*last time...the twins and Biggs and Wedge were plodding towards the mining town of Narshe, a town that is neutral in the ongoing expansion of the Ghestalian Empire, but here, is where things change, and a reveal that will shift the tides of war.*

Wings of Hope!  The Loudian Twins Step into The Light!

"Alright, put them on forward formation!  And don't waste time on the riff-raff!  Remember what we came here for!" Wedge shouted to the twin duo, who then moved in the front of the trailing Magitek Armors Wedge and Biggs were piloting.

"Good, good...we should wrap this up really nicely!" Biggs started to say, when a Narshe Guard with a domesticated Silver Lobo appeared.

"Y-you Magitek Riding, Self-Important SWINE!  Take this!  Get em'!"

The Silver Lobo charged at the Magitek Armor, only to be outclassed by a Metal Kick, wounding the dog but not outright killing him.  Humiliated, and pride bruised as well, the Lobo limped back making what seemed to be whimpering and growling sounds.

"Well how was I supposed to know that!?  NOBODY told me that we would have to fight something like that!" the Narshe Guard said.  "Fine, let's warn the others, and then get you fixed up, alright?  I never thought the day would come..." He then rang the bell, alerting the town and summoning the guards! "This should slow 'em down!"

"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?  They send these guys to defend the mines!?  Heheh! Let's break a few eggs, shall we?"  Biggs inquired.

"Of course...but I believe the guests of honor should go first!  You two! (he points at the twins with white hair) Show them why you are Elite Enforcers of the Empire!" Wedge shouted, as the mob of Narshe Guards, Silver Lobos and Vomammoth Class Tuskers rush the four Armors.

The twins then proceeded to then tear through the armed mob, slamming a Vomammoth into the ground with such precision that left the guards stunned!

"What are they!?"

"They're...they're monsters!  Ahhh!"

"I knew I should have stayed home today!"

"Quit your whining and fall back!  I have an idea!"

After the others retreated, the Magitek Armors were pushing forward, taking care of the stragglers, while looking over the town.  It was unfortunate they had to blast punch and break through this town, but orders are orders.

After they entered the cave, they spotted a glowing blue light.

"Hey, is that-!?" Biggs said startled

"No, that's just a Save Point, Biggs.  In case we eat it here, time will flow back to before we got caught with our pants down...though we may find ourselves lacking in the supplies we picked up on the way.  As stated, anything we find will have to be rediscovered, but our battle experiences will be remembered.  That said, we can camp out on the world map!" Wedge said excitedly.

Biggs facepalmed.  "Wedge...the readers will never understand what you just said.  Let's just keep moving.  According to the local sources here, the eidolon was found inside the mining shaft like this one...its worth a look into given the soft blue light."

Wedge nods.  "300 Gil says I can take out as many Were-Rats as you!"

Biggs snarled. "You're on!  Hey twin girl, let's show Team Wedge that he's not the only one who can take out rats in an Armor!"

(Meanwhile on Tatooine)

"Achoo!" Luke Skywalker, desert farmer and a radical dreamer, sneezed.

"Luke!?  You okay, up there!?"  Beru shouted nearby.

"Come on, kid.  You better not be catching Desert Fever, I need you healthy for the Harvest Season!" Owen said, gruffly but concerned.

"I'm fine, Aunt Beru, Uncle Owen.  It was a sneeze, that's all!"  the future hero said, sniffing a bit.

"Well, go wash up Luke, Beru makes a mean Dune Stew, and I don't wanna eat it alone!" Owen said.

"I'll be there in a few!"  Luke replied.

He still couldn't shake the feeling that somewhere in the universe, someone was talking about him.

(Back to the Final Fantasy world, in...whatever Solar System they reside in.)

After the impromptu contest, they healed up and continued further into the cave until the encountered a large gate!

Biggs sighed.  "I'll handle this...stand back!"  They do so, and with a charge the gate was shattered into wood and metal pieces.  But then a Narshe Guard appeared.

