Shreya Pov

Our brain is the most mysterious yet creative and wonderful thing in the whole world. Its power should never be under estimated. We choose what our heart says but poor brain always tries to protect us from heartbreak. Now the same thing is happening to me with ocean of thoughts spinning in my brain. 

I collapsed on sofa and closed my eyes "Shreya!!" his shout made me startle. "Karthik!" I said in shock seeing him running towards me. He looked so good with his wide smile and fell on me. Wait! Its a hug, but looking like he fell on me as I am still sitting. I tried to move but could not get out of his strong grip. We were like that for a long time, "Karthik!" I said in his ear. 

"Oh! I am so happy, so could not control" he said scratching his head. After many months I am seeing him so lively, as if some big burden has been removed. I could connect to him now as he is looking same like days when we met first.  

"Where all others?" I asked looking around. "Dont know, I came first" he said with a huge grin. I stood there thinking what to say and started playing with paper weight. "Shall we go for shopping, we have functions to attend" he asked cheerfully. "I am not good at shopping" I lied. "Its ok if you dont want to come with me" he said nodding his head. He caught my lie, how could he not find it being with me for these many days. 

"Actually if I leave others and come with you they will kill me. So let others come" I covered up and he smiled. Thank god! he believed this time. 

After sometime I joined Suchi in her room where Yash was telling her all details of wedding he attended. "I cannot stay down any more, Suchi your family will make me go mad" Anokhi blamed. "That is why I told you to come here instead of trying to help them" Yash said with a smirk. "All are excited for this little one, please dont mind girl" Suchi said cuddling her baby.

"Looks like I got saved from some hurricane" Nishanth entered sighing in relief. We all understood that the arrangements going on in downstairs are in full swing. "Let me show this video to you all" Nishanth said and played it. Its Shruthi's wedding video from start. 

"This all you can watch, let me show you blockbuster scene which you all missed" he said with a sheepish smile. "Blockbuster?!!" Ankith asked him. "You see yourself" Nishanth sat beside him. When did these to patch up? May be I am just imagining things.

"Happy married life to you both"  I heard Karthik's voice and started watching it. 

"Thank you so much for everything" George and Shruthi thanked profusely. "Shruthi we cannot be friends anymore" Karthik said making Shruthi frown.

 "I cannot be friends with someone who disrespects my wife and taunts her on every occasion possible. I do not know why you hate her but she is my life and I cannot stand anything against her. Even yesterday you got a chance to try to be friends with her but you simply hurt her again. So its better we stay as strangers" Karthik said in rough tone. 

"But we are friends right? How can you break years long friendship? We dont even have other friends" Shruthi  questioned. "You are right, I dont have any other friends before. Today I have many friends who treat me like their family. Do you know who they are? They all are Shreya's friends. If I try can get others too which I never did as I had you, only you as my friend" Karthik sighed. 

"I do not have any particular reason to not like your Shreya. I do not hate her its just that  am not able to like her. Coming to the point of she not being suitable to you, thats what I feel. You love her so much and she never gives a damn to you. Disgusting! How can I see my friend lacking love in his life? " Shruthi  shouted.

"Did I ever say you that Shreya does not love me? Or did she tell you? Or you came to know by any means? No, not any of them. You simply assumed things in sick brain of yours" Karthik said pointing his finger near her head.  "I cannot change for you, for that matter for anyone else too" Shruthi said in low tone. "Exactly! even I cannot nor my Shreya can change for you. I kept my promise and got you married to your George. See you again only when you understand things" . . "Take care George" he gave him a hug and rushed out from there. 

"Look at your hero" Yash commented and all of them clapped after this. "Where did he go?" Ankith asked Nishanth. "He came running to his sweetheart" Suchi said and winked at me. I am still in shock after that video. "He loves you so much angel" Anokhi said hugging me. I gave her a questioning look. "That he does" Nishanth joined us.

