How's That Working Out?? Pt. One
"We should go on a picnic!" Hermione said suddenly throwing the Daily Prophet across the room.
"Uh...Hermione? It's November." Ginny reminded her hiding her laugh behind her hands.
"Okay, then we should go to dinner."
"Why?" Ginny questioned looking at her with her eyebrows raised.
"WE NEVER DO ANYTHING FUN ANYMORE!!" Hermione ranted
"We do plenty," Ginny said rolling her eyes and looking back down at her book.
"Going to work, eating sleeping and snogging does not count as plenty," Hermione said jabbing Ginny's arm to be annoying.
"Will you get off?" Ginny says pulling her arm away.
"Not until you agree to do something fun with me."
"Like what?"
"Surprise the boys with dinner. Or take them out! OR DO SOMETHING!" Hermione falls backward with her hair flown out and legs kicked up in the air.
"Keep that up and your fancy curtains are going to fall down." Ginny nodded to Hermione who's feet had tangled in the four-poster bed.
"Pleeeeeeeese!?" Hermione whined.
"If I say yes will you stop bothering me?" Ginny said flipping her hair and closing her book. She wasn't really getting any reading done anyway.
"Not really!" Hermione shrugged.
"So it's a lose-lose situation?"
"That only depends on how you look at it Gin," Hermione said cooley pretending to examine her nails.
"Fine, where do you want to take them?" Ginny sighed defeated.
"Really?" Hermione gasped.
"Why not," Ginny said slowly, sitting up and leaning against the bed frame.
Running across the room Hermione dug a notebook put from the bottom of her desk.
Groaning Ginny threw her head back.
"You have it written out!?" She exclaimed in disbelief.
"Down to every last detail."
"Why? Why me?" Ginny said faintly and looking up at the ceiling.
"Haha, very funny," Hermione said dryly. "Come on! This will be fun!"
"What did I get myself into?" Ginny said folding her legs making room for Hermione on the bed.
Hermione gingerly opened the notebook. There was faint sparkling cardstock coved in neat cursive writing and pale pastel-colored dresses. There were ribbons attached to paper and swabs of cloth. Under the cutouts, there were lists and random ideas. The entire notebook smelt of sugar and the spine creaked when the pages were turned.
Mouth hanging open Ginny gently stroked the lines with her fingers afraid to apply to much pressure or smudge the beautiful delicate art.
"Hermione, it's- it's beautiful," Ginny says quietly running her fingers along the edges.
"Oh, it's nothing."
"Nothing, this sure is something. 'Mione, it's amazing."
"Thanks, Ginny. And because you agreed to do this. My Grandma has a lot of dresses. We go try someone today and borrow them. Oh, THIS WILL BE SO MUCH FUN!" Hermione sealed scrunching her face up and pushing her cheeks with her fingers.
BANG!!!!!
Harry had thrown open the door to the room with Ron right behind him.
"Bloody hell," Ron mumbled, quickly walking over to Hermione. Grabbing her he pulled her into a tight protective hug.
"Harry, what's going on?" Ginny questioned standing and walking towards him. Harry hugging her tightly. Pushing her head unto his shoulder and he inhaled her scent. Not letting her go.
"I love you so much," Ron said sitting down in the bed and pulling Hermione onto his lap. Holding her waist tightly he rested his head on the back of her shoulder.
"Look at me. Let me see your face." Harry said quickly. Holding Ginny's cheeks Harry stared into her eyes and sobbed, just once but he sobbed.
"Harry," Ginny said gently. "What happened?" She looked at him concerned. "Come here." Pulling him into another hug she rubbed his back gently. "What happened?"
"There was a boggart." Ron croaked still looking down.
"A boggart?" Hermione questioned. "But why would spiders and - death, or whatever. Why would have they shaken you up so badly?"
"It's not death we saw," Harry said shaking.
"Hermione, the-the Lestrange's, they-they had you again. And, they hurt you again." Ron said pausing often to breathe deeply and hold Hermione tighter.
Hermione was subconsciously rubbing her forearm.
"That was worse then spiders could ever be." Ron shook his head and took many shaky breaths.
"Oh, Ron." Hermione turned around and hugged Ron. "I'm so sorry." She whispered into his neck.
"I love you so much, Hermione," Ron whispered.
"Harry," Ginny said gently. "What did you see?"
"I-I saw you. You were alive, but you were crying. Ginny, you were broken. I broke you. Your eyes were sad and empty. They lost their spark. I knew that I was me, who caused you that anguish. I can't live with that. I'm so sorry Ginny. I promise I promise to never hurt you. Ever."
Harry was shaking violently.
"Oh God Harry. I could never stop loving you." Ginny frowned in severe sympathy. She cupped his cheek with her hand and ran her thumb under his eye gently.
