Strange Meeting****

Usually in any school or educational platform, the students are practically divided into groups like the jocks, goths, introverts, nerds etc. It's like an unshakeable balance that makes the school whole and disrupting this balance means shaking the pillars of the school. Imagine the jocks, goths, nerd, introverts coming together as one...this is a kind of atmosphere that is referred to as STRANGE.

It feels really awesome to finally wake up on one's own bed after such a long time. I wished it wasn't a weekday, then I would have slept and played video games all day.

I sluggishly paved my way to the bathroom and got a quick shower. On coming out of the bathroom, I saw Sophie sitting on my bed in her pink princess dress and a wand in her hands.

"hurry!! Get ready quickly so we can go to school together" Sophie said with a rather serious expression.

"why would you want to go to school with me" I inquired.

"I am coming with you so I can protect you and cast a spells on anyone who tries to take you away from me" she replied.

Isn't she the cutest angel ever...

"I'm lucky to have a sister like you Sophie but wouldn't you go to school? You know that you can always cast a protective spell me so no one can harm me" I replied trying to convince her not to go with me.

"okay then" she flipped her wand and said "Abraarcaar... Darbra. Now you are protected" then she ran out of my room.

"hey dear, I got you a new cell phone so I can reach you anytime" dad said handing me the cell phone.

"thanks dad" I said giving him a big hug.

"I will be taking you to school and your dad will be bringing you back and you don't need to argue about this arrangement because it's for your safety" my mom suggested.

I knew it will be a fruitless effort arguing with her on this issue and besides I knew she was only being a worried and caring mom so I just went with the flow.

As walked through the halls in school, I felt the eyes of everyone steering at me as if I was a yummy chocolate birthday cake waiting to be devoured.

As if that wasn't enough, I came face to face with the schools information carrier and also an aspiring journalist Tess Walters.

"Hey Stacey, it's a known truth that you and some other of our school mates were abducted for more than three weeks now, so would you you be kind enough to share your experience with everyone" she asked while her partner Jake wouldn't remove the video camera from my face.

I rolled my eyes at her feeling perturbed by her continuous questioning. I didn't know how to get away from this nosy journalist.

Tess was known to get whatever information she wanted if she put her mind to it and I am starting to think she has become rather too interested in our case. I will have to be careful and observant so I don't get into trouble.

I tried to flinch her questions but she wasn't letting me of so easily.

"hey Acey, I was worried sick about you. Without you around, I felt like a part of me was ripped off. You will have to tell me everything" Skye said as she practically dragged me away.

Skye was my saving grace today but now I will have to tell her everything. She was the only friend I could trust with any secret.

I narrated all that happened to us without leaving anything unsaid to Skye. Initially she was dumbfounded but to my greatest surprise, she lit up with excitement. " I can't believe my bestie has supernatural powers.  OMG!!! This is a great news. I've always wanted super powers or know someone who does and now my dream has finally come true.

Actually I didn't expect her to be this excited about any of this but come to think of it, it's actually better that she didn't freak out.

After three hours of endless and boring classes of history, calculus and chemistry, it was finally lunch time.

Skye and I sat down on our usual table which was close to the window.
As I was busy enjoying my fries and nuggets with a glass of juice, Ric joined us on our table with his tray of vegetable salad and juice.

"hey ace, hey skye" he greeted sitting down. "I want to tell you about something, it's about what... " he trailed of.

I knew he wanted ask me something relating to our previous encounter.

"it's alright, I already told her everything " I said.

"but..." he remarked widening his eyes as if demanding an explanation.

"yeah!!! She's my bestie and she can be trusted not to say anything" I said while he gave a sigh of relief.

"I wanted to know..." Ric was yet to finish his statement when Cassy cut in "Stacey I need to know if we had a plan when they come after us again"

Just as I was about to answer, Cody and Adrian came, pulled a seat and sat with us.

"okay everyone, before I start, this is my friend Skye and she knows everything so there is no need hide anything from her " I stated.

