Leave. Me. Alone.

Harry woke up to the sounds of Ron snoring loudly in his sleep. More loudly than usual. We rubbed his face and pushed his glasses on. In the corner of the room, there was a pile of books and parchment where he and Ron were 'studying' for their Auror courses.

Harry sat against the wall and pulled a thick volume full of spells onto his lap. The words were blurred together on the page as Harry kept finding his mind wander to the thought of Ginny.  He would gaze longingly towards the door wanting to go wrap Ginny in his arms.

He looked down at the scraps of parchment littered around his feet and grabbed a dull quill. He scratched out a note on the paper. As he read the lines back to himself he threw it aside and stood. Walking down the winding staircase HArry entered the kitchen.

Mrs. Weasly was bustling around cooking eggs and buttering toast mid-air when she saw Harry standing behind a chair looking out the window.

"Good morning Harry, dear." She said sweetly. "Breakfast is ready. Could you please go wake the others. I would love to eat as a family while you're here."

"Sure thing, Mrs. Weasly," Harry said, right away. He wanted to do everything he could to help out at the Weasley's. After Fred, he could barely stand being in their house without feeling guilty.

Harry walked up the stairs tiredly. When he reached Ginny and Hermione's room he knocked before peeking his head in.

"Hey, breakfast is ready." Harry walked over to Hermione's bed and gently shook her shoulder.

"What?" She spluttered, "Ron?"

"Since when did Harry get downgraded to Ron's level of attractiveness?" Ginny scoffed.

Harry turned and saw she was sitting on the edge of her bed looking at them with a small grin dancing on her lips. Hermione saw a gaze between the two. This was the first time she had seen Ginny smile in months.

"Morning, breakfast is ready." Harry said nervously, "I need to go wake, Ron." He hurried out of the room and up the stairs.

Ginny bit her lip as he left. Resisting the urge to chase after him she got dressed instead.

"Wake up you lump," Harry said kicking Ron's bed frame from the doorway. "Foods' ready."

Ron sat up quickly and started to walk out before Harry moved in front of him.

"Get dressed will you? We have things to do after." Harry asked before leaving and going back downstairs.

They all sat around the table eating.  The conversations floated around the girls going back to school in a few weeks, and Harry and Ron's upcoming Auror training.

Ginny was fairly quiet the whole time adding the occasional comment. Once breakfast was over Ginny hurried back up to her room. Followed quickly, by Harry.

His knuckles hovered over her slammed door for a moment before he finally knocked. The taps echoed loudly.

"Ginny?" He asked.

"Go away, Harry." Her muffled voice came through the door.

"Ginny, please talk to me," Harry begged through two inches of wood.

"Harry, I said leave me alone." Ginny's voice grew louder as she walked closer to the door. "Haven't you done enough?"

The last part stung. But Harry chose to ignore it for the time being. "I can't. Knowing you're like this, you're all I can think about."

"Harry, you have no idea what you put me through. I love you, but I can't be with you knowing that you're going to run off and become an Auror." Ginny sounding like she was leaning on the other side of the door. "I can't deal with losing you again. You see Harry. I can't do it. Not again." Her voice wobbled and grew quiet once more. There was the creak of bedsprings, and then silence.

Against his better judgment, Harry burst through the door and sees Ginny sitting the bed looking down at her folded hands.  He goes over to hug her but she stands up and backs away.

"Ginny-" Harry said reaching one of his hands out.

"No Harry, get away from me," Ginny said her voice strained.

"But, I'm sorry. Ginny just list-" Harry said backing up but not fleeing.

"Harry I said no. Can't you just leave me alone?" Ginny repeated.

Ginny was up against the back wall now and Harry only a meter away from her.

"Ginny, I can't leave you," Harry said his own emotion creeping in his voice.

"Yes you can, and you will. You've done it once I don't see what's stopping you from doing it again." Ginny said harshly. Tears spilled from her eyes but her face was screwed up with pure anger.

The finality in her features made Harry's blood boil. "Fine!" He snapped. "You want me gone? I'm going."

He walked out of the room aggressively and slammed the door behind him. Harry stomped through the house in a raging rampant. He didn't stop until he was outside the protective enchantments and apparated away.

The loud crack echoed across the Burrow. Ginny watched from her window as Harry disappeared into thin air. She fell onto her bed letting out a wail. She screamed into her sheets sobbing harder than before.
