Hippocratic Oath (Rules & Regulations)
1. "I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk."
Please, respect everyone. Yes, it is fine to have drama or emotional moments between characters, but if you are seen lashing out at other users you will receive one of your three strikes.
2. "I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures that are required."
I know we all have busy lives (me definitely included), but in order to keep this alive, its participants are required to be active. Also, please have at least three sentences so others have something to go off of. Short replies can be exceedingly difficult to answer. (p1: tag two people that would be interested)
3. "I will not be ashamed to say 'I know not'."
If you have any questions at any point in time, don't be afraid to ask. Either myself or one of the others who know the answer will reply to you with our best ability.
4. "I will respect the privacy of my patients."
As soon as anything inappropriate happens, take it out of this book. Swearing is fine, but it must be censored. Also, importantly: if someone says they are uncomfortable with a certain topic, do not bring it up, either in or out of context of the writing. For instance, I don't like to read about other people with anxiety disorders because I have one, myself, and it makes me uncomfortable. Go back to rule #1 and be respectful of this! (p2: what you think is the most important rule)
5. "I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all of my fellow human beings."
I would like this to be as inclusive as possible. Characters of all races, genders, and relationship preferences all exist in society, and I don't think it's fair to not have that represented. Be diverse!
Also: this is a regular, general hospital, not a psychiatric institution! Please make characters that have varying levels of affliction, and be original with reasons for why they are there! I don't want to see seven people coming in at one time because they're all being treated for depressive episodes. You wouldn't go to a place like this for that kind of thing, anyway.
"May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help."