Leaning forward she placed her forehead against his.
"I love you, Harry. You could never cause me anguish." Smiling lightly she moved her head and kissed his cheek lightly. They stayed like that for a while, just foreheads resting on one another's.
Hermione laid on Ron's chest and he held her tight against him.
"I'll never leave you. Never again." Ron whispered.
"Is that a promise?" Hermione said.
"It's more than a promise, its a pinky promise," Ron responded. So sure of himself. Hermione held her pinky up giggling, Ron took it. Shaking their pinkies together they sealed the deal.
"You know, " Hermione says after a long stretch of silence. "Ginny and I were thinking... We should go out."
"Where?" Ron asked shortly and sitting up slightly.
"This restaurant," Hermione answers wiggling out of Ron's protective hold and reaching for the notebook. "It's French. And it's called Estelle's."
"And what are these?" Ron asked picking up the notebook and flipping through the pages.
"Well, Estelle's is very fancy, so we would have to dress the part." Hermione shrugged, grabbing the notebook back and closing it gently.
"If you and Ginny have to wear fancy clothes, then that means, I would have to wear a suit!" Ron gasps mortified.
"Yeah, I have a friend who could tailor them for you two."
"I don't know if I can go back to the land of dress robes." Ron shakes his head with a lost look in his eyes as he recounts the misfortune of Yule Ball and its events.
"I think, you will live." Hermione laughed.
"I don't know about that," Harry mumbled looking up. "Ronniekins was scarred for life after that disaster."
Trying to muffle her laugh Ginny squeezed Harry's hand fondly.
"Humor that mocks my pain. Screaming with laughter, Harry." Ron snips back in a monotone voice rolling his eyes.
"I hate how similar you two are!" Ginny says making a screwed up suspicious face and flicked her eyes between the two.
"Are we going to go out for not!" Hermione exclaimed annoyed causing everyone to jump.
"I mean, I'm down." Harry shrugged.
"I-I guess." Ron sighed hanging his head.
"Oh, you'll be fine," Hermione said swatting his arm. "I need to go call Hugh." Hermione hopped off the bed. "And don't think that I don't k ow you are rolling your eyes right now Sir Weasley!" She yelled over her shoulder as she grabbed the banister and swung downstairs.
"We've been friends for too long," Ron said eyes widening and shaking his head once more.
"When do you think we would go to dinner?" Harry asked.
"I'm guessing tomorrow or Monday." Ginny shrugged. "I mean, we have this week off, and we can't go to Mum and Dad's until Tuesday, and when Hermione says 'tailored' she really means a friend handing you three acceptable suits, making you try all them on and picking one."
"That sounds too complicated for me," Harry says leaning back and resting in his elbows.
"But deciding to go into a secret chamber and fight a giant man-killing snake is an easy one." Ginny challenges.
"Let's not forget that I also saved your life," Harry said pointedly.
"That is beside the point!" Ginny says back defensively.
"God, you two sound like an old married couple." Ron groaned.
"Ronald, would an old married couple do this?" Ginny questioned as she began to crawl over Harry.
"If you two start snogging, I. Swear! To. GOD! I will have an aneurysm right here, right now." Ron said standing up trying to display his dominance.
"Fine, fine," Ginny said defensively retreating back.
Hermione bounced back into the room happily. "Hugh said that he could fit the two of you in today! But you only have thirty minutes to get ready! So go go go!" Both of the boys looked at her for a second. "GO!" She said back exasperated.
Scrambling up both the boys went up to their room to get dressed.
"We should probably get dressed too," Hermione said much calmer. "Once we drop the boys off we can go surprise my grandmother."
"What should I wear?" Ginny questioned.
"Something you don't mind getting in and out of multiple time, and something that won't take you forever to put on," Hermione said pushing Ginny out of her room.
"WAIT!" Ginny exclaimed turning around and pounding her fists against the door. "Can I borrow you're a white sweater?" She cried through the cracks of the door.
"Here," Hermione said holding the neatly folded sweater in her hand put through a small crack in the doorway just big enough for her arm to for through.
"Thanks!" Ginny said like a little girl plucking the sweater up.
Hermione closed the door laughing and asking her head.
Picking up a pale purple blouse with a pair of strings hanging from the collar in a limp bow. Pulling on white jeans with a thick light brown belt. Then with light brown boots. She had straightened her hair and parted it down the middle.
She met Ginny in the hallway who had put on the white open backed sweater and a dark blue pair of jeans(no holes) with a grey ankle boots and a grey infinity scarf. She had pulled her hair up into a neat ballerina bun and had her baby hairs held back with a white headband.
