Hey guys
So this chapter is going to be different and exciting because we're going to be taking a short trip into the lives of most of our characters before finally returning to our main character. I'm doing this because i believe i haven't allowed my readers to fully understand all my characters part in this book. So how about you all sit down or do whatever you do while reading and prepare for new discoveries, action, fear, anger, and above all suspense.

Cassy's Pov

They say life isn't a bed of roses but i disagree to that saying because when one can make others do according to their bidding, then life can be a bed of roses.
I know using my abilities to compel others to act against their wish isn't right so i only use them when it's necessary.
I was still scared of the fact that someone out there was watching us.
"Cassy!!! You better get that lazy butt of yours down here before i teach you a lesson you'll never forget in a hurry"
my step monster yelled.

Can't she just go a day without trying to make my life a living hell?
"I'm coming" i yelled back.
I walked briskly down the stairs to meet my step mom who was boiling with anger like a hot water in a kettle.

"I thought i told you remove those unwanted cartons from the basement and clear the place out" she yelled.

"but those things belonged to my mum and i don't think its right to throw them out" i tried to explain.

"Did i hear you say your mum. Last time i checked, i was the one paying the rent not your dead mother"

"you can't just throw her things out like that...please just..." i pleaded but before i could finish, i felt her palms colliding with my face.

"how dare you tell me what and what not to do in my house" she pushed me on the floor. "aren't you glad i let you stay here even though you the daughter of that whore" she said hitting me with the broom stick.

I was feeling enraged to the extent that if not for the law against murder, i would have killed this woman without thinking twice.

"how dare you" i yelled "i refuse to do anything you say to me and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it and i demand an apology this instant"

"its alright, you can leave the things there. I'm really sorry for everything. Please forgive me" she pleaded.

I stood up and stormed off into my room. In as much she begged for forgiveness, i wasn't happy because i knew she did it against her will.

I walked through the hallway putting on my hood in order to prevent people from seeing my bruised face.

"hey Cass, what up" Adrian greeted.
"Fine, i need to go" i continued walking. "whats the problem" he asked as he dragged my hand, making me turn facing him.
" what happened to your face, who did this to you" he asked looking worried and angry at the same time.
"i appreciate your concern but i got to go" i said as i walked away with tears in my eyes.

Adrian's Pov

Ever since i got this abilities, i felt the need to help other people like me who were maltreated and who were in difficult positions. For the past few weeks now, i have been playing superhero secretly. I believed that i could make a difference even though crime hardly occurs in Transville but still there was fear in me. The incident with Jimmy could not leave my mind.

As i walked through the hallway, i noticed Cass moving very fast with her hood covering her face. I had know Cass for a very longtime now even though we don't talk. we've been neighbour's for almost eight years now.  I never talked to her even though i knew she was facing almost the same shitty problem i was.

I decided to walk up to her since we've gotten acquainted this past few months but she didn't seem to want to talk.
When i came closer, i noticed all the bruises on her face and neck.
I tried to ask her what happened but she just stormed off with tears in her eyes. I was really worried for her.

Cody's Pov

Someone once said " if they cant see you, they can't touch you".

Ok no one said that. I just made it up.

My life has been awesome...ish since i got my power. Being invincible is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Earlier when i couldn't control it, i woke up one morning felling happy as if something good happened to me in my dream. I walked downstairs to meet my mum preparing the table for breakfast.

"Morning mom" i greeted.
"morning dea..." she replied turning around, looking here and there as if she lost something.
"mum what are you looking for " i asked. This time the terror in her face increased.
" y...you" she stuttered.
"isn't Cody down yet" dad said standing next to me.
Just then it struck me that my invisibility mode was definitely on. I didn't know  because my powers makes me see myself as if i wasn't invisible. I could only know i was invisible if my reflection didn't show in a mirror.
My mum was dumbfounded as she didn't understand what just happened. I rushed to my room in attempt to change back to normal.
After many futile attempts, it finally worked.

"where have you been" dad asked as i joined them in the dinning.

" I've been in my room" i answered
" how do you explain greeting me this morning and don't lie to me. I'm very sure i wasn't hearing things" mum asked maintaining a serious face.

