Chapter 7: Dinner for 2
(F/n POV)
My face lit up bright red at the text.
Todorki S.: I will just have you for dinner ;)
I put it down beside me and covered my face with both hands. 'What's wrong?' Hatchi cocked his head to the side, looking at my flustered state confused. It's not the innuendo that got me, it is how unexpected it was. Todoroki didn't seem like the person to send such a thing, especially to a person he barely knows. My phone buzzed again but I couldn't bring my self to look at it yet. I was nervous.
I tried to come up with different explanations. 'Yeah, that's it. Maybe his friend sent it, or maybe it was meant to go to someone else?...' I thought to myself. Part of me hope it was the first. I took a deep breath and picked the phone back up and clicking on the screen.
2 new messages from: Todoroki S.
'We are both adults. it's not even that big of a deal.' I said to myself as I swiped the screen and pulled up the messages.
Todoroki S.: Please ignore that. Kirishima took my phone
Todoroki S.: I'm sorry
Me: It's fine...
Todoroki: Dinner sounds great by the way, I will come by when I get off work. So will 8:00 okay?
Me: See you then ( ◞・౪・)
My heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest, and I wasn't sure why. "Hatchi, I will be back in a little bit, I have to go finish cleaning..." He let out a little whine and I left the room to speed clean the entire apartment.
-
I checked the time. "6:00... that gives me two hours to get a shower and start cooking." I said to myself as I grabbed an outfit from m closet and headed to the bathroom to clean myself up. "Should I shave?... it's not like anything is going to happen... But just in case." I said out loud again as I grabbed a fresh razor from my cabinet.
I looked at the simple outfit I chose in the, slightly foggy, mirror. The simple (f/c) long sleeved shirt was tucked into the high waisted black shorts. It flattered the femininity of my body. I nodded and started to dry my hair.
Time seemed to fly by as I focused my energy and attention on the meal I was making. A small piece of me nagged myself. 'What if he doesn't like it... What if it tastes bad... I shouldn't have agreed to this...' I thought to myself and sighed. 'FOOD. CAN HAVE PLEASE?' One of the four kittens pawed at my legs as I stirred the vegetables in the pan in front of me. I laughed and looked down at them. "This isn't for you."
-
I felt my phone buzz in my pocket as I put the lid on the food to keep it warm.
Todoroki S.: I'm here
Me: You can come on up
Todoroki S.: The door is locked
Me: Sorry, on the way down.
I quickly turned off the stove and headed down the stairs. As I made my way around the corner, I saw him standing by the glass doors, face illuminated in the setting light by his phone screen. I turned the lock and let him in. "Sorry, I forgot to leave it unlocked." I smiled. "It's okay." He said, his face was neutral but voice soft.
We walked up the narrow stairs and into the apartment, the smell of food greeting us as I opened the door. "Smells good." He complemented. A pink tint worked it's way to the tops of my cheeks as it slowly pushed the self doubt away. "It's nothing fancy..." I said meekly as I walked into the kitchen, Todoroki in tow.
-
"Thank you for the meal." He said and bowed his head slightly. I smiled stood up to grab the empty dishes. "No need to be so formal..." He stood up also and brought his plate to the sink. "Let me help." He insisted. "No, it's fine. I can do them."
After going back and forth, the dishes got done with Todoroki's help.
I stole a glance at him as he had his hands in the water, scrubbing a plate. The sleeves of his open button up were rolled to his elbows and the white undershirt was turning transparent at the bottom from the splashed water. It clung to his toned torso, leaving little to the imagination.
'(F/n) stop thinking like that!' I scolded myself as dried and put away the dishes. Once the last dish was cleaned and put in its place, I turned to him holding two wine glasses. "Do you drink?" He nodded. "Sometimes. What do you have?" I pulled out a bottle of white wine. "It's kinda cheap, but it still tastes good." I smiled.
We moved to the couch, glasses in hand and the full bottle on the coffee table. I sat with my legs crossed and back against the arm, facing him. "Let's play 20 questions."