"Where are the boys?" Hermione questioned looking around. "BOYS!" She called through the house.
"IN THE KITCHEN!" They yelled back.
"You two take forever to get ready," Harry said when they walked in.
"At least we look presentable," Hermione said.
"We look presentable! Ron protested. He had on a pair of faded Army Green jeans and black sneakers. He had a dark grey hoodie.
Harry had on a pair of denim Vans, black joggers and his dark blue Weasley sweater.
"Why, on earth! Are you wearing my mother's sweater?" Ginny exclaimed.
"It's comfy," Harry responded nonchalantly.
"When we get married the only thing you are in charge of, is your hair. But that has a mind of its own. Okay?" Ginny said giving a sweet smile towards Harry before gently grabby ghisbching and pecking him lightly on the lips.
"We have places to be!" Hermione interrupts loudly.
Rolling her eyes Ginny dropped her hand from Harry's face and turned towards Hermione sassily. Before walking out the door Ginny handed Harry and army green windbreaker.
Please? She mouthed. Nodding Harry took the jacket and pulled it on.
"Then let's go." They linked hands once on the porch and appeared in an empty parking garage near a strip mall.
"Boys," Hermione said turning towards the pair. "You are muggles now. And you will be muggles until Ginny and I come to pick you up. Do you understand?"
"Yes," Ron said unsure.
"Here take this money. Once you have your suits find a pretzel stand and buy food with the leftover money." Hermione shoved a few bills into Harry's palm.
"Tell Hugh at 'Ten Men' that you're Hermione's friends and he should help you right away." Smiling Hermione grabbed Ginny's wrist and removed them from the area.
"Annnd, she's gone." Ron sighed. "We are going to die now."
"Get over yourself," Harry said walking away from the garage.
"Wait for me!" Ron called after him running slightly to catch up.
"Here, think of it this way," Harry said as they walked across the square into the store. "The sooner we find clothing. The sooner we can stuff our mouths full with pretzels."
"That time cannot come soon enough." Ron sighed longing.
"Mate, stop acting like a twelve-year-old girl. Do you see a map or anything?" Harry asked looking around the halls for a building display.
"There!" Ron said pointing at a large lighted display with a black stainless steel wrapped about it.
Walking towards the display Harry combed the map with his eyes looking for 'Ten Men'.
"Third floor, east hall," Harry muttered to himself.
"Let's go," Ron said eagerly.
Bounding toward the escalator Harry grabbed the back of his friends shirt.
"Slow down there Mate." Harry did pulling Ron back. "You don't know how that works."
"Sure I do," Ron said to pull out of Harry's grasp but staying next to him. "It's a staircase, is not that hard to walk up flight stairs," Ron said this is an obvious voice.
"Your funeral," Harry said casually and stepping on.
When Harry began moving up the stairs Ron's mouth hung open.
"You coming?" Harry questioned as the flight pulled him higher.
"I-I don't know," Ron said hovering his foot over a step.
"You'll be fine!" Harry yelled down at him clearly enjoying himself. "Just step in between the two lines very quickly."
Grabbing onto the side of the escalator Ron's arms began to pull himself up while his feet were still planted on the ground.
Panicking Ron pulled both feet up and landing them on a crack of the stairs. His feet slipped back onto the step behind him. Ron had kept his hands in the same place had his back arched and butt sticking out in an awkward angle. Ron looked down at his feet and back up at Harry with the face he made the first time he saw The Forbidden Forest, spider family.
Laughing Harry turned and stepped off, waiting for Ron patiently to get his entire body of the escalator.
"Fuck! I am never going on that Devil Machine again!" Ron swore to turn around and glaring at the escalator menacing.
"It is a machine." Harry laughed. "It does the same thing every time."
"Let's just go to the store," Ron said sourly.
Compressing his laughter Harry sealed his lips and blew air into his cheeks.
"Here it is," Ron said a few seconds later.
The store was not huge, but it was spacious. There were suits in the racks and on a few mannequins. There were four black doored stalls int he back for changes. Harry and Ron walked around a little bit and waited to be acknowledged. The store was empty, there were no other customers.
"Can I help you?" A man with light brown hair in a flooded up style. It was combed up and slightly to the side. No, a comb-over. It was a fashionable sense. He had on a white dress shirt cuffed just below the elbows with a dark grey unbuttoned vest on top. He had matching grey trousers and light brown dress shoes. There was a white tape wrapped around his neck and he had glasses perched on the top of his head. Hugh's soft face scrunched together when he smiled and walked towards Harry and Ron.
"You must be Ron!" He beamed towards Ron. "And Harry." He said turning and facing Harry. "Yes, Hermione told me that you would be coming. She said you needed suits. So that correct?"