" actually mum, i fixed a hidden camera, speaker and mic in the dinning. That was how i spoke to you this morning" i answered.
"okay but don't do that again. You almost scared your mother yo death" dad replied. My answer was believable because they knew it was something i could actually do, I've done worse.

Then the idea of my mum being scared because she could not see me, made me realize i could do the same or even worse to those jocks who always bully me.
I practiced day and night to master my abilities and finally it paid of.

I secretly went into the locker room and waited patiently for their practice to be over. After about thirty minutes, they  came back and went into the shower. It was finally time to take revenge. I changed into my invisibility mode. The moment they came out of the bathroom, i started going around throwing their clothes in the air saying "never bully anyone again or i will haunt you and kill you. Now leave this place". They began to scream like chickens released for the early morning sun. Before i knew it, they all ran out of the locker room with their towels on their waist, only jimmy remained. He was practically laughing his ass out, probably because he knew i was the only one who could pull such a stunt.

"well done Cody" he kept on laughing. Its true that they say revenge is a bitch.

Being the schools information carrier was my job. When i smell something fishy, i dig deep and eventually, i always find out what i want.

My latest obsession is that of the students who went missing and mysteriously returned. The funny part is that this people hated themselves but now, they just seem to become too friendly with each other.
I can smell a huge story.

I have only gathered that something weird is going on between those five. I also have pictures of Jimmy taking Acey on a date yesterday while Eric went their with some blond girl. One thing is for sure, i could see a love triangle.

They seem to be very discreet with everything they do. My only way to get the information i need, is to get close to Cody. Everyone in school knows he has had a crush on me since like forever.

"Hey Cody" i smiled, tucking loose stands of my hair behind my ears.
" h...hi T...Tess"  he stuttered.

How practical

"would you like to hang out later"  i asked.
"sure. what t...time" he stuttered more.
"Meet me at the cafe by five" i said trailing of.

Cody was a nerd but was too cute for his own sake. If he wasn't a nerd, i bet girls would be lining up for him.

I didn't like toying with peoples feelings because i have had my own fair share of that but a girl has got to do what a girl got to do.

When Eric called me few weeks ago and told me that Jimmy was badly injured. I didn't hesitate before coming. Jimmy was a close friend of mine and i wouldn't want anything bad happening to him.
Seeing his condition, i couldn't bear but ask Eric what happened to him exactly.

Eric explained everything to me but it still seemed unbelievable until he showed me personally. I never believed that something like that was even possible.
I knew i had to keep my mouth shut for Eric and Jimmy's sake.

I didn't like the fact that this Acey of a girl is always lurking around Jimmy and Eric. I just don't like her but i don't know why.

After the gunshot, Nuggets would come over to help me out with household chores. She would clean, make food, prepare my my meds, change my bandage and so on. At first i hated it.  I wasn't used to so much attention as i was practically alone at home all the time. I know i have friends but they all clung to me because of what i have and not what i am.
Eventually, i started getting used to her company and later on liked it. I could say she was the first person i felt connected to in a long time.
Acey was bright, outspoken, courageous, brave, clumsy, cute, beautiful, thoughtful, caring... Its really hard to find all this qualities in one person.

Apart from nuggets, Ginger was my very good friend. We have been through a lot together. Even if weren't as close as before, i can't forget how i once felt towards her. I didn't want to ruin our friendship so didn't tell her and eventually i suppressed everything i felt.

Gradually, i think i started developing feelings for nuggets. I hope she feels the same way.
I once heard she had a huge crush on me but every time, i made her a laughing stock.

After a lot of deliberation, i finally summoned the courage to ask her out on a date.  Everything was going on smoothly until Eric walked in.

The atmosphere was filled with tension. I knew something was up between those two but i decided to play cool. I didn't want her to feel more burdened so i just agreed to take her home.

There were so many things going on all at once in my life right now.
On one hand was Jessica blackmailing me and on the other, ace.

I cant believe she lied to me about something like this.
It would have been nice if she had just told me she was going out with Jimmy. Then i would know i was just ditched. Seeing then together at the restaurant made me fill not only ditched but she also betrayed my trust.

I know i haven't been much of a friend this past few weeks but at least i was trying so hard to fix my mistake.

I felt really angry because she was still stupid enough to go out with a guy who did not just hurt her only once but uncountable times.
How could someone be this dumb and foolish at the same time. She knew Jimmy was a player.
I just couldn't understand her at all.

