"Tch," Ineko spits as she kicks a pebble on the cobbled street. She hates her new mission. This will only disappoint Dazai an Oda even more, and they are her only friends she's ever had.
"What's Boss playing at," she growls to herself and trudges down the street, no longer admiring the falsely woven prettiness. She eyes the café that she saw Chuuya sitting in; that would make it the last time she saw him before he left, and before her life goes downhill.
She will either kill Ango, or she will get killed herself.
"Fuck," she growls and walks off in a taut way, ready to snap. "What do I do, 'gator?" She tilts her chin up to the sky, searching for the ghost of her ship for answers.
"I'm sure the duo will understand," she tries to convince herself as she roughly pinches her arm; an anxious sign. Ineko walks and walks, until she doesn't know how long she has been in her sickening reverie.
She walks into a tall building, and rides the elevator all the way up to the roof. Hopefully she can clear her thoughts there, and leave behind indecisions that will get swept away in the cold wind.
The door to the roof is already ajar- and Ineko smells danger. She loves the sickly smell, and so she swipes we lips with a long pink tongue, her eyes sparkling wickedly as she cautiously approaches the door, a slim finger brushing against the hilt of her cutlass.
Step by step, she inches past the door and silently inhales the fresh breeze, eyeing her surroundings- a tall hotel, several other tall buildings and a man clad in black, sitting before her, looking through a long rifle.
Sniper.
She stares; who is he trying to kill? Ineko stares as he signals something to a different roof; where something glints dangerously. Her presence still unknown, she stares into the general direction of where the gun is pointing to.
A hotel?
Ineko narrows her eyes, trying to make out the figure pacing about in the top hotel room. Her eyes widen; he seems familiar, and she's taking no chances if it is someone she knows.
Before the man can pull the trigger, the sound of a sword sliding out of its sheath fills the deathly silent air, causing the man to spin around in panic and shoots at her. She ducks out of range just in time, still hobbling since she still hasn't recovered from the tire lifting that Chuuya forced her to do.
The man tries to signal something, but she throws her cutlass at him, severing his hand. His wail pierces the air, but Ineko's already panicking as the other person on the other roof shoots at Odasaku. She tackles the man in front of her but misjudges, sending both of them off the top of the roof.
Ineko flings her hand out and stops her fall but she cries out as she feels her shoulder dislocate. She sobs in pain, tears blurring her vision as she vaguely sees the man fall, screaming and screaming until blood decorates the pavement.
She hangs there, only one hand that keeps her alive, scraped fingers bloody- making the grip hard to keep. Her dislocated shoulder is certainly not helping. Ineko cries out, gritting her teeth as she puts extreme pressure onto her arm and swings herself back onto the roof to safety. As she crouches and whimpers, she spares a glance into Oda's direction, but she can't see him no more.
"Holy shit," she grits, and stumbles down the several flight of stairs. She can't run anymore- not with her shoulder like that.
She stumbles onto the streets, shoving people away with her good shoulder, and trudges towards the hotel. Ineko tries to pop her shoulder back into place, but all she succeeds in doing is grinding the bones together and making it even more jarringly painful.
Everything happened so fast, and Ineko has a hard time trying to remember what happened. She only knows that adrenaline is what kept her alive.
She hobbles along the street and cries out in relief when she sees Dazai.
"Odasaku-" she begins, but Dazai cuts her off.
"I know. I'm going to him right now," he says and Ineko nods before attempting to say that Ango is suspicious.
"Ango-"
"-is a traitor. Watch your back," Dazai snarls; but Ineko knows the anger is directed at himself, not her. He looks at her shoulder, "and you better get that treated."
She scowls and tries to retort but Dazai cruelly punches it. "Get help, fucking idiot, or I'll make it worse."
And so Ineko watches him walk away, her brow furrowing as she stands there. Dazai has lost it, and it would seem as if she's not the only one who smells impending danger.
Ineko snarls a couple of incoherent words before reluctantly walking back towards the mafia base, twitching fingers going numb as she digs her hand into her shoulder.
She can only hope that she'll recover in time, and fucking devour everything that dares threaten her only friends.