"Yeah, we need to rent suits for dinner tomorrow night." Harry nodded smiling.
"Follow me." Huge said happily strutting towards the empty space near the dressing rooms.
"Let me see you." He said grabbing Harry's should and staring at him. "Hmm... Turn!" Harry turned around uncomfortable. "I see, a brown, with a cream tie and dark brown shoes." Biting his lip Harry looked at Hugh with apprehension.
"Believe me, Harry! Jenny will love it!" Hugh gushed walking over to a rack and shifting through the brown section.
"Ginny." Harry corrected.
"Right!" Hugh said walking back over and holding a dark brown suit in with a tie slung over the shoulder. "Now, go try this!" Shoving the clothes into Harry's hands Hugh pushed him lightly into a dressing room before closing the door.
Sputtering slightly Harry stood there for a second before sighing a trying the suit on.
"You!" Hugh said clapping his hands once and causing Ron to jump up from the coach he was sitting on very quickly. "Hmmm..." He made a quick circle with his index finger telling Ron to turn. "Hmmm." He said again.
"Hmmm. What?" Ron asked losing his patience.
"For you, we make a statement!" Hugh said suddenly snapping his fingers.
Rushing over to a rack where Ron could not see him Hugh could be heard clanking hangers.
"He is mental," Ron whispered to himself.
"FOUND THEM!" Hugh sang walking back in with a dark grey suit, black dress shirt, and dark blue tie. "Oh, God. This might just be some of my best work." Hugh gushed holding his heart.
Pushing Ron into the stall next to Harry's Hugh wiped his hands together and started scribbling frivolously on a clipboard behind the counter.
"I hate to say it, but you were right," Harry said walking out in the suit. "It does not look half bad."
"I'm never wrong Mr. Potter, never. Now go change out of those and I will wrap them up or you." Hugh said looking back down at his papers circling one item.
Harry came back once more with the suit hung on its hangers wrapped around his arm. Placing them on the counter for Hugh.
"I don't believe it," Ron said walking out of the dressing room staring down at his own arms. "It actually looks good."
"Don't act so surprised," Hugh gasped in the false offense. "Now, take that off and bring it here. Your total is £400. About. We expect those back in three to five days."
Writing up the costs and typing them into the computer Hugh took the money from Harry and placed the suits on a rack which then revolved into the back room and came back out wrapped in plastic.
"Hope to see you again!" Hugh called after the two as they were walking out the store.
"That was easy," Harry commented holding the plastic wrapped suit over his shoulder.
"Pretzel time!!" Ron shouted excitedly.
"You and food." Harry shook his head. "Here, will you take this? I need to use the loo."
"Sure mate," Ron said grabbing Harrys things. "See you down there."
"Are you sure you can make the escalator by yourself?" Harry questioned.
"Yeah! For sure!" Ron said back.
"Sure you can Ron," Harry said clapping his hand on Ron's shoulder.
Walking towards the bathroom Harry stooped behind the corner. Once sure that Ron was downstairs Harry changed direction.
πππππππππππππππππ
Hermione and Ginny stumbled into existence in front of a fountain in a deserted park.
"My Grandmother's house is only a few blocks away." Hermione started taking big steps to get out of the cold.
Once they arrived on a cobblestone path in front of a large house, not a mansion but a large house. Hermione started talking again.
"Remember, she is old and sassy, but she has good taste. And we need those dresses. Be polite and do as she says and we shouldn't have a problem." Hermione said before taking the large steel knocker.
Rapping it four times they waited.
"Who's there?" A shrill voice questioned from the other side of the door.
"Hermione, Grandmother." Hermione answer answered putting a fake giggle behind her voice.
"Hermione? Dear, is been a while come in come in!" Her Grandmother rushed opening the door and ushering her in.
"Get you out of the bitter cold. Oh, and you've brought a guest!" Her grandmother said happily. "Who is this?"
"Grandmother, this is Ginny Weasley. She went to boarding school with me." Hermione presented Ginny who gave the most genuine smile she could give.
"Nice to meet you Ms. –"
"Holly," she answered. "Call me Holly."
"Okay, nice to meet you, Ms. Holly," Ginny said taking her hand to shake it warmly.
"Now, what brings you here?" Holly questioned.
"Well, the pleasure of your company of course but also, I remember as a little girl all the amazing dresses you had, so beautiful and elegant. Ginny and I are to be going to dinner with our boyfriends tomorrow night and we're wondering if we could borrow some?" Hermione said nervously.
"Oh don't be such a brown nose, Hermione!" Holly gasped laughing. "And of course you may borrow some of my dresses. Come come. Let's go try some on."