I wasn't jealous or anything like that. Its just that i cant tolerate ace being hurt in anyway and i knew jimmy to be nothing but trouble.

If Jessica hadn't asked me to meet up with her here then i would never have seen ace.

Ace kept calling and sending messages countless times but i was too angry to even look at it.

I needed time to get my thoughts together.

I rolled from side to side on my bed. My head was feeling heavy. My gaze suddenly shifted to my table clock.

11:30am

How couldn't anyone wake me up. My attempt to get up from my bed failed. I was feeling so weak that i couldn't get up.

"baby i already called the school saying that you're home sick" dad informed.
"where's mum" i asked.
"she left early. she has an important client" dad replied.

Mum is a real estate agent, the best in the business. She was a known for her capabilities within and outside Transville.

"Abracadabra" Sophie waved her waned over me. "you're well now acey" she grinned.

"yeah I'm well now and its all thanks to princess Sophie and her magical wand" i smiled as she cuddled with me on the bed.

"dad bought me a pink little phone" she stretched it out to me.
"its really pretty" i took it from her.
"can you put in your contact in there so that i can call you anytime i want. I'll also collect mum, dad and chase contact later" she jumped on the bed.

"okay dear" i said typing in my number.
" Sophie, Natalie is here" dad yelled.
She ran out of the room with excitement.  Natalie was her best friend just like me and Skye.

I swiped my phone open and saw new messages. I hoped one of them was from Ricky but when i checked there was no message from him. It was just Skye and Jimmy.

I decides to text both of them. I would want to be alone today so i can have time to think.

Ricky wasn't picking my calls. I wonder if he would pick up if i used Sophie's phone. I tried using Sophie's phone but it was unavailable.

I took my med and got a quick shower. When i say quick, i mean the flash kind of quick.

I needed air, this house was suffocating me.
I picked up my one handed black bag, put some money, my phone. Sophie's phone was still lying on the bed. I picked it up and put it in my pocket hoping to give her when i got downstairs.

"Sophie, Sophie" i called out.
"she has gone with Natalie and her mum to get their costume made" dad replied.
Dad is a lawyer. He mostly works from the house, that was why he was always around.

I picked some kit kat and  some candy from the kitchen before leaving.
" dad, I'm going to the park to get some air".

"be careful and hurry back sweetie" dad yelled from his office.

The wind was nice. It was the perfect atmosphere for thinking. The flowers planted in there gave wonderful fragrance.

A quarrel with Ricky always makes me feel uneasy. I've had fights with jimmy and Skye but none troubled me this much.

Was Skye's weird assumption correct.
Do i like Jimmy or Ricky. Oh God!!! Why does my life have to be so complicated.

I started going back home. I was tired of dads numerous calls to check up on me.

Have you ever had one of those feelings when you fells someone is watching you? That was exactly how i felt.

I hastened my step in other to get home quickly.
I noticed a black car following me. It wasn't a suv like before. It stops when i do, slow down when i do, faster when when i do.
Was my mind playing tricks. It might be that the car was having faults.

The area was silent. Why was everyone away at this time. A white van suddenly parked in my front and the black car which was following me earlier stopped behind me.

This time, i wasn't going down without a fight. The two guys who griped me from behind received the shock of their life. When i say shock of their life, i mean literarily. They started moving back.

"the next person to move a step forward, gets it from me" i yelled taking little steps back.

If i needed to leave here, i knew i had to fry the vehicles completely.
I struck the white van with electricity and immediately it exploded, sending the people standing close by to fly off.

Before i could turn to face the other car, someone put something like a metal collar around my neck.
I could no longer make use of my powers. I felt empty inside and i wasn't liking the sudden turn around of situation.

Before i knew it, i was gagged from behind.

"take her bag and throw her into the trunk. Make sure her phone is inside"
a man ordered.

I should have known better than to inhale the handkerchief i was being gagged with. This wasn't the first time for Gods sake acey.

Slowly, my surrounding started to fade away, my head started to feel light, my legs became weak. I guess the effect of what was in the handkerchief finally kicked off.

It was finally lights out for me.

Hey guys. Long chapter right. I never expected it also. Its all because of my lovely readers. As i said before, don't be non active reader. I would really love it if i get to know what you think about the chapter.
