Chapter 6 - Out of control

Notes: Hi guys! It took me longer to update, I know, but here I am. I finally got inspired, so here's chapter 6.

The next one will be the last for this story. Since I'm being a perfectionist, I'll probably take a bit longer to update, I want to write a good ending lol. And I want to explore both couples besides the action, so at least u guys know why (the next chapter will also have a light M rated version on AO3 and T rated on Wattpad, and Quotev).

I got an amazing prompt for The Emerald-Steel Collection, so I'll work on it now and that update will come before this one here, if u like that collection, stay tunned (I'm also taking prompts for that and Scarlet-Canary collection, so if u have any ideas u want to see turned into a short story, just comment on the collections chapters)

Enjoy.

Everyone went back to Kara's place with boxes of pizzas in their hands. Gladly, Kara and Oliver seemed to be less tense and back to normal. Brainy left a relieved sigh and sat down, opening one of the boxes. They all prepared to execute their plan while they ate.

- Do you guys could reach an agreement about the plan? – Thea asked, grabbing a slice too

- Yes, we did – Oliver said. – Brainy and Nia go with me inside the house so we can kidnap one of the children of liberty and Kara will be nearby, ready to help in case we need.

- And Oliver will question the guy to know where they took the missing aliens.

Thea stared from Kara to Oliver. She knew what questioning meant and wondered if Kara was really ok with it.

- Are you sure? – Thea kept staring from one to the other

- Yes. – Kara said – I trust Oliver. We talked about it...

- I promise Kara to only do what's necessary to get information... So no, dear sister, I won't torture the guy.

- Great, progress... You are a miracle worker, Kara – Thea teased, making her laugh.

- I will scare him, tough – Oliver completed

- While you guys finish getting ready, I'll fly around to make sure is safe for us to go and take the family out of there. – Clark said – I'll be right back.

- I'll go with you – Kara said, switching her outfit in super speed and following Clark.

Clark and Kara flew around where Nia told them the attack would happen, to make sure they would be able to get the aliens out before the children of liberty could get to them. Clark came back to Kara's place where Nia, Thea and Oliver got ready to go.

- There's no sign of them around the whole block so this is the perfect time for us to go. – Clark said as he stared at Oliver – Kara is taking a look around to make sure we don't have any surprises. She would also prepare the family so we can get things done quickly.

- I got a van – Brainy said as he joined them in the living room, finishing his last piece of pizza – Don't ask how – He warned, noticing Clark's questioning look – J'onn told me you can take the alien family to his place, he will help protect them.

- Perfect! – Oliver said as he looked at everyone around him – Let's do this!

Clark drove with Thea to the house and as soon as Kara saw them coming, she warned the family to be ready to leave. As soon as Clark parked, they opened the van and the dad, the mom and their 2 kids rushed inside so Clark and Thea could take them to J'onn's place. Brainy, Nia and Oliver went to the back of the house, hiding inside so they could wait.

- If I see any sign of danger, I'm coming inside – Kara said as she held Oliver's hand.

- Everything will be ok – He said, giving her a small kiss on the lips.

Kara flew away enough to keep herself from being seen and used her x-ray vision to monitor whatever happened inside the house. Her heart started to beat really fast inside her chest as soon as she saw a few masked guys with baseball bats in their hands. They broke inside the house and she could see the moment Oliver shoot an arrow at the wall behind one of the guys, and smoke filled the room, making the masked man unmask, coughing and trying to see anything in front of them.

- What happened? – One of the guys asked, really angry, moving his bat blindly, breaking the TV and a vase next to the coffee table.

- Children of liberty, you have failed this city! – Oliver used his voice modulator and aimed an arrow to one of the men's knee, making him fall to the ground and yell in pain.

Brainy and Nia came out of hiding to join the fight. Oliver managed to knock 3 men out, Brainy easily fought two of them and Nia put 3 guys to sleep. There was only 1 standing until Oliver shoot a tricky arrow that had wires on it wrapping around the guy and making him fall down. Oliver approached him slowly while Nia and Brainy stared, ready to attack the guy.

- You and I need to have a little chat... - He said, taking the mask from the guy's face.

- I won't tell you a thing! – The guy spitted at Oliver's direction.

Oliver avoided it and gave the guy a death stare that caused Brainy and Nia to look really worried.

- Have you ever heard of the Bratva? – Oliver asked with a cold voice.

- The... Russian mob? – The guy asked, confused.

- I was part of it... And I improved some skills with them; skills that will make you talk... Are you sure you won't tell me anything?

The guy stood in silence and Oliver stared at Nia and Brainy and nodded with his head.

- If you guys don't mind to wait outside...