Ushering them up to the stairs they go up to the third floor which is filled with racks of dresses and shoes. Scarfs and jackets. Hard and hair products. It was a beauty guru's dream.
"Wow!" Ginny gasped looking around.
There was a curtained area in the corner for changing and a large plush ottoman in the middle of the room.
"Go look! I want each of you to come back with two dresses you like. Ginny might I suggest over there, " Holly pointed to the area to the right. "Those dresses would go better with your hair and eyes. And Hermione to the left would compliment your features." Grabbing a magazine Holly sat down gracefully on the seating area.
Hermione was instantly drawn to a dark red dress. She pulled it off the rack. It was long, would probably end around her ankles. There was a shiny gold belt that would cling to her waist. The top was a v-neck that showed off only a little bit an of cleavage. The straps were about two inches thick and went all the way down the otherwise opened back to the rest of the skirt at the lower back. The skirt was like a mermaid skirt but looser. There was a slit in the right leg that tracked all the way up to the mid-thigh.
Hermione grabbed the dress the placed it around her arm. The walking through the rows of racks she catches the eye of her one weakness. Lace. A beautiful navy blue lace dress.
The sleeves were entirely made of lace and would go all the way down to her wrists. The neck was a wide boatneck with that went halfway off the shoulders. The skirt went down to her knees and had a small elastic band on the waist to bring the skirt together. And the top, the entire thing, was topped with dark blue lace.
Holding the dress against her body Hermione sighed and placed it gently on top of the red one.
Ginny who had gone to the right as Holly had to suggested automatically went to her favorite color group to wear. Green. She found a breezy emerald green dress that was also covered in lace. It went down to just above her knees and had short sleeves that hung off in a beautiful lace pattern. The whole dress was most free-flowing but would compliant Ginny's figure nicely.
After tedious searching, Ginny went back to the middle with only the one dress.
"I told you to find two!" Holly exclaimed laughing, it was not a big deal.
"Ginny!" Hermione whined stomping her foot. "Green? You always wear green! I'm not saying you don't look good in it, but this is a special dinner and you could go out with Harry just once without wearing something that would complement his eyes."
"But, I like green!" Ginny protested. "It also goes very well with my hair."
"I might just have something," Holly muttered. Standing up she ventured back towards the right and entered the more purplish color area. Then she gasped and pulled out a dress. Bringing it over it was more of a dark purple with a hint of dark pink.
It had sleeves that were composed of a wrap that was around the torso as well. The sleeves went down to her elbows. There were slits along the top that were decorated with pearls. The skirt went down to just above the knees and had a free moving but tight figure.
Ginny took the dress in her fingers and held it in a slight daze.
"Oh." Was all she could say.
"Well don't just look at it!" Hermione gasped sounding choked up. "Go try it on!" Ginny smiled and rolled her eyes. She brought the second over behind the curtain.
You could hear her rustling around and change. She came out. Her hair was the same but the dress complimented her perfectly. She looked modest but sexy. Graceful but bold, the darkness of the dress made her skin look creamy and smooth. Her orange hair looked more pastel with just made each price look even more vibrant in its own way.
"Oh, oh God." Hermione gasped putting the dresses down and fanning her eyes. "Oh, Ginny you look so beautiful. Shit- sorry, shoot. Ginny you're going to make me ruin my makeup. Oh, God! You look so pretty. Why am I crying!?" Hermione's face was red and she had tears spilling from her eyes. She was laughing and smiling. "Oh, you look so grown up and beautiful. But you could still kick everyone's asses in that. Sorry, Grandmother." She added.
Holly just waved her hand and smiled. Once the two girls had turned away she wiped a few tears of her own.
"I don't need to try on the green one," Ginny said hugging Hermione. "May I borrow this one?"
"Of course dear," Holly answered.
Nodding and wiping their eyes Ginny walked back in to change again. Once she came out Holly took the dress from her hand and zipped it up into a dress cover.
"Go try on yours now!" Ginny said smiling and flicking her hands at Hermione motioning her towards the curtained stall.
Hermione came out in the red one. She looked stunning. The dress made her figure pop and she looked so sexy.
"So?" Hermione asked as the two examined her.
"Honest?" Ginny asked.
"Honest." Hermione nodded. "No matter how brutal."
"You look like a prostitute trying to rob a rich man at a fancy ball. Granted, you look sexy, but still."
"I don't like the top, " Holly added. "Not on you at least dear."
"I wasn't especially fond either." Hermione grinned. "But hearing that is a for sure."
"What about the other one?" Ginny asked.
"Give me a minute!" Hermione snapped pretending to be annoyed.
She walked back in, took a million years to come back out. The or that's how Ginny would describe it.
