(6) A Vision For The Future

Yeonjun was woken up by coughing sounds from beside him.

When he opened his eyes, Beomgyu was coming from the restroom. The tired looking boy slowly walked back go the bed, laying down again next to Yeonjun.

"Maybe the princess has something for you Gyu."

"Maybe...", he replied.

"You'll get better. Get some more sleep, I'm going to check on the others."

A number of hours had went by in the castle.

By now, the boys had mostly went to bed.

After a moment to regain himself, Seonwoo told the boys exactly what happened in his vision.

Needless to say, Kai had not yet slept a single moment.

When Yeonjun entered the room containing Taehyun, Kai, Jungwon, and Jay, he saw said boy pacing in between the beds.

"Kai, why are you awake?"

Kai turned to him.

"Because...I can't stop thinking about Seonwoo's vision."

Yeonjun came in and sat in a chair in the room.

"We all know that what Seonwoo sees in his visions always comes true.", Kai said.

"It does. But perhaps we can change it?"

"Yeonjun you know we can't. That's why I'm worried. In Seonwoo's vision, I said Jungwon was all I had. So...what happened to you guys?"

Yeonjun looked up at Kai.

He hadn't thought about that.

Based on what Seonwoo saw, it was just Kai and Jungwon. So where was everyone else?

"You're right."

"So what does it mean?", Kai asked.

"I have no idea."

The door to the room opened, and Heeseung entered.

"Heeseung, you're awake too?", Yeonjun said.

"Guys. Seonwoo just had another vision.", Heeseung said quietly.

Yeonjun and Kai took one look at each other before following him from the room.

They went next door to the room with Seonwoo, Sunghoon, and Jake.

Seonwoo was sitting up on the edge of the bed, arms tightly hugging himself.

Heeseung joined him, putting his own arms around Seonwoo.

"It's okay baby. My gosh you're cold.", Heeseung told him.

Kai stood in front of Seonwoo.

The boy faced Kai, a look of not fear but.....sadness?

"Seonwoo. What happened in your vision?"

Seonwoo held onto Heeseung, staring at Kai.

"I'm sorry.", he said.

"For what?"

"For your future. If I could change it, I would."

"Seonwoo what are you talking about?", Yeonjun asked.

"I saw a future where...", he said, pausing.

"Tell me.", Kai said.

"Where Kai sacrifices himself in exchange for Jungwon's life and our freedom from the darkness."

The room went completely silent.

All Kai could do was turn around and stare out the window of the room.

Yeonjun spoke up first.

"So in the end...we lose him?"

"I believe so.", Seonwoo replied.

"Then so be it.", Kai said.

They all looked at him.

"If I am to die. Then so be it. As long as you all survive."

"But Kai...we won't get you back this time.", Yeonjun said.

"I know. This will be it. But I am willing to make this count. If I am sacrificing my life...I am taking the woman responsible down with me. Once and for all."

--------------------------------------------------------

"Oh hell no!", Jay yelled.

"It's not as bad as it seems Jay.", Princess Orami said.

"The hell it isn't! Guys! Come hear what she just told me!"

All the boys came running downstairs.

Everyone had woken up a few hours prior. Jay was talking with Princess Orami when she revealed some quite shocking information to him.

"What is it?", Soobin asked.

"Princess, tell them.", Jay said.

"I was explaining to him that Lily is a powerful woman. But she's not just any woman. She's a goddess. In particular, goddess of the darkness."

"So all of our powers stem from dark goddess powers?", Heeseung asked.

"Yes, they do."

"But wait, she's goddess of the darkness, and you're Princess of the Darkness...", Jungwon said.

"That is true."

"Princess...is Lily..."

"The former queen and my mother? You would be correct."

"Well time to jump off of this castle.", Taehyun said.

"You stay here.", Kai said sternly.

"My god...so that's why you're alone here.", Beomgyu said.

"Indeed. I couldn't have her doing this on my watch. I tried to stop her from her attempt at taking over, but she threatened me."

"Her own daughter...", Yeonjun said.

The group heard a screeching sound above them.

The sounds of giant wings flapping directed them to the skylight.

The underside of a winged creature could be seen flying over the castle.

"There's your dragon Niki.", Yeonjun said.

"Cool."

The boys all ran outside.

Princess Orami and Penny followed.