Kara could see on Oliver's face this wouldn't be easy even for him. She couldn't help but worry. Yes, she trusted him, she knew he wouldn't cross any lines, but to scare the guy, she knew he would have to reach deep into the darkness he once had. The darkness he fought so hard to leave behind.

Oliver shoot an arrow on his right knee and the guy yelled even louder.

- If you don't tell me where the missing aliens are, I'll keep doing this until there's nowhere else for me to shoot and then I'll start changing tactics, so one last time: WHERE ARE THE MISSING ALIENS?

Oliver shot an arrow in his right foot.

- I guess I should have told you. I used to dismember bodies as practice in Bratva, and I have no problem doing it again, so you better tell me where the aliens are. - Oliver was about to shoot a third arrow when the guy yelled again

- OK, OK, STOP...I'LL TELL YOU!

Oliver smiled satisfied and Kara smiled in relief as she watched it all with her x-ray vision. She had no idea if Oliver told the guy about his days in Bratva just to scare him or if it actually happened, but she figured someday they would have the opportunity to talk about it, right now she needed to focus on what was happening. She could hear the guy telling Oliver that the aliens were being kept inside a warehouse near the docks.

- This was just a warning. We're coming for all of you. And your leader!

- I DON'T KNOW WHO HE IS – The guy yelled in desperation.

- I know you don't know. – Oliver said after grabbing the guy by his collar and bringing him outside, pushing him to the sidewalk. – I know who knows, and you better tell them that Supergirl team is coming for them.

Oliver knew no one from that group knew who Agent of Liberty was, so he had no intention on wasting more time with him. He got what they wanted; the location, and now they could go save the missing aliens. Kara approached them, putting her hand on Oliver's shoulder.

- I'll take him to the police and the others... I'll be right back.

She said taking the guy with her and coming back in a few minutes, doing the same with the others. She walked towards Oliver as he lowered his head, staring at his feet.

- I'm proud of you – Kara said, reaching for his chin and guiding his head slightly up, to look into his eyes.

- I... I wasn't sure if I would be able to contain myself... I'm sorry...

- Hey is ok. You did. – Kara said as she caressed his cheeks

- I still shot him...

- I know... But you didn't torture him... You just scared the hell out of him – She teased, making him laugh – But you didn't cross the line... I know you told me once you were used to go to extreme because your world was dark and full of violence... You told me your late friend inspired you to do things differently and how hard it was for you. So yes, I'm proud of you. We have the location and everything that guy will need is a bandage on his knee and one on his foot.

- How on Earth you can be so positive, seeing the good even in impossible situations? – Oliver asked, still wondering if Kara was real, because he never had met anyone like her before.

- I see the good when it's there. And it is, Oliver. You're a hero that went through hell and had to do things to survive, things that are heavy and awful but it made you a survivor. I see the good you did, and the fact you wanted to change and do things in a better way. You scare people but you're good – She teased.

- I scare people because I need them to believe I'm serious...

- I know... - She said, bringing her lips closer to his. – I know... - She whispered

Oliver took a deep breath, giving her one more kiss as he hugged her by the waist. True be told, he wanted nothing more to just stay like this with her, as if the world was about to end. It was incredible how she could bring him so much peace and calm his mind.

- We need to hurry now – She said as their foreheads touched.

- Let's go. – He said giving her one more kiss before they went to join Brainy and Nia.

Clark and Thea helped J'onn accommodate the alien family at his place, waiting for news about the location of the other aliens. Thea kept staring at her phone and Clark noticed the worry in her face.

- Hey – Clark said as he came closer to her – Can we talk outside?

- Sure – She said – J'onn, if you need anything, just call us ok? We'll check on the others – She stared at the family – We will find everyone and stop them.

- Thank you – The mom said, hugging her kids and her husband.

Clark and Thea walked outside of J'onn's apartment until they reached the street.

- I'm worried about you... Is everything ok? – He asked, reaching for her hand.

- Yes... I guess it is. I mean... This life is so...

- Crazy and tiring.

- Yes – She said, staring deeply into his eyes and finding some understanding – After everything I went through with my brother and our team back on our Earth, I guess I'm always expecting for something really bad to happen, and it makes me feel on the edge all the time.

- I can't imagine what you've been through, I have some idea by the things you told me...and I'm sure it wasn't easy; it will probably stick with you for a long time. I know I have my share of hardships I collected through the years but at the end of the day, we still need to find that small portion of hope we might have left and hold on tight to it. We need to believe that things will be ok at the end; otherwise we can't find the strength to keep going.

- I try my best... I'm just not sure if I can.

- Thea... You're here now. Of course you can – He smiled, bringing his face closer to hers.

- I can't wait for this mess to be over – She whispered, giving him a quick peck on the lips.

- It will be over soon. – Clark said as he reached his phone and Thea did the same, reading the text they both got – They got it! – Clark smiled at Thea – See? Things will work out in the end.

