't fall over.

"HARRY!" Ron yelled over the noise of the crowd.

"What? What is it?" Harry asked running over when he saw the fear in Ron's face.

"Something's wrong," Ron said.

"Wrong? Wrong with what?" Harry asked as he bent over to help Ginny.

"The baby." She whispered back.
