The party

The d-day is finally here and I can't wait to get my groove on.
As soon as I opened the door of my room, the smell of strawberry pancakes overcame my nasal organ.

Mom is a good cook or should I say a great cook. I guess that was one of the reasons dad married her.

I rushed back into my bathroom and quickly had my bath and bushed my teeth because I couldn't wait a minute more to have my breakfast.

We were all eating breakfast together like one big family. Even if we have our differences and argue a lot, that does not mean we love each other any less.

"Acey, can I follow you to the party? I promise I'm going to behave" Sophie said looking up to me with her puppy eyes.

I needed to find a way to refuse her and at the same time not hurt her feelings.

I knelt down close to her so I could be at the same height with her. Darling you know I would love you to accompany me and be my plus one but the party is strictly by invite only and you don't have one so you can't go with me.
"Fine but next time you go for a party, I'm definitely coming with you" she said with a believing smile on her face.

"Cunning sister alert" Chase announced while smiling towards Sophie. He his always looking for a ways to get on my nerves.

Look Chase if you know what is good for you, you better get off my case or I will make this house... "Cut it off guys and just continue eating" dad said with a stern look on his face.

Chase gave me one of his evil smirks as if he has achieved something then returned to eating his food.

It was 7:00 in the evening and my preparations for the party has already started.

Skye came over to help me with my makeup because that was definitely something I wasn't good at.
About thirty minutes later we were ready to go.

Gosh we were both looking stunning in our dresses and I couldn't wait for everyone to see this other beautiful and gorgeous side of me.

That is if they know who I am to begin with. Only few people know me because I like keeping to myself.

Skye had rented a car to take us to the party and bring us back.

We finally reached Jimmy Holland's family hotel and to say the truth it was so magnificent. I guess now I know the reason why anyone can't just attend the party.
We walked into the halls and it was huge and also packed with people drinking, chatting, dancing, laughing etc.

"I guess this party is a perfect opportunity for you to finally talk to Jimmy" Skye said naughtily.

Jimmy has been my crush since forever but I guess he doesn't even know I exist.

"He's coming towards us, you will have to say something. It's now or never" Skye said as she pushed towards Jimmy. I almost landed on my face in front of him.

Hey nice party, I blurted out.
He turned round as if i was talking to someone behind him. "Excuse me, are you talking to me and by the way who the hell are you and how did you get into this party"

He picked up his phone and started calling someone.

Why are you making a scene out of nothing. I guarantee you that I was invited to this party.

Why the hell am I explaining myself to him.

Suddenly the guy who asked for our invite came and Jimmy asked him if I came in with an invite.

"Sure she did, I checked her personally" the guy replied.

"Jimmy dear, I didn't know you let just anyone into your party".
If it isn't the skanky bitch Lisa.

"If it's not Stacey here at Jimmy's party. You changed a lot. How did you manage to look this manageable" Lisa said as if she had made the joke of the year.

How the hell did she know who I was?

I didn't want to stand there looking like a loser so I decided to speak up for myself.

Lisa I think if you can get yourself to look like this good, then me looking like this must be a piece of cake. I smirked at her as if I had won the award of the year.

Jimmy dear are you just going to stand there and let this clown insult me.

"Just let her be, after all we don't associate with screw loose and knot job like her" Jimmy said while taken Lisa's hand and walking away.

At this moment, my eyes were already filled with tears but I tried as much as I could to hold it in to prevent further embarrassment.

I turned round to see half of the people at the party staring at me and whispering.

Okey here it is, I can't hold it any longer. Hot tears rolled down my my cheeks as I ran to God knows where.

I kept running until my legs could no longer carry me and finally ended up leaning on a close by rock.

The tears wouldn't just stop gushing out. I can't believe I had a crush on that jerk. I can't believe I got embarrassed by the one person I think about before I sleep and when I wake up. I've just been stupid thinking about that jackass of a guy.

Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder and without even thinking, I brought out my pepper spray from my bag and sprayed on the stranger's face.

"Oh my God!!! my eyes, I saw what happened at the party so I decided to come and see how you are doing but instead I get attacked. I can't believe this".

I'm so sorry, I was just scared that someone had come to attack me.

I helped him clean his eyes. I must admit that this guy had the eyes of an angel.

So I haven't seen this face in Transville before and I swear there isn't any one in transville that I don't know except that they don't know me.

"Actually I live in Boston, but just came into town to see my Aunt and maybe transfer into Transville high to finish my high school. My cousin ginger gave me an invite to this party so I decided to check it out" he said with a smile on his lips.

I'm Eric but I'm usually called Ric so I guess you can refer to me as Ric.

We had chatted and laughed for almost an hour before I got a text from my mum.

Mum: you better start coming home. It says on the the news that there is going to be a big storm so hurry home ASAP.

I quickly stood up ready to go home but it was too late because the storm had already started.

"I think we should hide in those caves till the storm passes by" ric said.

We both ran into the caves and sat there waiting for the storm to stop.