Hermione came out looking like she belonged on the cover of a magazine. The dress made her look like she belonged at a garden party in the Queens Property. The dress showed her soft skin and highlighted her eyes and cheekbones. Her honey hair popped out against the soft dark lace of the dress.
"That one! That's the one!" Ginny gasped. "Don't care what 'Mione has to say, she'll politely ask to borrow it."
"What do to think Hermione?" Holly laughed.
"Yes please." Hermione laughed.
"Alright." Once Hermione's dress had been wrapped and they had thanked Holly multiple times she shunned them outside.
"That was fun." Ginny sighed.
"Yeah." Hermione agreed.
Once they were concealed by trees they went back to the parking garage.
"Please have suits!" Hermione begged to cross her fingers.
"Please don't be dead," Ginny said crossing her fingers as well.
Both of the girls sighed when they saw Harry and Ron dipping pretzels in nacho cheese. With suits hanging on the back of their chairs.
"You guys took forever!" Ron yelled when he caught sight of them.
"We're were busy making sure we made up for the group's looks," Ginny yelled back as they drew closer.
"Please?" Harry begged. "Can we just go home? I'm so tired?"
"Oh, little Harry." Ginny sighed smiling taking his hand. "We can go home. C'mon guys, let's go." They all walked into a family restroom and went back to Grimwald place.
"Oh! HOME!" Harry gasped hugging a wall. "I am never going shopping again."
"You've been spending to much time with Ron," Ginny muttered.
"Not my fault." Harry sang back.
Laughing Ginny dropped her purse next to the table in the hall.
"I'm hungry," Hermione announced.
πππππππππππππππππ
"Ginny! Where the fuck are you?" Hermione screamed.
Opening her door slowly Ginny peaked her head out, squinting at the bright lights that filled the hall.
"I was sleeping." She said sleepily.
"Well, its noon and our reservations are for 6 o'clock, you should have been up two hours ago. But is knew you needed your sleep. And so did Harry." Hermione winked and Ginny gasped shutting the door. "You better be in my room five minutes from now or I will come in there!" Hermione shouted through the door before turning in her heel and heading back to her room.
"You have to leave," Hermione said gently to Ron once she has the door closed.
"Why?" Ron asked nestling deeper into the soft sheets of Hermione's bed.
"Because if you don't then Ginny will give me a ton of shit for making her get out of bed with Harry."
"Out of bed with Harry?" Ron questioned sitting up quickly.
"If it is any consolation she had clothes on when she opened the door."
" 'Mione, I love you, but not helping," Ron said getting out of the bed and pulling his robe on.
Hermione covered her mouth with her hand to hide her laughter as Ron kissed her head before storming out of the room to wait in Harry's room for when he came back.
Ginny walked in a few minutes later with all of her makeup, hair items, towels, and other assorted body products.
"You ready for complete fucking grow up!" Ginny screamed dropping all of her stuff in the middle of the floor.
"Hell yeah!" Hermione screamed back.
"I'm gonna go get the coffee, you get everything ready," Ginny said.
She left the room and a few minutes later came back with two bowl sized cups of coffee. She handing Hermione the heavily creamed and sugared one.
Hermione had placed all the lotion and waxing strips on the floor over a towel and all the makeup and hair stuff on the desk.
"Because I'm nice you can have the shower first." Hermione smiled handing Ginny her towels. "But use all the hot water and I will turn your hair green."
"Drink your coffee, please? You get angry when your body has a low level of caffeine in it." Ginny said as she walked backward out of the room.
Just as she had turned on the water shouting erupted from upstairs. Ginny rushed to the hall but Hermione stopped her.
"Don't worry, Ron is just yelling at Harry about you two sleeping together." Hermione smiled shoving Ginny back into the bathroom.
"Fuck," Ginny said when the door closed. "I'm never going to hear the end of this." She rolled her eyes and stepped in.
Lathering her hair with shampoo and humming her new favorite song as she danced around the shower. Dumping mounds of conditioner into her hair Ginny rubs it in gently making sure every inch of her thick smooth red hair was covered. Once out of the shower Ginny dried herself with a towel and pulled her bra and underwear back on. Wapping her hair in the other towel she pulled her soft robe over and walked out of the room.
Hermione. Who was already in there having showered in the boy's shower, so they could get ready together.
"Ok dry your hair and then let it hang," Hermione instructed drying her own hair with the spell.
Sitting down Ginny opened the wax strips grimacing at Hermione.
"You ever did this before?" She asked peeling one open.
"Nope," Hermione answered opening her own.
Placing it on their legs Ginny and Hermione looked at each other.
"On the count of three?" Hermione asked holding the bottom of the wax strip.
"One, two, three," Ginny said violently ripping the strip up and screaming.
