Wedding Bells

I wake up to Chase crawling out of bed, yawning and ruffling his hair then stretching his arms up. "Morning," I yawn. He jolts and looks back at me, calming down almost immediately and lying down next to me, smiling brightly.

"Hey Love," he smiles. "I have to get to my training in an hour. Got anything to kill my time?" He lifts a brow and I shake my head. I just want him to give me a good morning kiss. His eyes trace my face, landing on my lips then looking at my eyes.

"No," I shake my head.

"Wait," he leans foreword, kissing me gently. "Good morning," can he read my mind? He kisses me again and I smile and blush, squealing and pulling my head into my hands. He gently laughs. "Your adorable."

"Babe, I hate you," I peak at him from my arms. He gently pulls my arms apart from my face and smiles. It only makes me blush more.

"You don't hate me," he kisses my nose, holding my hands and I look at my lap, then up at him. "What's wrong?"

"Why do you think somethings wrong?" I ask as he chuckles dryly.

"You only look at your lap when you're sad." I blink and lick my lips slightly, Chase tilting his head to the side. "So what's wrong?"

I bite my lip before letting out a sigh and squeezing Chase's hand. "I'm worried, about getting married. What if they don't allow us?"

"Then we can wait until we're old enough," he nervously chuckles.

"What if we fall out of love?"

Chase goes silent and I stare at him with what I felt like were soulless eyes. I know we won't last. We're each others first loves, or at least mine, and what if he cheats on me. He cups my jaw. "Love, I can guarantee that I will love you until I die, and even beyond that. I will always and forever love you."

"What if-"

"Enough what if's, I have to get to work, you have weight to gain and we," he kisses my knuckles, "have a wedding to plan."

He walks out and as he leaves Lily walks into the sleeping quarters, walking to mine and softly smiling as if I'm a startled animal that's hurt. She slowly creeps into my chamber and smiles softly, talking as if I've just been raped or have an abusive household I just got out of. "Olive, hi, how's your morning been?"

"Good, what's up?" I should get up and eat breakfast with Chase, or maybe with Asha if she hasn't left yet.

She purses her lips, opening her mouth and closing it a few times trying to think of something to say. One thing my sister is bad at, saying something and not making it offensive. But she gets away with it because she's pretty. "I've noticed that Chase usually speaks for you," she starts, "and how you two are always around each other."

"And?" I put my elbow on my knee and lean against the palm of my hand. "Is it a crime to be around someone I care about?"

"You just seem to be around each other too much," she inches closer. "I'm...worried."

I scoff and sit up as she looks up from her lap and to me. I think she forgot I can see through her innocent act. "Worried? You're not worried. You don't like that I'm actually happy for once and that someone truly likes me! Chase and I are happy! He may speak for me but that's because he knows what I want to say when I can't think of the words! It goes the other way too," Lily just stares at me.

"Olive, you're spending too much time together. And marriage? You're only fifteen-"

"And Mom and Dad are dead!" I shout at her. "Mom and Dad are gone. Avery is gone. I thought you were dead too. Chase helped me through all of this crazy shit! We both could have died that day! The school collapsed, Lily, and you don't even seem to care that there was a very large chance that I could have died." Tears roll down my cheeks.

"Olive, you're fifteen. You can't get married," I'm fuming. My heart is racing and all I want is to leave and join Nathan or Asha or the Twins for breakfast, but she's blocking the door. "I care about you Olive. I don't want you to get hurt, this is your first boyfriend after all."

"And we don't know when we'll be happy or in love again. If the world is this fucked up I should be able to do whatever the fuck I want and to be happy and I don't want to care about what people think anymore!" I pull at my hair as Lily hums. She knows I'm depressed and I just want her gone and Chase or Asha or someone in my real family to comfort me.

"I'm not allowing you to get married. That's final."

"Why can't you just be happy for me!" My skin is burning. I feel like I'm engulfed in flames and there's no way to put it out, that I'm going to burn alive any second. "Someone actually loves me! Why can't you just be happy!" I feel the vault to my emotions start to close. I know it won't be opening again for a while, that I'll be emotionless and distant and ruin whatever good things I have.

"Get out," I don't look at Nathan. "Get the fuck away from her."

"This is a family discussion." Lily flashes a smile and I hear Nathan scoff.

"Family would want them to be happy no matter what. Chase isn't abusive to Olive. They're happy and comfortable together. I doubt you even know that they've had sex! Twice!" Lily glares back at me. "Get the fuck out." Nathan grits his teeth.

"No. She's my sister-"

"No, she's not. She's the lapdog that doesn't want to be on a leash anymore." Lily's out of words. When shes cornered she huffs, crosses her arms and leaves. And that what she does. Nathan growls as she crawls past him and leaves the room. Nathan sits next to me and slowly wraps his arm around my shoulders and I pull my head into his shoulder.

"Do you think me and Chase have a toxic relationship?" I lick the salt form my lips.

"I do think you guys hang out a little too much," he pauses briefly. "Do you trust Chase with other girls?"

"Yeah."

"Well he trusts you with other guys," he rubs his hand up and down my arm. "He trusts you with everything."

"I trust him with everything." I lick my lips again.

Nathan nods and I wipe my cheeks from water. "We should go get some breakfast, let you gain some weight." I laugh dryly and nod. The vault door stops. "Don't let those emotions go, you'll need them."

"So?"I bite my lip as I step off the scale in Dr.Martins room, biting my lip as I sit back down on the table covered in white parchment paper. "How much do I weigh?" It's been two weeks, Chase has his tux that I'm not allowed to see and I have a knee high white dress with lace and silk falling off of the pure white to my mid calf. We're waiting on the cake. Asha designed it.