Oliver and Kara reached Brainy and Nia and told them Clark and Thea would meet them at the warehouse.

- What if they have a stash of Kryptonite there? – Nia asked, worried.

- I'm sure they won't expect Supergirl and Superman coming, or any of us. – Brainy said.

- The ones that broke into the house could've had warned the others... - Nia insisted

- They didn't. – Kara said – I took them all to the police... I just hope they stay there.

As soon as they got to the warehouse, Nia and Brainy prepared to walk inside, while Kara used her x-ray vision.

- I can see them... There are children of liberty spread all around, so this won't be easy, but we got this!

- Kara... - Oliver said as he turned to look at her – I'm still worried they have kryptonite to try to hurt you or your cousin...

- Oliver...

- I'm just saying – Oliver said, reaching for her shoulders – Please, don't hold back.

Kara stared surprised at Oliver, not expecting him to say that at all. She was ready to argue about how she wasn't going to run or hide and now she was lost of words. She looked deep into his eyes, in silence.

- I know you won't back away from this just because it can be really dangerous, and I know you can handle anything. But at any sign of danger, please, don't hold back.

- I won't – She said, earning a smile from him. She could tell Oliver was worried, but she was really happy that he decided to trust her this time around. She knew the risks, but she had to fight.

Thea and Clark got to the warehouse and they all prepared to fight whoever tried to stop them freeing those aliens. Clark and Kara used their super speed to get inside and knock down as many children of liberty as they could. Brainy and Nia ran inside, with Thea and Oliver following them. It didn't take long for multiple masked men come to attack them all and a huge fight broke in. Kara used her heat vision to melt the kryptonite one of the children of liberty held on his hand, and the guy dropped it, yelling in pain since his hand ended up slightly burned too. Clark punched 5 guys using super speed, flying around them, making them dizzy and confused. Thea took advantage to hit them using her bow, twisting her body and taking 2 guys down at once, aiming an arrow to the third and shooting him on the shoulder. She ran as fast as she could to hit the fourth guy, hitting him in the head.

Oliver fought five guys at the same time, using the League techniques the best he could and switching to a few of his tricky arrows. He managed to take down three of the men and the two standing, he engaged on hand on hand combat. Nia used her powers to clear her way to the basement where the aliens where, with Brainy giving her cover behind her. The guy Thea fought with grabbed her hair, pulling it and throwing her to the ground. She rolled and stopped, standing up in a matter of seconds and running back, feeling anger taking over her entire body. She gave him a high kick on his chest, turned to grab his arm and twist it on his back, breaking it. The guy yelled, and she used her foot to kick his back and make him fall. She jumped him giving punch after punch, nonstop. She was determined to get some information and she would have it.

- Tell me Agent of Liberty is! NOW! – She yelled at him, punching his nose and breaking it, earning another yell in pain from the guy. – TELL ME! I'll break you in half until you do!

She grabbed her bow and arrow and aimed at his head.

"Here we are" – She thought, knowing she was beyond control now. This was what worried her the most before; she just wasn't ready to talk about it with Clark yet. She had her bloodlust under control, but sometimes, in extreme situations, it came back full force and it was hard for her to stop once it happened. Clark noticed her heartbeat wasn't normal, and noticed ferocity in her, one that he never saw before. He could tell it had something to do with things she told him she would open up about someday, and he had a feeling it was deep, serious and something that made her lost sleep about. And he was right. Clark didn't think twice and flew towards Thea, noticing she was still punching the guy that was already out.

- Speedy... Speedy, it's me, Superman... please – He said, holding her arms as she tried to get rid of his embrace – He's out. You can stop now...

Thea turned abruptly and hugged Clark, tears coming down her face as she tried to catch her breath.

- I... I know...

Clark kept helping her calm down, caressing her hair.

Kara and Oliver managed to help Nia and Brainy free all the aliens after knocking down the last children of liberty trying to stop them. They knew they had some more agents spread across the town, and it would take a lot to take them all down, but it was a start.

- We'll need to report this to the DEO. I know they don't want to do anything about it, but this time they will have to! – Nia said as she helped Brainy free the last alien.

- I'll talk to Alex – Kara said as she called her sister, asking for help.

Oliver looked to his right and saw Thea on the ground, hugging Clark as she sobbed and tried to catch her breath. He ran there, kneeling by her side, worried.

- What happened? – Oliver said, bringing Thea to his arms, hugging her – It's ok, Speedy... It's ok.

- She lost control, I had to stop her. The she started to cry, saying she was a monster... I told her this isn't true. She was out of breath, trying to tell me something...

- I... - Thea said, breathing in and out

Kara, Nia and Brainy approached them after tying the last children of liberty so they wouldn't wake up and escape.

- I know who Agent of Liberty is – Thea said.
