Akiyo stared at her for a while,surprised. Akahana pulled away then stood up,starting to walk to their room. Her head hung low with her hand covering her eyes,small tears starting to form and small sniffles were heard. She was about to twist the door knob open,but Akiyo grabbed her other hand from behind. "Stop it." He grumbled darkly. Akahana froze,before slowly turning at him. He had his eyes narrowed,his grip on her hand getting tighter. "Tell me the whole story…" He mumbled,before grabbing the door knob and twisting it,pushing the door open and dragging her in the room. Akahana followed,getting dragged as Akiyo sat on the bed and pulled her down so she can sit beside him.

"Spill it out or I'll force you to." He said plainly. Akahana went silent for a while,before sighing.

"I was still 10. Mom and dad died right in front of me because of robbers who barged in our house. Dad tried to make us run and hold them back,but we both saw four people beat him with baseball bats and shoot him right in the head with a pistol.

I was traumatized by it. But we had to run off and mourn later because we have to live. But they caught up,and mom died in an attempt to save me. Then the police came before they killed me so I stayed alive." She mumbled,standing up and going to the airbed—which was beside his bed— then laid down. "Because of that,I never spoke any word for almost 4 years. Other nice people who saw me in the hospital donated money so I can pay the hospital taxes,and Maka—my neighbor before—lend a hand and made me stay in her and Soul's apartment. I heard about the academy from them so I went and enrolled."

Akiyo blinked,sighing. He never had a clue that she went through all of that. Add up the fact that he hated her in the real world before.

"But no one made friends with me. I never made partners because my soul doesn't match them. Mine was more weaker than theirs. I can still handle it,but one of the seniors last year made fun of me about my past. So when I got home,I decided to just use the kitchen knife and try slitting my own throat off."

Akahana took her blanket then placed it on her,sighing. Akiyo stayed sitting,looking down at her. "Then… How did you get saved ?" He asked. Akahana scratched her head. "Soul. He saw me almost dead on the kitchen floor,so he went and quickly brought me to the hospital."

Akiyo paused for a while,watching her shift around and turn her back at him. Akahana raised the blanket up to her face,just to make sure he won't see the tears silently streaming from her eyes. "T-that's all… G-good night…" She mumbled.

"She's crying."

"Hey… Two weeks ago,you said that you want to be best friends with me,right ?"

Akiyo slightly chuckled,grabbing the blanket and throwing it away. Akahana gasped,startled. She tried to hide the way she wiped her tears,but it failed. Akiyo can clearly see it.

"Y-yeah… What about it ?"

She turned to him,giving a fake smile. Akiyo sighed happily,shaking his head slightly. He stood up then picked her up,startling her. Akiyo placed her on the bed,then laid down beside her. "I'll remove the airbed tomorrow. This room lacks free space and it makes me feel sick." He shrugged,taking the blanket. Akahana looked at him,startled. "Wha…" She mumbled,confused.

Akiyo laughed. "You have no friends ? Let me re-phrase that." He fixed the blanket on them both,then placed his hands behind his head. "Yeah,you don't. But I want to inform you that I,Akiyo Hoshi,is now officially your best friend."

Akahana's eyes shot wide,staring at him. Akiyo had his eyes closed,his face facing the ceiling upwards. But soon,he opened it,sitting up. "Oh. I forgot." He bent sidewards then grabbed her large teddy bear from the airbed,then gave it at her. "You can't sleep without this. There ya go." He shrugged,laying back down and turning his back at her. "Good night." He said,before going to sleep. Akahana blinked,holding the teddy bear. Soon,she smiled,hugging the teddy bear tightly and turning her back at him also,fixing the blanket and closing her eyes.

"Yeah… Good night,Akiyo."
