6. Creature at Night

It was a catastrophic, blustery night as the unpropitious brunette leaves covered the prodigious and long-limbed trunks of the trees swaggered together in fury, the wind roaring like a lion. The path faded under each and every step I performed as it leads into the darkness of the dense woods. The darkness pressed in on him from all sides and his body screamed for him to run.

The darkness encompassed me from all sides and my mind shouted for me to run. I took in my breath and flung a huge sigh of confidence. I was going to discover what it was hidden in the mysterious clump of dark woods. My feet raised and lowered towards the thick trunks, my face soon completely engulfed by the darkness...

Deeper into the depth of the spooky forest, my clothes tore to patches due to the thin spiky branches.

"Will I ever get out of here? I cried to myself, dropping on a thick fallen branch.

'Huuushhhhh... Crack...'

"What was that?" I gulped, alarmed, standing like a statue as it I have been touched by an electric shock.

'Huuushhhhhhhh... Crack, crack... He's coming!'

"Who's coming?!" A shiver went up to my spine.

'He's coming!... He's coming!' the voice continued to echo.

A rustle could be heard, getting louder and louder...
I looked up at the mosaic of branches forming a cage, squinting closely at a small rift between the most far-fetched trees.

'Caw! Caw!' A flock of crows came down in a tornado. I received many scratches to the head from their razor-sharp claws. They hastened all around the small area, their vehemence ostensibly never-ending, and then consequently settling noisily into the trees again.

The woods were smothering. The abundance of green asphyxiated me. The atmosphere was hackneyed and mawkish.

The moon shone through a lattice of leaves, self-contradictory stars could be glimpsed through tree splits.

The wind moved through leaves, creaking tree branches, grass tobogganing to and fro, wolves howling.

My face was sweat-dripping and my throat was sore. Cold and dewy leaves slid over my skin.

Abruptly, the clip-clopping sound was perceived again. I saw something, bloody something red... moving across the trees.

I hid behind a spacious tree. I could hear my heart pounding against my ribs. I gulped my saliva. In the shadows, branches cracked indistinctly then was lost.
