I wish I could tell you how we got here. I guess the world is just as fucked up as we are. I'm walking through the bushes which lightly brush against my shoulders. I'm glad I got that goddam haircut, or else maintaining my hair would stress me. It's dirty blonde and looks like shit unless I brush it. I can't help but wonder what my friends are up to. 3 months ago I would've been making TikTok's at a party, if it would've lasted, for all I know it would've dyed as vine did. Right now I'm wandering through the woods with a rifle searching for food.

"Tara!!!" Michelle shouts across the room with a drink in hand.

Michele's a bitch but she's pretty so it's ok. Her hair is almost red but I know she dyes it even thou she tells everyone it's her natural color.

"Hey Michele, awsome party!!!" I hate social gatherings, I'm kind of antisocial but my older sister forces me, she's kind of the coolest person I've ever met.

My older sister's name is Janice, she's half Latina since we both have different dads. She inherited these beautiful black wavy curls, and actually has some curves so people don't think were related. I didn't get boobs until this pandemic happened when I turned 16.

Look here comes Janice now! Janice is on some douchebag jocks shoulder, and he's hot so it's ok. His name is Chris, he can basically sexually harras any girl technically and no one would call it that. I mean one time he squeezed my ass and when I tried to say something he told me to chill it was just a joke. I try to stay out of everyone's way, better to be unnoticed if you ask me.

Janice is stumbling over herself, she had a way too many drinks. She walks up to me throwing her red solo cup back to finish her beer.

She then wraps her arms around my neck shouting, "I love you!! You're the best sister ever you know that you're so beautiful".

She then turns to Chris holding my cheeks, "Isn't she beautiful?"

"How old are you?" Chris says taking a swig.

"15" He stood quiet and smiled. I almost slept with him that night. I was basically his sloppy seconds cause Janice had to go home early big test tomorrow she said.

Instead, I spent it throwing up in his room bathroom. Did I tell you the party was at his house?! Michelle plans, but he has the place. I don't know why I did it, I guess I forgot to love myself. It's different now thou, that doesn't matter anymore thou, whether you look nice or not. It only matters where your next meal is coming from.

When I got home Janice laid next to me. She didn't care if I smelled like throw up, she would tuck me in. Her dad didn't want her, when our mom met my dad he stayed. I've never felt like she was less than a full blood sister, she treats me better than that.

She started to tuck me in and laid next to me. Playing with my eyebrows she said, "I'm soo drunk!"

Her eyes started to shut and I then sat up from my bed, "Janice"

"What?" she said.

"Is highschool always like this?"

"Like what?"

"Fucking Suck!" I left out a huge chuckle and she laughed with me. She started to take her necklace off, it was a locket that kept a picture of her dad.

"Take this picture out and put one of us, so I'll help the highschool experience be better" She put it on my neck and It made me feel better. She always knew how to do that.

"I don't want you to graduate" She smiled and then fell asleep.

1 year later...

Shit! My rifle's locking up it always does that. There's a ruffling ahead of me. It's a deer!!! I lift up my rifle to aim, and then I shoot.

Of course, I shoot the tree. It scared the deer so it ran off. I swear if I have to eat beans again I'm gonna kill myself.

Walking back to the cabin is long but it was my chance to get food and I failed again. Wait a minute! The door is open. I don't know if I should go in. I decide to storm in looking around the cabin for the only thing that matters. I go underneath the bed and reach for the box that I keep. It's broken into, and my locket is gone.

I wipe the tears from my eyes and hold the picture frame of me and Janice as kids next to my heart. Where is she? Why is the locket gone? When will I finally see my sister? Where do we go from here?