"We will NEVER hand it over to you, Expansionist Empire Scum!  Ymir, CRUSH THEM!"

A gurgling roar was heard, echoing in the mines.

Slithering at the height of the Magitek Armors, a Lightning Whelk appeared, growling and being led by two Narshe Guards, differently colored to denote rank.

"Ohhh, you are gonna get it now!  We trained her to defend the mines!  One touch and you will be immobilized!" one guard said.

"Wait Wedge...the reports have mentioned these Lightning Class Whelks!  Ones who can absorb Lightning Power-" Biggs recalled.

"-and store the energy inside the shell!?  Yeah, so we aim for the soft parts, right!?" Wedge replied.

"YES, so whatever you do, avoid the shell!" Biggs continued.

"Got it!"

The four begin the attack, using all the weaponry they had, Metal Kicks, Scratches, Magitek Missiles and Thunder Beams, but when Ymir retreated into its shell, Wedge jumped the gun, and they had to learn the hard way why attacking a Whelk Shell was not a good idea.

Ymir countered with a Megavolt spell but due to having 4 members the damage was lessened, but it still hurt like hell!

"Agh!  Wedge!?  Now you know WHY they're dangerous!  Remember, aim for the soft parts!" Biggs admonished his Magitek partner, after healing with Healer Force, a standard in all M-Tek Armors.

"Y-es sir!" Wedge responded, recovering and shouting: "Alright you two!  Show this overgrown Escargot meal why we are the best!  Unleash your power! Twin Riot Blades!"

Hey!  This ain't Pokemon, ya know!

But I'll let it go cause this attack incorporates the Desperation Move as a Special Attack/Finisher Move, as the twins rush and deliver a vicious assault, mauling Ymir and shattering the shell in the process!  The Lightning Whelk gave one last confused and shocked *gwark* before collapsing and dissolving into an inky shadow before disappearing into nothing.

"YEAH!  Looks like we got 'em!"

"Okay, great work, twins!  Return to your positions!  Lets get what we came for and go home!"

So they make their way to the Eidolon, an eerie glow surrounding the chamber...

"This must be it.  This is the eidolon we've been looking for!"

Something compelled the white-haired twins to get a bit closer.  And as they made their way a bit too close to the glowing stone, something unexpected happened.

"Hey, you two...get away from there!  Unless, you know something we don't?" Biggs said.

*the creature in ice emitted a bright yet warm light.*

"Where's that light coming from? Ugh, I-i don't feel so good-" Wedge said as he was erased.

"Oh crap, even in this universe I'm gonna die here!  Wedge, where are you!?  I don't wanna die alone without knowing how this story ends!"  Biggs shouted as he was erased too from existence.

The twins moved a bit closer to the glowing being trapped in ice...and then an unexpected miracle happened.  Energy pulses coursed through their armors.  Both explode in a flash of light then everything went dark.

"Now son and daughter, I want you to be careful around the newly minted Magitek soldiers, especially the Blonde Ice Queen."

"Yes Uncle Cid..." they both said in unison.

"Now be good twins for the Emperor and I'll show you something crazy later on, in my lab."

"Gasp!  Maybe we'll get to see some Vector Hounds, and more!  Sis, what do you think?"

"Ok...those ball and chain guys look neat."

'Come on, where's your fun!?"

"I left it back in that creepy forest, you know!"

*raspberry*

"Look, if the Emperor wants us to be the best, we gotta be more spofisticated!"

"Linka, I am...spofistitaced.  Dang it that's a big word to remember!"

"Lincoln, you know I can't always understand why you have your head in the clouds, but, you're closer to the stars than I could ever be...and it kinda hurts, you know."

"Sorry...I'll shape up-"

"Link, promise me, even if we are seperated, you don't forget about me and our family...ok?"

"Yeah, yeah, I swear on my Light of Vector."

"For real, Lincoln, you have to swear on our family's lives!"

"Ok...I swear on the lives of my family that I won't forget who I am!"