"One hundred and twenty three," He shakes his head. "That shouldn't have happened. You should weigh around one hundred, not this. You shouldn't weigh this much in so little time."

"What do you mean?"

"You have a fast metabolism, it should have taken you at least three months to gain this much weight." Great, now I'm a freak. "But, I have been told you have a small amount of time to gain this weight."

"Y-Yeah." I look at my swinging feet, the ring fits my finger. "M-My boyfriend asked me to marry him two weeks ago, so I'm trying to gain some weight so the ring fits."

"How old are you?"

"Fifteen."

"You know you could have gotten married as soon as you stepped foot on the base," he looks up from his clipboard. "People believe that the base runs on Americas rules, when in actuality there are no rules. You could of had a kid by now and no one can take it away for you being too young."

"Really?" He nods and leaves. I stand up and walk out of the room and smile at Asha as she leans against the wall.

"So?"

"One hundred twenty three," I smile and Asha smiles back. "Tomorrow?"

"Yep," Asha nods as we walk down the hall to go eat lunch. "Tomorrow at five, most of the base is coming."

"Is Lily?" We haven't talked since our fight.

"I haven't got an answer." I nod as shouting emerges in front of us. We move against the wall as doctors run past with someone in a stretcher. I see a flash of blue hair and a knot pulls in my stomach. "Was that-"

"-Chase..."

Nathan is pacing outside the medical bay, the twins holding each other with Heather crossing her arms and sitting down, bobbing her leg up and down. Nathan keeps mumbled under his breath, as I'm too nervous to sit or stand. I'm leaning against the wall, my arms crossed and my foot slamming against the floor, my foot moving as fast as my heartbeat.

"Can you two stop," Nathan and I look at Heather.

"We have every fucking right to be scared for him," Nathan has anger flaming from his eyes.

"But that doesn't mean you can annoy me." I look at my feet. "And honestly, why would Chase want to date a filthy piece of shit like you?"

"At least he actually fuck me,"

Heather stands up and gets in my face. "Chase wouldn't touch you even if his life depended on it."

"oh hun, I have the hickeys and scratch marks to prove it," I smirk as Asha emerges from medical doors, Nathan and I being the first to get to her. "How is he?"

"A bullet went through his left hip," she tries her best to make us worry less, "the bullet went an inch above the actual bone and didn't hit any vital organs."

"Can we see him?" August asks.

"Sadly no. We just finished extracting the bullet so he won't be awake for a few hours, and he won't be able to stand at the wedding," I bite my lip. I hate this. Chase could have died, he still might die.

Everyone leaves to continue their jobs, but I stay and wait. I wait for Chase. Another doctor emerges and eyes me. "Are you waiting for someone?"

"Chase McLain." I slouch over myself.

He hums and walks through the doors again then comes back. "He's doing well and has been awake for half an hour."

"Can I see him?" He nods slightly and then walks away. I walk through the doors and find Chases name clipped to a curtain. I pull it open and he looks at me as Asha glares at me.

"Who said you could come back here?" Shes holding his arm to replace his IV tube.

"I-I don't know. It was just another doctor." She groans and pulls the needle into his skin. He winces then calms down as his arm is placed back down.

"Well take as long as you want, but visiting hours are over at seven. He just woke up so he's a little droopy." I nod as she walks past me and closes the curtain. I sit at Chases side and he lazily smiles at me, reaching for my hands that are held in my lap.

"Love~" he whines as his hand stays reached out. I hesitantly take it. "I'm alright," he plays with my fingers.

"You could have died."

"I don't doubt it," his words are slurred. Maybe should have waited longer to see him. He stares into me and I scream at myself from the inside. His eyes scream something I can't pinpoint. "I love you Olive."

"I love you too."

"I want to spend the rest of my fucking life with you," he murmurs. "I'm sorry."

"For what?"

He gestures to his hip that covered by bandages and blankets. "I can't fucking walk. No walking equal no wedding."

"W-We can wait a little long," I smile at him but he shakes his head.

"I want to marry you tomorrow," He squeezes my hand. "I will marry you tomorrow."

I stand in front of a mirror in my dress, the twins dusting out wrinkles in the fabric while Asha curls my hair, saying I should be glad he wants to go through with it, how happy I should be that I'm finally getting married.

"You're fifteen," June speaks. "You shouldn't be getting married until eighteen."

"You should be speaking by now,"

"What did I just do?" She looks at Asha then Asha looks at me.

"June, let her be happy," Asha lets the curls fall to my shoulders. I wanted it straight. "I think you were right about straightening it." She pulls out the curl and changed to a straightener and fixes everything. Doing it a few times so it stays. I stare at myself as Asha applies more makeup on my face. "So, nervous?"

"Yeah," I dig my nails into the side of my hand. "I'm scared for Chase. He got so hurt yesterday, I know he won't be able to walk and-" the door opens and Nathan walks in, fixing the cuffs of his shirt at his elbow. He looks up at me and look at my feet as he stares at me.

"Y-You look-" he pauses and his eyes scan on me. "-you look wonderful."

"Is Chase-"

"He has to lie down until the wedding then he can stand for two hours then needs to lie down again," Asha stats and I nod again as she makes my lips look like that I've kissed my veins.

"He's waiting," Nathan pulls his hands into his pockets. "I came to check on the progress."

"Almost done," Asha pulls the brush away from my lips and smiles. "Done!"