"Holy shit! That hurt like a bitch!" Ginny screamed looking at the wax strip in shock.
"Oww." Hermione groaned rubbing her leg.
Each time the girls pulled a new strip up they made a high pitched screaming whining sound.
"We are never doing that again," Ginny said once they finished.
"Agreed," Hermione said nodding quickly. They both reached for lotion and moisturized their bodies.
"Hair then makeup, or makeup than hair?" Hermione questioned.
"Makeup then hair," Ginny answered.
"Then come here. I'm doing your's." Hermione said grabbing the desk chair and swirling it around. "Sit." She instructed.
Once finished Hermione had put a base layer of foundation on Ginny's face. Then a light coat of light brown eyeshadow. Brown eyeliner to highlight her eyes. One stroke of dark pink blush on her cheekbones. Then a matte lipstick that would match the dress almost exactly.
"Done!" Hermione said positively, turning the chair back around to face the mirror.
"Damn Hermione," Ginny said turning her head to examine her face from all angles. "My turn!" She said bouncing up.
Pushing Hermione down in the chair Ginny started her work. Ginny put on black liquid eyeliner with wings on top of the grey eyeshadow. Then she highlighted Hermione's cheekbones, nose and cupid's bow with silver liquid highlighter. She colored her lips with a shiny blush pink lipstick.
"Why are you a Quidditch player again?" Hermione asked her when she saw her face. "Because you could make a career out of this."
"Thank you very much, " Ginny blushed. "Now let me do your hair."
Ginny had styled Hermione's hair by taking the top half and putting it into a bun, then making a thick braid and wrapped it around the base of the bun once. The taking the bottom Ginny curled the ends slightly and then sprayed the whole thing with hairspray. But then with silver glitter that was only noticeable in the light.
"Seriously Gin. Quit Quidditch." Hermione laughed gently moving her hair around. "And now I get to do your hair.
Hermione took Ginny's long thick hair up into a bun. Then with the top layer of hair, she took a strand of hair and twisted it up until it was a loop of hair about an inch wide. Then pinned it down to the rest of the bun. She did this around the whole bun. Leaving an occasional hair out the framed her face that she curled to frame it. Then she took bobby pins with pearls on the ends and stuck them into random places in the bun.
"Love it!" Ginny gushed when Hermione had finished. "Now we get to put our dresses on!" She sang excitedly running over to the wardrobe and grabbed her dress.
Ginny paired her dress with nude high heels that had one strap across the toes that were about half an inch white and then another strap around the anklet that was the same width.
Hermioen too a pair of black high heeled ankle boots that went up to just about her ankle bone, and the top of the shoe came together with a string tied like shoelaces would be. The tow was open and squeezed three of Hermione's toes into the pointed tip.
Once ready both of the girls grabbed coats from the hall closet. Ginny had on a long creme colored jacket and Hermione had on a fake fur black jacket.
Hermione shot Ron a look as he put on his shoes.
"What?" He asked. "You two can take five hours getting ready but I can't take two minutes to put on my shoes?"
"You had five hours to put your shoes on." Hermione corrected placing her wand and keys into her pocket.
Apperating into the alley next to the restaurant the group walked out onto the sidewalk casually.
"One of these days we should get a car," Hermione muttered as they walked up to the cobblestone path. "It would make us a lot more normal." She finished holding her handbag while she searched for her reservation slip.
"But then we would have to learn how to drive a car," Ginny said back. "That would take ages. And none of us have time anyway."
"Oh you know, it would highly be– Hi!" Hermione started but then was interrupted by the hostess who walked towards the podium.
"Hello, do you have a reservation?" She asked clasping her hands and smiling tightly.
Soft piano music played and there were traces of conversation and the clinking of dishes floating through the air. The restaurant itself smelt of baking bread.
"Yes, Hermione Granger, table for four," Hermione answered smiling a toothy grin.
"Right this way." The waitress answered. "Kip here will take your coats." Gesturing toward the small teenage boy behind them the four took off their traveling coats and handed them to him.
Harry and Ron who had not yet seen the girls are just their dresses gave them a once over. Clearly impressed with their bodies and outfits.
Following the waitress, the group was led to the far left of the restaurant. There was a table with four chairs in the middle of the room and there was a slight view of the bar form one side. Ginny and Hermione sat with their back facing away from the bar the Harry and Ron sat across from their absolutely stunning girlfriends.
"I cannot believe we did all of that to end up here," Ron said astonished looking around. "Why did we dress up so nice. No one is even here!"
"Ronald." Hermione scolded lightly. "This is a classy place and if you took a second to look more closely you would see that the guests are placed where we can hardly see each other but there are still there. So please keep your voice down love." Hermione finished sweetly as the waitress came and set down four glasses of water.