"now we need to go through the files we collected while escaping so we know we are dealing with and... " the presence of Jimmy walking towards our direction made me stop talking halfway.

"hey you guys are having a meeting without the Star player" he said in an egoistic tone while pulling a chair and sitting with us.

To be honest, I still know deep down that I still have a crush on  Jimmy. He was the only guy I have ever liked since like forever even if he was an egoistic jerk. I mean who forgets their long time crush just because he was being a jerk to her. Him sitting in my table for the first time made my heart flutter a little. Maybe this incident has changed him a little.

"What are you thinking about" the voice of Skye broke my reverie.
Then realization dawned upon me that I've steering at Jimmy and was mute all this time.

"we should meet at the east end of the beach this evening as we can't afford to let anyone overhear our discussion" I suggested.

"that's a great idea" Cody added.

At this point, I noticed that my table had become the center of attraction as all eyes were aimed directly at us.

I know what must be going on in each of their minds right now. Well if it was me,  I would probably steer and wonder why all enemies would sit on the same place and chatting as if they've been friends for ages.

"if this isn't the sight of the century... What are all of you doing together in the same place and at the same time" Tess asked in a rather sassy manner.

"it's not every thing you see or hear that you should poke your nose into. Just because we are sitting together doesn't mean there is an hidden agenda behind it" Cassy said rolling her eyes.

"yeah right!!! It just happens that all the people missing for almost a month turns up and suddenly becomes friends. How convenient"she replied.

"why can't you lay of people's backs for even a minute, then you might find out how pathetic you actually are" Skye said.

"this isn't over.  I promise to get to the root of all this" she said  storming of to God knows where.

"I think we shouldn't meet in public like this again. People are starting to become suspicious" I said.

As everyone dispatched into different directions, I could finally return to eating my nuggets and fries.

"hey acey, I'm going to sign up for an extra curricular activity with the drama club. So see you after school" Skye informed.

"don't forget you're my ride home" I said.

"I won't" she said already walking away.

"I guess it's just me and you now ricky" I said returning to my 🍟 fries.

"what's up with the 'Ricky' stuff" he asked.

"well if only you call me ace then I don't see any reason why I can't make up a name for only me to call you" I replied.

"fair enough" he said.

"do you want to have some nuggets" I asked.

"no, I'll pass" he replied.

"why are you eating only veggies" I asked again.

"haven't you noticed? I'm a vegetarian" he said.

"wow!!! I never noticed" I said.

I walked through the packing lot searching for Skye's car but it was no where to be found.

"where could she be" I muttered

Ding ding... My phone rang.

I opened to check and it was Skye.

I'm sorry for ditching you but it was urgent. I promise to make it up to you.  Kisses.

"she has got to be kidding me" I muttered.

I searched through the packing lot for Ricky's car but I guess he has already gone as he thought Skye would be dropping me off.

I decided to go to the bus station.  On my way,  I heard a car hunking behind me.

"need a ride nuggets" Jimmy's voice echoed in my ear from behind.

"I'm alright,  I'll just catch a bus" I answered.

"don't be so dumb and just get in nuggets"

"what's up with the name 'nuggets'"

"I noticed how you were ravishing those poor nuggets earlier"

"oh!!!  I would appreciate it if you don't call me nuggets".

"just get in"

"no I won't"

"I know deep down you want to"

"no I don't"

"seriously there's something I want to ask you about"

"then just wait till we meet this evening"

"it's personal"

"what could be so personal"

"you'd have to get in to know".

What could be so important and personal that Jimmy wants to talk about. I would have to find out. I would have to drop my pride for a little bit.

He parked directly in front of me and opened the door. I got in and the smell of the car filled my nostrils. It was the  smell of lavender.

"I entered just because you have something important to say" I said not looking at him and folding my hands.

"keep telling yourself that nuggets" she said smirking.

"Nuggets" what the fudge. He must really be enjoying this right now.
