Board the Train
Now, I know I said that I wouldn't do this but, it will be short I promise. First, I would like to promote the story: SPEECHLESS: Another Hinny Story. It's really great and you people should go check it out. And second I would like to apologize to @ERUPTINGGAMES2000 who told me to just update soon, and I have not. Sorry. And sorry to everyone else, keep reading, please. Love you all.
"Socks, quills, parchment, books-" Hermione was incoherently mumbling to herself. Digging through her trunk making sure she had everything.
Knocking on the door frame Ron looks at her concerned.
"'Mione, are you all right?"
"Fine, fine, she mumbles waving her hand at him not looking up from her school list.
"You're not fine, " Ron replies dropping down next to her.
"Yes, I am, Ron!" She snaps back.
Ron grabs her hands with his and pushes them down. Breathing heavily Hermione looks up at him.
"What! What Ron?" Tears brimming her eyes Hermione tries to calm her rattling breath.
"'Mione, what happened?" Ron askes even gentler. Than before.
"We're leaving today."
"Yeah, you're going to Hogwarts. I don't understand why that should make you cry?"
"Because " Hermione starts her voice breaking. "Because, you won't be there, and neither will Harry. It's like starting my life with the two most important people in it. I can't do Ron!" She sobs.
Wrapping his arms around her crumpled figure she continues sobbing into his chest.
"Shhh. Deep breathes love. Just breathe. I'm right here." Ron soothes Hermione rubbing her back and running his fingers through her hair.
"'Mione, it's not like we'll be a million miles away. I will write to you every day of that's what it takes. I love you with most of my heart."
"Most?" Hermione asked looking up.
"Someone had to love my sorry excuse for a normal family." Ron chuckles, "but the rest is all for you." Ron smiles and kisses her tear streaked cheeks.
Laughing Hermione takes a shaky breath and turns to sit in Ron's lap.
"You promise?" She askes gazing out the window.
"What?"
"To write. Every day."
"I promise." He replies with a firm nod.
"You're going to forget." Hermione laughs through a groan.
"I will not!" Ron protests loudly.
"Yes, you will. But I'll love you anyway."
Spinning around Hermione presses and gentle kiss on Ron's lips. As if to ask if it's ok to kiss him.
In response, Ron smashes his lips against hers.
Harry had been walking around the woods behind the Burrow, kicking at rocks and chewing the inside of his cheek.
Everyone had noticed he was quiet. More than usual. The Weasleys blamed his PTSD. Only four people knew why he was really upset. Ron found the failed attempts of his letter to Ginny while he was searching for the book he hid from Hermione. He told Hermione. Ginny had shredded the letter in her anger after they left on their little adventure.
And Draco.
After Hogesmade Harry didn't trust Malfoy alone n his home. So it was almost impossible to not know. Harry spent a lot of his time in the drawing room asking for advice from his Godfather burnt crest on the thick curtain.
So Malfoy being Malfoy eavesdropped. Thinking Harry was stress talking. I'm going to say now that Malfoy has no intentions of attacking Harry or gathering information on the famed golden trio. That was never his intention.
Harry spent most of his time at Grimwald place locking himself in the kitchen, talking to Sirus, or sleeping in the room Hermione and Ginny slept in.
Kreacher had grown weak and distant from Harry after they were forced to leave Grimwald place. Being no better at cooking than Ron, Harry relied on the minute meals from the Market.
Harry usually just brought Draco meals from fast food places and a salad. Even if Draco hated it. Harry always told himself that it was better than what he got at the Dursleys.
The only reason he was at the Burrow today was to see Hermione and Ginny off to Hogwarts. Highly doubting that he was going to see Ginny without being met with a glare of fire Harry went outside. In hopes to avoid Hermione and Ron snogging their last snogs for quote some time.
Harry internally hating himself for not being a good boyfriend. He can save the whole wizarding world no problem. But when it comes to relationships Harry is less graceful than Neville on a staircase. Building up his courage. Harry walks into the burrow searching for Ginny.
Mr. Weasly is sitting at the kitchen table reading the daily prophet lost in thought. He looks up startled when Harry walks drawing his wand.
"Oh sorry, Harry." He chuckles looking down at his wand awkwardly. "Force of habit."
"Its fine, sir. Umm... Do you know where George is?"
"Yes. He's in the sitting room."
"Thank you."
Walking into the sitting room Harry looks at and shuffles his feet uncomfortably. Harry still hasn't forgiven himself with what happened at Hogwarts during the war.
"Er.Hey George." Harry says uncomfortably.
"Oh hey, Harry."
"I'm is there any change that-"
"I know where Ginny is." George finishes for him. "As a matter of fact Harry, I do."
"Could you tell me?" Harry askes looking up desperately.
"She just stormed out of here, " says George steps with his fingers. "Complaining about needing fresh air. Saying she can't stand anyone in this house right now."
Harry had started to walk towards the door but stopped when George finished.
"You were still in the woods behind the house when she left. So you're free to go." Flicking his fingers he waves Harry away.
"Right...er. Thanks, George." Harry says taking his leave.
Walking out the front Harry follows the cobblestone path until there is a path of matted grass among the overgrown weeds. Heading straight for the cluster of aspen trees a couple of hundred yards away from the house. It's not hard to spot her flaming hair inside the white and light green of the trees.
Creeping up towards her Harry smiles when he hears her singing.
"When the days get short, and night gets a little bit frozen. We hold each other." Her voice cracks and her body rakes with sobs.
Stopping midway in his tracks Harry freezes. Not knowing what to do he continues slowly.