The skin and bones dragon perched itself in front of the castle.

Seeing all the boys come outside, it prepared to attack.

"Powers ready?", Heeseung asked them.

"Yeah.", they all replied.

"Let's do this."

The dragon breathed a beam of fire at the boys.

It was repelled by a shield of ice formed by Sunghoon.

"Kai, let's do it.", Niki said.

"Do what?"

"Storm cloud."

Kai smiled.

"Don't have to ask me twice.  Go!"

Niki ran forward as Kai lifted his hands.

His eyes turned a bright green as a thick cloud of black smoke was produced from his hands.

Niki was in front of the group, and pointed at the cloud with his right hand, as it began to rumble above the dragon.

The dragon was angrily roaring at the boys.

Yeonjun and Heeseung had used their powers to form traps of rose vines around the dragons legs.

The storm cloud formed by Niki and Kai produced none other than lightning, which struck the dragon.

It roared in pain as the lighting hit its back, and burned one of its wings.

Taehyun took the opportunity to add insult to injury and made the cloud produce rain.

Jungwon and Soobin had an idea.

"Hey Wonie, let's do something cool."

"I already know what it is."

Soobin spun around, forming a winding tornado around himself.

Jungwon blasted it with fire, creating a swirl of flames that separated from Soobin and flew into the dragons face.

The dragon reared back when the flames hit it.

All the while Penny was barking excitedly.

MaiMai and the mystery dog not so much, as they were terrified.

The boys continued to fight the dragon.

At some point, Yeonjun was under the dragon, using his powers to form branches to hold it down.

But the dragon somehow got free from its bindings.

Seeing Yeonjun under it, the dragon whipped its head under itself.

It's teeth came just one inch in front of Yeonjun before-

"Oh that's so cool.", Beomgyu said.

Yeonjun opened the eyes he didn't realize he closed and saw the dragons open mouth directly in front of him.

Looking to the side, he saw Seonwoo holding out a hand to the dragon.

Once again, he had stopped time.

"Whoa...", Yeonjun said.

"Guys do something. I don't know how long I can hold this.", Seonwoo said, his arm shaking.

Yeonjun quickly ran from under the dragon.

He and Heeseung once again took this chance to use their powers to hold the dragon down.

Seonwoo was struggling to hold the dragon still.

"Okay, let go!", Jay yelled.

Seonwoo released the dragon.

It roared in anger, and set its sights on Seonwoo.

"Hey, hey, look I did what I had to.", Seonwoo said.

The dragon roared at him.

Beomgyu came up next to Seonwoo.

The dragon hopped into the air, flying up before barreling back down towards them.

"Seonwoo move, I got this."

"Gyu-"

"Move!"

Seonwoo quickly ran away as the dragon barreled down.

Beomgyu put his hands up.

The dragons mouth came down closer and closer.

Right as it reached Beomgyu, he used his hands to grab it by the mouth and hold its mouth open.

The others watched on in amazement as Beomgyu pulled his arms apart, subsequently using his strength to separate the jaw of the dragon.

The beast fell to the side, roaring again in pain.

Seonwoo felt another vision coming on as the boys went to go finish the dragon off.

He closed his eyes to see it, feeling an extremely sharp pain in his chest.

The vision showed Taehyun.

He was standing by himself in a seemingly empty green field.

He had a rose and a tulip in his hands.

"You did a good job.", he said, "Amazing job. And you did it all for us."

He put the flowers down on what Seonwoo could now see was the closed door of a marble building structure.

"I'm so sorry I can't stay longer. I have to go to school. But I promise I will visit every day."

Taehyun started to walk away.

He turned back one more time.

"You're the best hyung I could have ever asked for."

Seonwoo's vision showed him the marble structure.

In Korean writing, a name was engraved on the door.

Seonwoo opened his eyes.

As he did, the boys were putting the final blows on the dragon.

Princess Orami saw Seonwoo standing there.

"Seonwoo?", she asked.

He turned to her.

"I had a feeling he wouldn't let Kai sacrifice himself."

"Who?"

Seonwoo looked back at the boys fighting. He held a hand to his chest.

As the dragon was dealt its final blow, the boys celebrated.

Soobin high fived Yeonjun, pulling him in for a hug.

Seonwoo remembered the name on the structure.

"Choi Yeonjun."
