Darkness in Wonderland II

I smiled at Akio, opening up a dark portal and holding out my hand. She looked up at me with uncertainty.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust me, either.

I raised an eyebrow at her, searching her eyes. Something seemed to click as she grasped my hand, using the other to hold onto the chair. She stood up, her legs shaking. I leaned forward, my lips against her ear.

"Hey, it's okay," I whispered. I heard her heart pounding as her face flushed. She looked down, avoiding my gaze. I frowned.

Oh, sure, now she's all shy, but doesn't give a fuck when she kisses Riku. Angry, I swiftly used my leg to push her forward with enough force that she landed inside the dark portal. Suddenly feeling guilty, I caught her just before she hit the floor of the dark portal. I wrapped my arms around her, just beneath her chest.

"Don't mean to rush you, but we don't have all day," I said, purposely blowing air in her ear. I dropped her, just to get back at her for all the stuff she did with Riku. I can't help but get mad at her. It really did hurt when she flirted with him. As if she didn't have a care in the world while making out with him. She has to have some sort of punishment before I make her mine.

Jeez. I'm starting to sound like a real yandere, aren't I?

"Move it!" I yelled, walking ahead of her. I didn't look back, but I heard her groan as she got back up. My face got heated as thoughts filled my mind, but I just kept walking.

Don't think like that, dammit!

We were slowly falling down a rabbit hole, round walls around us. I looked over to see Akio flip in the air. She stared in amazement as a room came into view below us. A ticking clock was the only thing I heard as we land on the red-checkered floor. The furniture around us was flattened against the wall and floor, and I raised an eyebrow.

This world sure is a wonder.

Suddenly, a white rabbit wearing a tiny suit and holding a clock scampered past us.

"Oh, my fur and whiskers! I'm late! I'm late! I'm late!" the rabbit yelled, not slowing down to even acknowledge our presence. "Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! I'm here, I should be there!" The fur ball ran down a hallway, disappearing around the corner.

Ugh. So annoying.

"Yeah, I'm gonna kill that rabbit," said, summoning my Keyblade. Akio laughed, and I glanced over at her. She shook her head, smiling at me, and I felt something flutter in my chest.

Weird.

I covered it up with a scowl, walking down the hallway. She followed me, and we ended up at a door. I opened it to see a smaller door, and an even smaller door was behind it! I crouched down, just barely fitting through the tight squeeze. I entered a room that was normal size. It had a bed, a round table with two bottles on it, chair, and a fireplace. I noticed an even smaller door, huffing in response.

No way we were going to fit through that one.

I heard a noise behind me, and turned around to see Akio was stuck. I smirked at her, and she looked up at me with a glare.

"A little help?" Akio asked.

"Naw," I replied. "It's cute watching you struggle." She rolled her eyes, blushing all the same. Finally figuring out that she had to turn sideways, she crawled into the room, rubbing her side. She looked around the room, taking in everything, before looking at me with those stunning, gray eyes.

"So, what are we doing here? This place feels familiar," Akio said.

Heck if I know! I was just told to watch over her. Really, it's so I can get close to Akio. Better make up an excuse.

"Your power, remember?" I asked, rolling my eyes. I smirked at my little joke. "Oh, wait. You don't." Akio looked at me with confusion, and I dead panned. "To travel in people's memories." She blinked, about to say something, but someone interrupted her.

A dog, duck, and boy ran into the room. Once again, they didn't acknowledge our presence and ran straight to the tiny door. The dog glanced our way for a split second before turning away, shaking his snout.

Nice to see you, too, Goofy.

"How did he get so small?" Sora asked, crouching down. He looked at the small door, confused.

"No, you're simply too big," a voice said. I looked around their heads to see the doorknob...yawning? Sora, Donald, and Goofy all leaned back in surprise.

"It talks!" Donald quacked. I rolled my eyes at his "astounding observation." No dip, Sherlock. The door talks, as if that was the weirdest thing ever. He's a talking duck for crying out loud!

"They are so stupid," I muttered. "Can we kill him already?"

"It's a memory," Akio replied, shaking her head. Feeling like an idiot, I looked at her straight on with my golden eyes staring into her soul. She met my gaze, seeming to mentally stumble over her thoughts. "We didn't time travel. That would be way too complicated to the plot."

(Too late XP)

My eyes widened a fraction in surprise. I laughed to myself, feeling like a bigger dunce. Luckily, she doesn't know about that whole part of her life.

"Can we at least skip this part?" I asked, covering up my ignorance with annoyance. "We need need to see how this guy fights so we can beat him in the real world."

"Uh, sure," Akio said uncertainly. She looked away from me. Can she even do that? Akio took in a deep breath, concentrating. Or, at least, it looked like she was. Really, it seemed like she was just standing there, doing nothing.

"Today, thanks," I said, shifting closer to her. I heard her huff, glaring at me out the corner of her eye. I smirked in return when the room suddenly became blurry. Everything around us was changing, time going faster. I grabbed Akio's shoulder, squeezing my eyes shut. I leaned against her, trying to block out the world around me. It was making my head spin.

I heard voices, wincing at the sound of a cranky lady yelling. I opened my eyes to see everything had stopped, and we were outside. Well, it seemed like we were. Tall green hedges were around us, and the sky looked like a ceiling that was painted to resemble the actual sky and white clouds.

A court was set up, and a fat lady wearing a black and red dress with hearts on it was sitting in the spot where the judge usually is. She had a crown on her head. The white rabbit from before was next to her, fiddling with his watch. Sora seemed to be on trial at the moment, Donald and Goofy on the side. Soldiers that were actually cards stood guard, watching over the queen and someone in a golden cage.

It was a girl.

She had blonde hair and was wearing a baby blue dress and a white apron over it. Her big, blue eyes looked around as she gripped the cage bars. She seemed close to tears, but I had no idea why. Sora stared at the queen in disbelief she slammed her fist down.

"Seize them at once!" the drama queen yelled. Suddenly, all the stuff for the courtroom disappeared in a puff of smoke. The queen was still on her throne, looking down at the others. A small tower appeared in the center of the court yard. A card soldier ran over to the small tower, pulling on a lever sticking out of it. A red curtain dropped over the golden cage with girl inside, and the cage went upward, out of reach.

The queen pointed at the three heroes, commanding her soldiers to attack. Akio and I watched, amused, as the cards all jumped for them. The trio easily dodged their dog pile, and all the cards flattened themselves. I heard Akio laugh, her attention focused on the soldiers failing at their job. I smiled, putting my arm around her shoulder.

I felt her tense up, but I pretended I didn't notice. Instead, I pointed over to the queen, who was losing her shit.

"Come on!" the royal pain yelled. "Attack! Work together! And don't let them touch that lever!" Akio and I laughed together, and looked at her. She seemed...I don't know...happy. That made me smile more.

Akio giggled as Sora, Donald, and Goofy sliced up the card soldiers, but noticed my eyes linger on her. She looked up at me, a smile still on her lips. She raised an eyebrow, and I just nodded my head. Sometimes, words aren't really necessary.

Besides, it's not like I could find the right words to say something.

"If she really wanted to stop them, she could've just sat on them," I said, shaking my head as Sora lowered the cage. Donald and Goofy removed the red curtain to see that the girl had disappeared. Akio giggled some more before joining in the roast session.

"One look from her is deadly enough," Akio said. I rolled my eyes at her, giving her a slight smirk.

"C'mon, let's go," I said, opening a dark portal. Together, we entered the darkness.