"Preetisha enjoyed all this action in live, how lucky!" Anokhi exclaimed. I came out from that room still lost in thoughts. All these are saying Karthik loves me, they are hell bent in making me accept it. When I am not sure about it how can I? Suddenly I felt someone pulling me into dark side of corridor. I am not scared as I am at home but tried to see who did this.

"Its me, dont panic" Karthik whispered in my ears hugging me from back. "Now slowly walk along" he said still hugging me and made me walk. We stopped and he went to switch on lights. "So here it is" Karthik gave a big box to me and signaled to open it. I slowly unpacked it guessing what it could be? 

My happiness has no bounds looking at it. I touched it lightly with my finger tips and ran across its outline. This is the best gift and surprise till date, its from Karthik which made it more special. "You like it?" he questioned. "Cant you see" I said with happy tears and hugged him. "How do you know? No one gifted me this before. This Violin is the best gift anyone can gift me ever" I kissed him in that happiness.

"How will Karthik does not know what his Shreya wants?" he asked me raising his eyebrow. "You so know me" I hugged him but realised what I was doing and pushed him. "What happened?" he asked me with concern. "What if all this is another act? Any way you have a habit of doing all good things when you hurt me and ignore, hurt again" I said looking away. "It will never happen again. You can trust me" he said trying make me face him. 

"Take your time Shreya, you are right in your place" he said leaving me. I should stay strong on the decision I have made for my life. I went to collect the papers from lawyer and reached before naming ceremony started. 

Everyone were excited about this function as its related to our little doll. "What do you guys think her name will be?" Yash asked and all started giving various names. "Decide one name and lets see if it matches with what we thought" Suchi challenged. After a small argument and long fight "Shreya! we will go with whatever you say" Avni declared. "I will not say it out but I have written it some where, so let them name first" I said. 

"Yashitha" Suchi and Yash said with a huge smile and we all clapped. Suddenly all of them looked at me, then I opened my gift and showed them the pendant on which a name is engraved as . . Yashitha.

"Yash and Suchitha's daughter Yashitha" I said and handed it to Suchi. "When did you buy this?" she asked taking it. "The day My Yashi is born" I said kissing her baby. We saw the chain which they bought was broken so I took out m chain and gifted it. "Its your father's gift which has his blessings" Suchi whined. "Its ok, now your daughter will have our blessings in it" I said and came to my room.

That chain is my support when I am alone, I feel my father is with me when I hold it but I gave it for Yashitha out of love. I traced my finger at place which it used to be, I miss it. Suddenly I felt something in its place to find Karthik placing a chain around my neck. "I know how important is that chain to you, so let me fill its place with mine" he locked it and started kissing me trailing down the chain.

"Karthik! Stop it" I said and pulled away from him. "I cannot bear your love which I am not sure is an act or real. I feel like you are an impostor of Karthik. This much caring and all is not you" I saw hurt in his eyes hearing my words. "This is the real me Shreya! You will get to see only this. Whatever I am saying is truth" he said holding my shoulders. 

When I met him first and became his friend, till our marriage I expected Karthik will be like this only but it did not turn out so. Now he is the same and here I am not able to believe his words. 

Next day we all went for shopping and I let Karthik select a dress for me. He chose a beautiful saree and a dress for me with accessories too. "Wear one for evening party and other one whenever you like" he said. He never left my side and followed me where ever I go like love sick puppy. This made all the gang pull my leg but who cares! 

When we came back as decided I went to Karthik who is sitting in lawn, "What are you doing here?" I questioned. "Just enjoying nature" he replied "Like you do" he added making me glare at him. "Sign these papers" I handed him a bunch of papers. He took them from my hand and signed them immediately making me shocked. 

"You did not even read them" I mumbled. "I trust you" he said with an assuring smile. I did not expect this to happen, I wanted him to read them and fight with me but my plan backfired. 

"What if they are  divorce papers?" I asked him blankly looking into his eyes.