Ginny is sitting on a rock, resting her forehead on her knee and her other leg is hanging off the rock.
Her mustard yellow long-sleeved belly shirt clings to her just below her ribs and dark blue denim high waisted skirt with buttons in the front. Harry has to silence his gasp. It always astonished him that someone so beautiful could sometimes be so sad.
Tentatively he walks over and sits next to her. Snaking his arms around her shoulders. She gasps when she feels someone touch her. She turns her head so her temple is resting on her knee. She's meant with a pair of bright green eyes filled with worry. She gives up he stubbornness and leans into his embrace.
Harry lets her sob and soaks his shirt with her tears never letting go. The tears stop and her breath finally evens out. She looks at Harry with her red-rimmed eyes.
"You came back." She squeezes out.
"I'll always come back."
"You could just not leave."
"Ginny, I'm Harry Potter, someone has to keep this world running."
Not even laughing at his futile joke, Ginny looks Harry dead in the eye.
"It's my turn." She says.
"What."
"I'm leaving, you're staying."
"Ok," Harry says, biting the inside of his lip trying to hide the hurt from his face.
"But something will be different this time." Ginny's voice wavers as she maintains eye contact. "I will have the love of my life to be home to. And I will know that he is a boyfriend and he is there and forever will be for me. I love you, Harry Potter. Never leave again."
"Never." Tears brimming her eyes Harry cups her face and wipe them away from her cheeks biting back his own cries.
It wasn't their first kiss. But aside from a few moments in their life. This was the most passionate kiss they had ever had.
Wrapped in each other's arms Harry runs his hands through her loose wavy and pulls her closer. Ginny runs her hands all over his back and shoulders and the bottom of his head. Lips never leaving one another they share what must have been the kiss that sealed their love. It sealed the deal. It's the most powerful kiss. They probably would have never broken apart if it wasn't for the shrill voice of Molly Weasley booming put across the yard for all of England to hear.
"Ginevra Weasley the train leaves in thirty minutes! If you are not in this house with your trunk within the next five minutes so help me I will send the most embarrassing howler to you. WORSE THAN THE ONE RON HAD WHEN HE STOLE THAT GOD FORSAKEN CAR!"
Breaking away from Harry and wiping her mouth. Ginny runs towards the house and Harry apparates away to make sure Malfoy didn't burn down his house and take him to the station.
"Thought you weren't coming to pick me up, Potter."
"Shut up. Grab your trunk and put your blindfold on."
"Well, you're in a pleasant mood."
"I was until I had to speak to you."
"Just get me out of this place."
Apperating to the same the Zoo Harry went to when he was 11 Harry drops Malfoys hand and leaves without another word.
Arriving back at the Burrow Harry meets everyone in the kitchen.
"Hey, where'd you vanish to?" Ron askes Harry when he enters the kitchen.
"Oh, I had to go to Grimwald place and take care of something." He answers making vigorous eye contact at Ron willing him to understand and not do or say anything stupid.
"Oh, cool." He sighed, over exaggerating his oh.
"Ok let's go." Mr. Weasly claps his hands together and gestures to the car. One that doesn't fly.
It wouldn't be a Weasley trip to Kings Cross if there weren't five minutes until the train left when they pulled into the station.
"Alright, go go go!" Mrs. Weasly directs the four children into the station.
Ron and Harry, Hermione, Ginny, and Mr. And Mrs. Weasley walk through the platform.
With their trunk loaded onto the train, all that's left is goodbyes. The hardest part.
Turning Hermione gives Mr. Weasly a firm handshake, then laughing he gives him a hug. She gives Mrs. Weasly two kisses on the cheek. Eyes watering by the time she reaches Harry, she kisses him on the cheek and pulls him into a long hug. It's like going to school without your highly overprotective brother for the first time. She pulls away eyes glistening and a fresh tear streak down her left cheek.
"Hey, Granger." Harry says holding her shoulders, "You and I both know that I'm not going anywhere. Smile. See you later 'Mione."
"Bye Harry, love you see you at Christmas."
"Love you too 'Mione."
Practically running into Ron's arms she sobs once. He holds her for a long time. When they finally pull away she has tears running down her cheeks.
"Hey, don't cry. With Harry and me away you won't have anyone slowing you down when you decide to study endlessly. " Ron jokes pulling her into one final hug.
Hermione laughs through her tears and kisses him softly before beckoning Ginny to board the train with her.
Ginny was resting in her mother's arms follows. She sprints back to Harry and kisses him hard. For three seconds. Then she sprints back onto the train, before anyone but Hermione can stop her.
Ron and Auther look at Harry in disbelief, Molly just looks between Harry and Ginny and holds her heart. Before Ron and wring Harry the girls are hanging out the window waving.
"Promise to write!?" Hermione calls at Ron over the hissing steam.
"Every day." He yells back.
Ginny blows kisses to everyone, including Harry, but then she winks.
The train pulls out and rounds the corner. Both Harry and Ron are staring at the spot they each last say the training long after its gone.
When Hermione is pulling out their uniforms to change before the feast a roll of paper falls from Hermione's tie. She picks it up and written in it is five words. In Ron's messy scrawl.
A promise is a promise

You people better be happy with this chapter. I have been in the car for 10 hours on the road. Wrote all of this while on the road, and now I have a massive headache. I thought I would sprinkle in some more romance and you see more of Draco. I may have a bit of a Tim Felton obsession. Thanks, so much for reading. Love everyone single one of you. Byyyyyye. See you next chapter.