They were in fancy wine shaped glasses.
"Anything to drink?" She asked pulling out her notepad.
"Just water is fine," Ginny answered.
"I'm all right with just water," Hermione said.
"Screw that," Ron muttered under his breath. "I will have a Coke please." He said louder for the waitress to hear.
She scribbled on her notepad and looked up at Harry.
"Umm... Sprite please." He said looking around anxiously.
"Those should be out shortly." The waitress said walking away.
"Look at Harry getting all nervous." Ginny cooed smiling.
"She kept looking at my scar," Harry said. "It threw me off."
"Don't bother with muggles love. Just ignore them, they probably think you were in some freak accident or something." Ginny said reassuring and squeezing his hand lightly.
"Or they think he works with Satan," Ron added snorting with laughter and flinching away when Hermione went to hit his arm.
"Don't listen to Ron either," Ginny added breathing out a laugh.
"Let's see what is on this menu." Hermione hummed opening the fancy leather cover notebook menu.
"Oh there is a garden salad that looks good," Ginny said looking away from her own menu and pointing to it on Hermione's.
"Please don't order a salad, Ginny," Harry said. "I have seen you eat an entire plate of hot wings. And I also know that you have only had coffee today so you are starving. Eat real food."
"Well, in that case, I will be ordering the turkey Havarti meant with avocado," Ginny said snapping the menu closed and smiling satisfied.
The food came, and Ginny and Hermione delicately devoured almost all of it.
"That was I good," Hermione said happily. "I love going out to eat."
"Me too," Ginny agreed. "But excuse me, I need to use the ladies room." Standing up Ginny walked away from the table. And Harry watched her walk away.
When walking past the bar Ginny took in the beauty of the restaurant. The shiny wood and glass feature golden walls and fancy red carpet. The fancy bar lighting, the drunk with platinum blond hair.
Wait a second. Upon closer inspection, Ginny noticed that the drunk was Malfoy.
"Oh he is not drinking," Ginny muttered to herself as she marched over to him angrily.
"I cannot believe my eyes." She said stopping in front of him. "You're drinking." She gasped.
"Grinngry!" Malfoy slurred happily. "Long time no see!"
"I know we did not end on good terms, but drinking? You went back to drinking, Draco? This- this is unbelievable."
"I have been drinking for a while now." Draco smiled happily. "I think my father used to come here too. Because I told them I was sLuscious and they just started handing me stuff." Marco slurred again sh
Slopping his whiskey from the glass down his hand.
"Okay, you've had enough of this," Ginny said reaching for the glass and pulling it away.
"Hey!" Malfoy yelled pushing the glass on the floor and grabbing her arm. "You can't do that!"
Hearing the glass shatter made everyone in the room look up. And when Harry saw a man grabbing Ginny he lost his cool. The. He noticed it was Malfoy. That just made him more enraged.
"Hold this." He muttered shoving a small light blue velvet box into Ron's hands. "And don't let Hermione see." Jumping out of his seat Harry rushed over.
"Get your hands off of her!" He yelled grabbing Malfoys arm and pushing him away. He took Ginny's arm he pushed her behind him.
"What do you think you're doing? Touching my girlfriend. You piece of filth." He said clenching his teeth.
Malfoy lunged at him grabbing for his throat. He was way off but drunk and not about to give up.
"No! Harry please!" Ginny yelled trying her best to put her hands between the two. But her dress was restricting.
Harry had grabbed Malfoy's arms but stumbled over on impact and hit a case filled with water glasses. Most of them fell to the floor and shattered.
Harry tried to push Malfoy off of him, but he fought back with wiry strength.
"If we weren't in a restaurant filled with muggles right now I would hex you." Harry spat pushing Malfoy off of him.
Ginny was still standing behind them begging them to stop. Tears were running from her eyes. And she was trying to grab Harry's shoulder and pull him away. But he kept shaking her off.
Ron and Hemrioen had rushed over and Ginny started ta o son while Hermione tried to discreetly push them apart with a spell and Ron went to grab Harry.
"Guys please stop. Don't hurt each other. He's weak Harry don't kill him. Just stop. Please." They wouldn't listen to Ginny's begging or they could not hear her.
The manager came rushing out, he took one look at the two grown men fighting and then the crushed glass on the floor before turning beet red.
"EVERYBODY STOP!" He screamed loudly. The two stopped fighting and the restaurant went silent.
But Ginny didn't stop talking soon enough.
"Harry! Don't hurt him, he's my friend." The last three words rang clear through the air and every single one of Ginny's features feel.
Harry shoved Malfoy away and looked at her shocked. Ron was clenching his fists trying to stay calm and Hermione just stood there before she whispered, "Fuck."
